Great Teacher Onizuka

Very similiar main lead, art style and humor. 

Golden Boy and GTO have similar humor and style. When I watched GTO I kept thinking about how it reminded me of Golden Boy. Both of these animes deal with comical perverted guys who you just can't help but love. 

The same humor and style. Main characters: Eikichi and Kintaro are very similar. 

There both funny as hell!!! 

Onizuka Eikichi from GTO and Oe Kintaro from Golden Boy are very similar characters. That goes for their personalities and even applies to things such as the facial expressions they make. They are both perverted guys who act goofy most of the time but when it comes down to it, they always deliver and save the day. The art and animation style for the these series are also very similar and the same goes for the style of the voice actors. Story-wise, Golden Boy is very episodic. Each episode is about a completely different scenario while in GTO the story is ongoing from beginning to end. Of course this makes sense seeing as how Golden Boy is a 6 episode OVA while GTO is a 43 episode series. Overall, it is impossible to watch both titles and not see the similarities as they apply to the characters, the art and animation, and the style of humor. Golden Boy and Great Teacher Onizuka has a similar style and humour and the main guys is just so similar in every way and yeah they make the same facial expressions lol... 

Both have very funny main characters as well as multiple problems with no real goal almost being episodic ,both are perverts and have similar art style.  

Both Golden Boy and Great Teacher Onizuka have the same kind of warm animation style and they both feature humorous male leads who frequently have all sorts of escapades involving women. If you liked Golden Boy's sort of humour, you will find more of it from GTO. Additionally, if you liked Golden Boy but wish to see something with a more solid plot, this is a good candidate. 

Both of the series involve a pervy protagonist who happens to get himself in loads of trouble but always gets away learning something or teaching something to someone else. Both protagonist make the most ridiculous faces that add to the charm of the series. If you like the brand of humor that Onizuka has, then golden boy is a great companion to the type of humor. Both are very inspiring and have a great spirit that make them a great watch. Sadly the series is a bit short but very worthy of a try.  

Slice of life, ~18-25 age group of main characters, male lead characters, mature themes, both have a lot of comedy, and voluptuous females. 

Extremely similar characters. Very funny. If you like one then you will like the other. 

It's not like the series are similar in plot, but the sense of humour is analogous. Since Golden Boy is only an OVA, you won't waste much time if you happen to don't like it at all. While Onizuka Eikichi is actually a dumb ass (which is fine with me), Kintaro Oe is rather an intriguing character and one doesn't exactly know which on he is - a smart genius or a dumb ass as well. If you liked GTO, you might try to watch Golden Boy. 

GTO and Golden Boy both are similar in humor. Both have an honest, hardworking main character who will go to great lengths to make a difference in another person's life. Mostly women. 

GTO and Golden Boy are both my favorite anime ^o^ there are both funny and have sweet story line ^_^

Golden Boy is some of the most baller S**t i have ever seen, but it is incredibly short. I feel as if GTO captured Golden Boys message, but is a lot deeper and longer. Both are some of the funniest anime you will ever find. I just couldn't stop laughing. When your done you'll feel sad because its all over. 

Well, these two series definitely shares some similarities. For instance, the main male protagonist is portrayed as a perverted guy. However at the same time, they are honest and truly wishes to help the people they meet. Both series' main male protagonist also gets into various situations with women. Initially their outlook on the mc is disgust but later on seems to view him in a different light. There's a lot of catchy dialogues in both series that is humorous. The old school style artwork also gives similiar vibes. There is also some fan service in both series. 

Both main characters are perverts go horny over any girls with ba-donk-a-donks There both Aspiring.. In GTO the main character Onizuka wants to be the greatest teacher while in Golden boy the main character likes to study study study study by going around japan learning new things, meeting new people, and taking alot of part time jobs Both shows are great Both have a funny humor to them, i would recommend these to everyone who wants a good laugh. Both are 90's anime about hardworking pervert who somehow finds a way to save the day, but somehow never gets laid. 

The situations that the main characters go through may differ, but the way they act throughout the episodes and they way they solve other people's problems are nearly identical. 

"Learn, learn, learn!" is the motto of Kintaro Oe, a law school drop-out who goes on a quest to travel across Japan on his bike, to gain knowledge. Both shows largely focus on the comedic, weird experiences and life lessons derived from them. 

just ridiculous pervy episodic comedy to make you feel warm inside 

It has the same atmosphere and similar characters, except in GTO the protagonist is a teacher, and in golden boy it's a super fast learner. Same genre, same art style, both main characters are cool and funny at the same time in their own way, which is good. I personally prefered golden boy as an anime, shame it's only 6 episodes, although you can always read the manga of which there is a lot of. Golden boy used the "arc an episode" format so it's better suited as a -relaxing, switch off brain and be happy- anime because you don't need to follow a particularly long plot. GTO does the same thing occasionally too though, just not the whole time. I highly recommend both. read more 

Both are comedy about a perverted guy and his escapades. Both have old style animation. Difference is that one MC is a teacher while the other one is just travelling around the world.

Onizuka and kintaro are protagonist fom the two series, the two share quite the similarities with both being a total perverted maniac who looks like idiot from the eyes of others. But as the story progresses others begins to doubt their despise and sees them as a kind of heroes. 

Both the protagonists are perverted and they both get themselves into trouble but end up saving people. 

Both main characters are pretty similar : both are eccentric who are perverted and end up gaining respect from everyone by their acts. As the main characters being quite identical, both shows display similar jokes and comedy. Finally, they share quite the same style as both shows released in 1995 and 1999. 

Both shows are comedies that feature an expressive, perverted, happy-go-lucky man in his twenties as the protagonist. These characters then spend the course of their respective shows trying to help solve problems held by the people around them while simultaneously solving a few of their own. Also, both shows feature older, celluloid animation. 

The thing I love about GTO and Golden Boy, is that both main characters are hilarious and get themselves into some of the most humorous, and most awkward situations that make them both so much fun to watch. I noticed that both Onizuka and Ooe, Kintarou go to great lengths for other people, even if they're risking their lives doing so. Golden Boy is very similar to GTO and I highly recommend you watch it, despite Golden Boy only having 6 episodes. 

Very design and great samrt pervert main characters. If you like old school sexy jokes this anime is best for you. 

The main character in both anime are perverted guys who enjoy teaching and helping people. They are both great at many things. However, in most of the cases it's Onizuka's strength that helps him while Kintarou isn't really strong but smart. Onizuka teaches even though he isn't all that smart while Kintarou is a law school dropout because he had completed all his courses. Onizuka has his eyes on his hot colleagues and his students' mothers while Kintarou has his eyes on the girls he meets when he is trying to learn new things. GTO and Golden Boy have really similar sense of humour and their art style is really similar too. I'd say if you watched one and enjoyed it, you'll like the other one as well. read more

Both main characters (Kintarou Ooe and Eikichi Onizuka) are virgin perverts with a great heart and a necessity of helping people, both animes are funny with the main protagonist having a mixture of smartness and dumbess in their brain. They repugn women at the beginning, but by the end they can't resist Kintarou and Onizuka good side. Golden Boy and Great Teacher Onizuka are both a erotic comedy, the only crime is that Golden Boy is only 6 episodes in contrast to the 43 episodes of the Great Teacher Onizuka. 

While Golden Boy doesn't have a focused-story, both are surprisingly similar, mostly in comedy. So, just like I said, both have a very similar comedy, Golden Boy focuses 100% only on comedy, while Great Teacher Onizuka doesn't, though. Both have a very similar artstyle, a quirky old one, it's comfy & great. 

Both shows have the main character doing odd jobs, and leaving a lasting impression on those they help out Both Onizuka and Kentaro tech others about life. Both are insatiable perverts that do and imagine bizarre things, for comedic effect. All in all, I recommend this anime even though there are only 6 episodes, it's fun to come back to and watch, I think it's refreshing to watch after you become sick of seeing the same old same old each season. 

MC is a damnass perv with some life experience. He is goofy, girl crazy but also kinda badass. Similar humor.  

These both fill the same hole in my heart in a perfect nostalgic/hilarious combination. While they are otherwise the antithesis of eachother (Kintarou is a genius college kid and Onizuka is a dopey dropout) they remarkably are still essentially the same character: Unexpectedly clever individuals full of humor with hearts of gold. I think the shortness of Golden Boy makes it a great cooldown watch after a GTO binge. 

Both are really similar in style and the humor is very similar Kintarou and Eikichi Onizuka both are very similar when it comes to their personalities both of them are extremely likeable characters although the plot is a bit different Golden Boy is mainly focused on a guy traveling across the country of Japan. Great Teacher Onizuka is about a reformed biker gang leader named Eikichi Onizuka who is forced into being a teacher both of these shows use over the top slapstick humor and both of them are the most funniest shows I have ever watched especially GTO the comedy along with the characters in both shows are fantastic. Great Teacher succeeds in being a much longer show and the main character along with the supporting characters get way more development then all the characters in Golden Boy also every arc in GTO is really entertaining and extremely funny if Golden Boy was the type of show for you I Highly Recommend watching GTO because it's just a overall Great Comedy/ Slice of life along with having solid animation and really good OPS and EDS there's not really much else I can say about these shows besides that I'm glad that I watched both of them especially fucking GTO! read more 

Same type of oldschool vibes and oldschool ecchi jokes, the main characters are very similar and the humor is quite the same

The styles of comedy are very similar in both GTO and GB. In Golden Boy the story revolves around an early 20s dude just going out and learning about the world while "fate" makes him meet a lot of attractive women, that by the end of the episode have the hots for him. GTO revolves around a teacher also in his early 20s going through school life and teaching, but also learning about the students he teaches. He ofc isn't the most normal teacher pretty much sexually harassing some of his students. But he's a funny and endearing guy. Both anime revolve around learning some sort of lesson as well, wich in GB is very straight forward most of the time, but can be a bit hard to catch at times in GTO. As my favorite quote from GTO says "What does school mean to you?" these anime series explore the fundementals of having fun while being young and learning about life. read more 

Onizuka and Kintarou, they both are outwardly quite pervert and creates a lot of vulgar activities but their intention always remain perfect .

Bot anime have similar art style to each other. Both have main characters that are similar as they are both perverted yet intelligent. Funny anime you can laugh too. 

Onizuka and Golden boy these two animes have many of the same characteristics whether the story, protagonist, plot, these animes are not just comedy and adult comedy, many people just see that in them. They are anime lost by the new generation, nowadays people don't know what a real anime is. Even if one copied from the other, the best doesn't matter and it's a tie if it weren't copies the world today wouldn't be like this, it's a dumb world. 

The humor is same. 

Lots of Comedy and lots of lessons about how life can be happy sometimes. 

Hilarious, bizarre and extremely funny moments, something special of GTO which I only found again in the shorter but still great Golden Boy series, with even a similar the atmosphere and visual art style. For me watching both GTO and Golden Boy is a must. Just be aware about some explicit sexual content in Golden Boy. 

ayttt so basically both of the animes are pure gold comedy with a lovey 1990s anime art style.They are pursuing education in weird, funny ways with funny ecchi scenes that make it more enjoyable

Both GTO and Golden Boy are similar late 90's comedies. Onizuka is older but to be honest both of them are about the same age mind-wise haha. Both of them go after women, and both also share some theme of lessons in that GTO wants to better the class while Golden Boy wants to learn new things the world has to offer. 

Despite there being many differences in the setting, you will find that as you watch GTO there's many parallels to Assassination Classroom. For example Onizuka-sensei while not being a Mach-20 octopus like Korosensei, is very OP in his own right. Also, both of them take a sometimes unconventional approach to teaching, like to fool around but have a tendency to impart the occasional piece of wisdom to help their students. Don't be dissuaded by the fact that GTO was from the 90s because there are some things that don't get worse with age! 

Basically the same plot. Both have unique teachers teaching a class of trouble kids and going to any extreme to help them.  

A teacher trying to take care of each every one of their students. Also the teacher is trying hard to be friends with their students and make wonderful memories of the students last year of junior high school.  

I've always been looking for a similiar anime to GTO, and I think many others do. GTO was just amazing and I didn't want it to end. And since I found a similiar anime on par with GTO I thought to share it with the other members here :D They're both about special teachers who care about their studends and help them grow. Even though one is a delinquent and the other is some kind of lab-created monster. As the series goes on they will help their students with daily life issues, go on field trips and many other stuff. U should watch it! 

Education, Slice of Life, Betrayal, Drama - these genres fit the full package in getting you hyped-up to watch this Anime non-stop! The main protagonist, Eikichi Onizuka, personalities are quite similar to the protagonist, Koro-Sensei, from Ansatsu Kyoushitsu anime; Despite the setting of the story, they are both comical from just their facial expressions alone to the insane actions they performed. They both share similar goals as to help students, striving them to walk the right path in life and giving the audience a sense of thoughts on their real life. Both teacher encounters disadvantage and challenging situation all for the sake of their students despite the consequences whether it's from an illogical or a logical standpoint. If you have the same feeling where you would want Koro-Sensei as a teacher in real life then this anime is the perfect anime for you to watch. Similar Concept. A Teacher looks after a class of misfits, who is not your conventional teacher. They both encourage and look after them, in their own weird ways. And Both the teachers are funny as hell. These two are stories about the bonding between A Student and A Teacher, which shows us that you can open up the hearts of Students by interacting with them and supporting them.  

Both shows are excellent "unorthodox teacher" dramedies. GTO is better as a full-blown comedy, while AssClass is more high concept, polished, and well-rounded. 

Unlikely teachers who try to solve the problems of a troubled class through their own weird but fun methods.

I was so waiting until I could normally add this recommendation. So yeah. An untraditional and perverted teacher, working with kids who are in their 3rd year in middle school. And those kids try to remove the teacher. In GTO, we have a bunch of kids who think they're so cool they don't need a teacher and in AssClass we have a tentacle monster who wants to destroy the world in one year and the kids were asked to kill the monster with huge bounty. And what makes the children's goal difficult? The teacher seems to be the best teacher in the world... 

Both have MC Teacher wanting to help their students through their hardships. 

Unorthodox teacher helps his class of misfit students navigate the perils of the Japanese school system and teenage life. 

In both GTO and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu the main characters are teachers who think their students come before anything else. They are both a bit perverted (Onizuka is much more perverted). In both series the students plot something behind their teachers. Both of the teachers are really strong. However, Koro-sensei is a supernatural character while Onizuka is just a really strong guy who works out a lot. The art styles have nothing to do with each other as GTO was made in 1999-2000 and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu is a new anime but I personally don't think that makes so much of a difference. In both of the anime there are really great voice actors. If you enjoyed one of them, you'll definitely like the other one. read more 

Both good school comedies with a great main character teacher. 

Teacher leading the society deemed useless kids into the light. Both series features a badass teacher, who truly knows their students 

Both the animes have a badass teacher who is willing to do anything for their students and are packed with comedy and have a great story as well. 

While made in different eras (and consequently different types of humor), both feature students that are trying to take down their teacher, but the latter outwits them and ultimately teaches them important life lessons. Both Koro Sensei and Onizuka are seen as great educators, albeit for MUCH different reasons.

Both series involve a teacher being introduced into a new class that is relatively filled with poor(bad) students. In both shows, the teachers drastically improve the classroom, and slowly gain the affection of the students  

Onizuka Eikichi, 22 years old, single, yoroshiku! Definitely the core of both shows are Koro-sensei and Onizuka-sensei, which are excellent examples of what a teacher must be like in order to create a good mix of learning and trust with their students. Be truly passionate about the path you have chosen and truly care about the students that have been given to you to prepare and educate them for the future. 

Both have enjoyable teachers that are not average teachers and teach their students important life lessons and goes above and beyond the scope of what a normal teacher would do.  

Both animes are school, and show the evolution of students, after being instructed by their teachers how to improve, both teachers have a census of justice and want the best for their students, have a similar comedy in some aspects, and works the relationship between teacher and student 

I think that GTO is like a father for Ansatsu Kyoshitsu, Onizuka is like Korosensei, they are pervert, kind hearted and they protect their student. Both animes take place in school and all students love the teacher  

Both have similar concept. A weird teacher who have an unexpected solution for their students. Also the teacher is teaching in the worst class. These two are worth to watch because they have nice plot and laughable comedy 

Both are great Anime which focus on School setting and the teachers are very good and inspiring characters Both the teachers help with their students' problems and make the students like them 

If you came to the show, wanting to see good characters and a history that is no so repetitive with an excellent protagonist, you are lost, my friend. But it's not so late, you can see Assassination Classroom, or you can see GTO instead, an anime that touches better and more creative themes than Ansatsu. With a teacher that will inspire you to became an educator thank to his amazing protagonist. You can see GTO and learn about life, or you can go to the easy way and learn absolutey nothing from Ansatsu. The decision is yours. 

The main character in both is a teacher who teaches a problematic class. In the case of Onizuka, the class tries to get him fired from the school and in the case of koro Sensei, the class tries to kill him so he won't destroy Earth. Onizuka and Koro Sensei are very similar, both very strong, perverted and charismatic. Both teaches their students important life lessons that not every regular teacher teaches. The students learn to appreciate their teacher and slowly become attached to him. Both are amazing animes to me, especially GTO which is very unique and there is no other anime like it, highly recommend.  

Both of them taking place in a school, and the teacher is not like the usual teacher you know, teaching the student in a different way. Also, the students in both anime started from hating the teacher (in a way) to appreciating and loving the teacher, slowly forming a good teacher-student relationship.

Both Great Teacher Onizuka and Assassination Classroom are very similar Both of these anime are about the worst class in school learning life lessons from a very special teacher Both teachers are outcasts from society like Onizuka being a delinquent and Koro sensei being an lab experiment Both of these anime are mostly comedy but wont be afraid to show sad momments In both of the anime these anime the students are trying to get rid of the teachers like in GTO students trying to fired and in Assasination Classroom the students are trying to kill the teacher  

English/Español: Both anime are about classroom problems (excluded by a certain group of people) and a teacher who helps solve them thanks to the love they have for their profession in fun ways. Both Great Teacher Onizuka and Assassination Classroom are based on the story of a teacher who influences his students to become from the worst of the bunch to really good people. While Assassination Classroom provides a supernatural experience, GTO is more of a slice of life ecchi story. If you liked one you are sure to like the other.  

Both anime revolves around the story of teachers and show how they improve themselves as well as their students.

The world is different, but in both cases an atypical teacher, very pedagogical, will take care of the class of the worst students.

If you liked Onizuka Eikichi from GTO as a main character, then you're definitely going to like Sakata Gintoki from Gintama. Everything they do from riding 2-wheeled transportation devices(I hesitate to call Gin-san's old scooter a bike) to nose-picking to ass-whopping make me think that they must be brothers from different universes. And if you liked GTO's awesome mix of comedy, action, life lessons, occasional ecchi, and problem-solving, then you should give Gintama a shot, because it is all that with a heavy dose of parody thrown in just for kicks. 

Light-headed/carefree main characters, great humor and both animes giving you the chance to review/edit your opinion about life and stuff to do with it.

Well you understand how much I love both of these. 

Although these two anime is not similar in plot, the funny moments will remind you again again of each other. If you liked one of them then you are surely to like the other. 

In both anime, the main characters have a dangerous past and are trying to be good in the present. Humour present in both are comparable. 

Both protagonists are helping people with their problems in a similar "self-sacrificing" way. Gintama gets real good around after around episode 60, but its so worth it 

The main protagonist is an old man, both have a lot of experience. Reliable when it really maters and quite devious when not. 

They are similar in terms of: -Main character are both late twenties, odd ball, lazy, crazy but they can be very serious when the moment asks for it -Can give you a good laugh as well as a good lesson -There is a bit of action but Gintama has more action 

-Extremely funny -Great episodic arc stories -Epic speeches -Pervert characters

This anime is very hilarious and i recommended for watch, if you like comedies. Тhank you for your attention 

Neither of them fail to make you laugh. Both have great MCs with golden heart. 

- Both MC's are haunted by their past but appear to be goofy - Actual good comedy with a few serious parts here and then - GTO is less dark compared to Gintama 

they are both comedy anime with serious scenes and also have similar paradies including doreamon 

Ooo...k.. Do NOT expect it to be GTO! It's a comedy with an interesting story. The ideea is basicaly the same: a teacher with a controvertial story in their lives (Onizuka ex-biker, Gokusen relations with yakuza). This is considered the female version of GTO. It's a MUST if you saw GTO but it's not GTO by a long shot. 

Almost the same art. Both main characters were gang members and want to be a teacher. 

Both are stories about a teacher who is really bad ass who becomes a teacher for a JD class. GTO is much more perverted then Gokusen, and the main character is a guy (obviously). Gokusen's main character is a girl. 

Teachers, gangsters, life. Makes for a great anime. 

Both animes feature a gangster backed wanna be teacher,who actually succeeds to overcome the disorganized students and teach them some respect. Where GTO has male, Gokusen goes with a female teacher. 

Teachers who are members of a gang that wanted to change their life for good, they help those stubborn teenager students who are going to the wrong path & lead them to the right path.  

Both series have the troubled class and unorthodox teacher theme.  

Gokusen is basically like a poor man's GTO, but both were enjoyable. 

Main character is a former gang member who wants to be a teacher and has to deal with difficult students. 

Besides everything previously said, in both TVs vice president of the school dislikes the protagonist and tries to harm him/her. And the flow of the storyline is pretty similar. 

Epic Teachers using unconventional methods to teach their students. 

Both feature a rebelious teacher with a crimnal past being a guide to the younger more rambunctous crowd of students as well too and the growing bond between them as well too. 

Some Atmosphere and Great Teachers  

A young adult with a criminal/delinquent past becomes a teacher in charge of a problematic class of rebellious students. The students antagonise the teacher at first, but warm up to them after being taught valuable life lessons. 

There is a nice balance between comedy and action. Both truely unforgettable. And allthough the action is awesome, and sometimes over the top. They stay realistic. The story lines are also close to reality. Everything you see could have happend in real life. Also, you'll notice while watching the series, that you'll really start to look up to the main character. Especially Onizuka from GTO. That guy will earn your respect for sure.  

The stories of Great Teacher Onizuka and Hajime no Ippo may be different, but the comedy is explosive with its well-presented dialogues. There is significant character development in both series as their perspectives unfolds. Artwork-wise, both series share similarities in their crude drawing that illustrate a sense of masculinity, especially for our main male protagonists. As both series progress, they gain friends, rivals, and admirers based on respect/friendship/relationships. Both series also display realism that can be relatable.  

Great (in a way comparable) main character. Over the top humor but can be emotional when you least expect it. Both story are written really well. 

While the plots of these anime are different, they have quite a few similarities. First off, the art style is quite similar. Secondly, they have the same kind of humor, and emotional scenes when you least expect them. They also have similar action scenes and character development. Finally, they also have character you'll look up to. 

Older shows are just the greatest, are they not? First, Hajime no Ippo & Great Teacher Onizuka both have a VERY similar type of comedy, the type I love & the type that keeps me dying from laughing... Both have a really similar character; Takamura & Onizuka, once you watch both you will know how they're similar, very similar. Overall, both shows are very similar & amazing.

They are different in plot, however very similar in character writing and belong to the final years of hand-drawn animation. The MCs are lost in life and find an interest/passion as a job, that follows them though their lives. 

Both GTO and Sakamoto utilizes the "us vs. them" mentality. Initially, at the start of the show, the main character in each show is on their own. They receive practically no support from other people and are pestered incessantly by a series of antagonists. However, as each show progresses, the antagonists in each show is essentially "converted" and befriends the main character. They begin to see why the main character behaves the way he does. 

Although one is a teacher and the other is a student, both anime has the MC doing extremely stupid/cool stunts and not caring what others think. Both never fail to get you to laugh too 

Similarity - What main character did is unexpected Difference - Sakamoto always keep his coolness but Onizuka didn't care of how other will see him as. Which one is better? shouldn't miss out any of them 

Both characters are cool. Onizuka is really funny on how he handles life situations and Sakamoto is so cool in everything he does that it makes me laugh. 

They have got the same humor and Onizuka and Sakamoto are both gods but GTO has got a linear story, Sakamoto are just funny moments 

both shows work on problems of a normal student in highschool but the mc in both shows approach the problems in different ways, but in sakamoto it takes a more comedy term which is not that boring tbh. in over all you better watch GTO if you haven't already 

Charismatic main characters that know how to deal with bullying in school and offer some good solutions to the issue.  

Ever assigned to teach a bunch of socially-rejected pupils? Here is your chance. Denpa Kyoushi as well as GTO offer you the chance to laugh of what a teacher can do, if he's also by himself, rejected by society. Although Comedy is not guaranteed in both of the series, the enjoyment rate will change your vision into what schooling means. But most important is that... here they share the fact that they're teaching us what it meant to be a teacher. 

Similarities. Both having the main MC(Teacher) guiding the students to go on the correct path The Main MC originally not suited to be a teacher(GTO-Yankee, DK-Otaku) The MC got accepted to the school due to the principle finding them interesting.

They have literally the SAME CONCEPT it's like if great teacher onizuka was an otaku except of a gangster and he was smart.  

Onizuka and Oga behave similarly, when they lose their nerves. Even move which Oga used to beat Toujou was the same which Onizuka used to beat the vice-principal. In addition the world is similar and most of the action takes place in the school. 

Both shows involve a male lead teaching kids, have delinquents leads, depict outrageous scenes, and are hilarious and awesome! XD

How is it similar: -Both protagonists are the strong and badass type -Action takes place in similar environments -Very similar characters,that support the main protagonists in some way -The main characters have to face new challenges -Both shows are funny in a lot of different ways -And of course,both animes are Shounen so that's a bonus xD 

Both anime have a similar setting, as they are both set in a high school. They feature a delinquent and overpowered main characters, who usually resorts to solving problems using violence, by beating some sense into other students. Both anime have a similar sense of humor and have the main characters often get involved in weird and silly situations. They have a similar vibe, with the main difference between the two being the fact that Beelzebub has supernatural elements, while GTO doesn't. 

Both are comedies about a delinquent who becomes a teacher or a babysitter. GTO is about a former gang member who decides to become a teacher in order to score with his students, while Beelzebub is about the strongest juvenile delinquent being tasked with taking care of the son of Satan. While both animes have comedic moments, Great Teacher Onizuka also has more heartwarming and touching scenes, whereas Beelzebub sticks mostly to toilet humor jokes. 

It's not GTO at all, and the theme is different, but the two main characters resemble each other greatly. These two anime have the same feel and pacing to them. 

if you watch GTO for onizuka, you'll probably like sakuragi hanamichi. Hanamichi is as dumb as, as direct as, as insane as, as inhuman as, as simple minded as Onizuka. Two of them approach to events is so funny and direct. Hanamichi<=Onizuka... 

If you enjoy Slam Dunk, you will likely enjoy GTO and vice versa. They are both classic anime comedies with a large fan base. Well written characters that you can't help but love and cheer for and a hooking plot that keeps you coming back for more. There are lessons to be learned and inspiring moments to be had in both animes. Overall, similar art and feel as well but this is also characteristic of the times when the animes were made. 

The main viibes from the main character are more than similar to Onizuka. Both of them are quite idiots but reliable when needed 

Similar comedy, both are circled around delinquents that try to find success one way or another in the real world. Mostly importantly, both are amazing and very enjoyable. 

SCHOOL SETTING WITH ECCENTRIC MALE LEAD. You can feel a strong and funny friendship in both 

They're both very very funny anime's, their humor is VERY similar but GTO is a bit more ecchi at times. Also both are episodic in nature, meaning there's no MAIN plot, just a couple plots that last a couple episodes each with themes.

Both series are first of all, takes place at a school life setting with a large cast of characters. Both series' main protagonists are viewed and portrayed as delinquents but later gets character development through his interactions with the other cast members. Both series contain random humor, drama, action (less so in School Rumble), and some romance. Both series are overall entertaining and even teaches a value in some of the episodes. 

Both main male characters are misunderstood delinquents. This fact causes lots of drama for them which always results in hilarious outcomes. Both shows are perfect for a good laugh. 

School Rumble is the rightful rec for any GTO inquiry and vice versa. GTO offers you a more mature experience using similar jokes, animation, crazy events, etc. Think of GTO as the older brother to School Rumble. The funny thing is that Onizuka was a biker prior to being a teacher, so although the stories don't converge there are stark similarities. Put simply, if you liked School Rumble and don't mind a slightly more mature version then GTO will reward you. Also let me mention, GTO is one of the best anime I have ever seen in all regards.  

Both have a very similar school setting. The only difference is that Onizuka is a teacher while the main characters in school rumble are students, which doesn't really matter because Onizuka acts like a student. 

The main characters appear to the casual eye to be plain ignorant perverts who will do anything to get a girl. But once things start moving they turn out to be more than capable to handle the events that occur and who have a good understanding of what is right and wrong. 

City Hunter's Ryo Saeba is the granddaddy of all badass, perverted mofos with hearts of gold. 

MC have similar traits, similar dynamics between MC and Main girl 

The main characters used to be the leaders of a motorbike gang and have now a new normal job. 

They are both about former delinquents trying to have a normal work 

"Great Teacher Onizuka" and "Salaryman Kintarou" are similar in their comedic style, featuring over-the-top characters and situations. Both anime feature characters that go beyond all expectations to get what they want. Onizuka relies on unorthodox methods to teach his students important lessons, while Kintarou uses his wits and street knowledge to succeed in the corporate world. While their approaches are different, both shows share a common theme of justice, and never take themselves too seriously. The primary difference between the two animes is their focus on different types of characters and stories. "Great Teacher Onizuka" emphasizes personal stories and character development, while "Salaryman Kintarou" is more focused on the day-to-day struggles of an average man in the city. read more 

Both are hilarious with Kyou kara Ore Wa being, probably, the funniest anime I've seen. Though the comedy in Kyou kara ore wa is not sexualized, unlike GTO, it'll still manage to make your sides hurt.  

Aesthetically appreciated shows from the 90s that evokes nostalgia. So much meme-worthy elements and out-of-context clips, but also makes for beautiful gifs - across the board great delinquent-comedy that you can turn off your brain to done by Pierrot 

the main character is very similar to a what a younger version of Onizuka would be. a lot more gang-fighting than GTO and the might even be better 

Onizuka and Reigen are basically the same people except Onizuka is cooler lol but both are as hilarious and dopey as one another and are senseis 

-Both has main characters who are damn funny Onizuka and Reigen, Arataka and both shows consist of comedy and have someone who wants to protect others. 

Combine Reigen Arataka's cunning and character design with Mob's "saving the day," and you get Eikichi Onizuka. GTO also has a similar master-apprentice vibe. I recommend watching it.  

If Spike Spiegel was a teacher... 

If you like the talents of Wendee Lee and Steve Blum (credited as David Lucas in Onizuka) then you would love Cowboy Bebop since they both give the same great voice performances. 

- main protagonists give off the same vibes (being laid-back and street-smart) - theme of past - art of being laid-back - similar structure (nearly non-connected episodes) - oldschool  

Seiji and Onizuka are about the same character. Both are two guy who love to chase after women and while on the surface seem like tough guys in actuality both of them have a heart of gold. 

If you want some humor and comedy and action, then check out both series. The main character in both series are also similar in that they are desperate to get a girlfriend or enter into a serious relationship despite their delinquent outer self. There is also a lot of fan-service in both series as well as crude humor. Yet, there is also some romance and later drama in some of the more serious episodes. Both series are excellent if you're looking for some humor and a laugh. 

I realize that this is a very strange recommendation however the main characters of these to shows share a lot of similarities. Both can kick ass, both are virgins, both have a tendency to over react, and both act similarly around women. 

Great slice of life coming from a teacher xD 

Both shows feature a teacher as the main protagonist surrounded by problematic and troubled students. The gist and basis of both shows are p. much the same. Although both are classified as comedy and parody shows, the style of humour in both shows are very different. The protagonists too are quite the opposite personality-wise. However, if you're a fan of comedy anime and liked any one of the 2 aforementioned shows, you will probably like the other. 

Both are comedies about a class and theri unusuall teacher. While Onizuka from Great Teacher Onizuka is more of a pervert and Zetsubou-sensei from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is extremly pessimistic, both teache childrens about life. 

Both are hilarious to watch and have similar character designs. Animation is roughly the same quality as well.  

Both are about delinquent schools, and how the main characters navigate their life around this. The humour in both series are similar, and can be ridiculous at times (in a good way). Both are unrealistic and overdramatic, and both main characters find themselves in strange situations. You'll especially like Cromartie if you liked Onizuka's facial expressions. 

One is a high school comedy-drama while the other's a supernatural action series that has only a teeny bit of high school related drama early on. In spite of these different premises however, the characters of both shows' leads are remarkably similar. Both Onizuka and Yusuke are slightly perverted street smart tough guys, though they're also good guys deep down and often wind up helping others out in their own unique fashion. The two aren't exactly the brightest and often rush head first into trouble without thinking, yet despite that both of them somehow manage to always triumph even when the odds are against them. And while Onizuka wins over his each students who initially despise him, Yusuke likewise turns quite a few of his rivals and enemies into friends and allies. read more 

One of the joys, to me at least, of GTO is the cultural significance, and by that I mean the fact that it was airing nearly 19 years ago from the date of writing this review. While I think it is dangerous to assume to understanding Japanese culture strictly from watching anime, I also often argue that you can definitely get a feel for real-life historical issues, especially in slice-of-life, of course. Yu Yu Hakusho does a similar job, complete with silly "Yankee" pompadour hairdos, and 90's aesthetics for hair, cars, and color-pallets.  

While Ansatsu is more focused on the various students of class 3-E denpa kyoushi is more focused on Onizuka the god like pervy teacher.The former cashes on the various neat tricks and comedy involving the daily intercourse of the teacher and the class the latter exploits the daily gimmicks of onizuka who has a devil may care attitude about everything.As a whole GTO is a more entertaining watch than Ansatsu kyoushitsu. 

Both anime have a great teacher,though Ansatsu Kyoushitsu is somewhat supernatural compared to GTO they both show the relation of student with their teacher.  

While one is a teacher and one is a police officer, the protagonists in both of these series are roughnecks who are childish, fun-spirited, greedy, and a bit perverted... each show focuses on these characters getting involved in fun high-jinks in modern day Japan. If you like the antics in one show, you're bound to like the antics in the other. 

Both have over the top comedy with memorable characters and an awesome opening and closing theme.Both have episodes that teach good life lessons in hilarious ways.If you missed these two gems then you have certainly missed a lot of good stuff. 

Both involve a new, unexpected teacher working in a school challenging the obstacles that are thrown at them. For example, the vice principal in both series try to find the one slip-up that will get the teacher fired. They also both focus heavily on the teacher trying to help their students in their troubles with genuine love and care for them. Lots of drama, romance, and comedy from both series with similar soundtracks that tend to provoke emotion.  

In both the anime a good student teacher relationships is shown which is rear nowadays . Both the anime have a good blend of comedy and sadness with a satisfying ending of the story . 

Both anime consists of a character with "Onizuka" in their first name, has blonde hair, and is an ex-gangster [spoiler]who then later pursues their teaching career[/spoiler] …But for real though, both are top-tier anime with school settings. They will also teach you a lot of valuable life lessons for the youth, GTO hits harder on the lessons while Sket Dance has more of the modern style for explaining those takes on life, if that makes sense. And yeah, both are equally batshit funny and heartwarming anime for the most part.  

In hindsight, I have to wonder how much of the writing process for Akashic was spent rewatching GTO or subconsciously reflecting back on it. While I would never suggest that their storylines are similar (they both are strong independently, and I am almost always hardpressed to suggest that show is bad for sharing similarities with other shows) I think that Glenn was meant to be presented as an Onizuka type. Glenn has a much darker background, and I personally think Akashic delves into emotion in a more satisfying manner that modern anime seem to execute more successfully, and Akashic has a significantly different genre even than GTO. Still, the similarities between Glenn and Onizuka as "lazy, foul-mouthed heathens with power when it counts" makes them fun similar watches. read more 

It's a bit of a stretch but hang with me. Both main characters have personalities that are (really) similar to each other and are easily likable. Both are mainly focused on helping people through their situations (Trigun only does this early in the series) Both have unforgettable theme songs (more so in Trigun than in GTO). Both are considered classic anime series. Both have excellent soundtracks. 

Same types of jokes are made in both GTO and Prison School. The second is a far more recent one, so had better animation, but I find that both styles are still pretty similar. I found the jokes in both very hilarious. If you like GTO, you'd like this as well. 

Foul mouth badasses that at the end of the day just want to get laid. 

Comedy titles with crude humor and crazily brash protagonists. 

Oh mah gosh. I love these 2 animes so much! :Similarities: -Both involve delinquents. The main guy character are well known as one of the legendary strong guy on the block that everyone knew and doesn't want to get involved with. Everyone was terrified of him, until one day he changed because of something. -Both main characters changes everyone around them for the better -Both animes are extremely funny and warm, yet stupidly hilarious -Both anime gives you similar feeling almost -Both animes are olden style drawings, similar artwork of each other -Both have some same music/ost --Both animes revolves around a theme-- -GTO: Students believe all teachers are bad. Throughout the whole anime, they show you with each character's past, that not all teachers are bad. Some are good, some are bad. The teacher shows the students a whole new perspective -Tenshi: The main character believes that all men are evil, all men are perverts and are idiots. Then she comes along these new friends / fanclub that shows her that not all men are perverts. Not all men are bad. I mean like, yes they ARE ALL perverts in that group, but they are not just evil and disgusting as how she imagined men are to be. Difference: --GTO mostly doesn't show much romance happening --Tenshi revolves around romance but it's so good and addicitng --Tenshi main character is a girl (ex guy) and GTO main character is a guy -BONUS: GTO Voice actor of Onizuka also voice acts for Genzo in Tenshi, the main guy character. Their personalities are very similar, almost alike.  read more 

Both series are about perverted hooligan-type protagonists who have ulterior motives for becoming teachers. They use violence to deal with delinquent misfits in their class and elsewhere on campus, with Jouji being more vicious in this regard than Onizuka. Their main love interests are both naive female colleagues who (at least for the one and only OVA episode of High School Jingi) are ineffectual and unable to stop the protagonists' misbehaviour. If you are a fan of GTO's crass, over-the-top comedic scenes then you will probably enjoy High School Jingi since it is a pure comedy with none of the (melo)drama present in GTO. 

Both feature seemingly invulnerable protagonists who slowly win the hearts of everyone around them. The two series share a similar style of comedy and light-hearted nature. If you enjoyed the antics of Onizuka, then you'll love the Irresponsible Captain Tylor. 

Both of them have similar points, except that NHK is more dramatic, and has more painful parts to watch, when GTO is more of the funny side. GTO is definitely a must-watch for all you psychological lovers who want to watch something that doesn't feel like wasting time. You might find yourself looking 20 episodes straight. Well.. thats what happened to me on both anime. ^ ^
