I grew up on anime, like many of you, I assume. Here in the U.S. I was heavily supplied with most of my early introductions to anime through Cartoon Network's "Toonami," as well as (the now defunct) Tech TV's "Anime Unleashed," late at night. Unlike many though, I was not always drawn to the more "Shonen," titles, and have always found titles such as Naruto and Bleach to be repetitive (If interesting, of course). I grew up watching poorly recorded VHS tapes of films and shows such as "Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture," and "Princess Mononoke," for example. I also remember watching shows such as "Orphen," and "Last Exile," at an early age, and realized what a fantastic medium anime could be for a kid starved for interesting and new stories. Most of my life has then been fairly and consistently linked with anime and Japanese culture.
