Both about a guy who is forced into a marriage through a series of crazt events, and both are really funny with lots of comedy and cute girls as lead characters ;3

Similar type of useless main character who shines in the most useless of ways. Semi-harem type. But on top of everything they have the same kind of humor and ways of executing the humor.

Nagasarete Airantou is probably the ecchi version of Seto no Hanayome. Pick up both if you love the perpetual thrill in hyper love comedy.
report Recommended by chibuki
Both series have a guy discovering a girl's secret and trying to protect that secret, while also growing closer to the girl as the story progresses. Both are predominately Romance Comedies.

Both Seto no Hanayome and Nisekoi involve the main character having affiliation with the Yakuza and being forced into a relationship. There are other potential lovers which are thrown into the mix and over time the main character discovers romantic merits about them. They are both great comedies with the main character displaying desirable qualities such as loyalty and chivalry. If you're looking for another romantic comedy with the same vibe, I'd definitely recommend checking this out!

both anime have similar gag, school life and often use to cite other anime or film, the main characters are always in absurd situations and most of the characters are crazy! if you enjoy school rumble, seto no hanayome is a good alternative

Mermaids and squid both come from the sea. This is MAL and that's enough to justify linking the two. Yes. ... It's also worth noting that both series consist almost entirely of gagtastic slapstick comedy. Mermaid Bride has romance and haremish humour powering a hefty chunk of its jokes, where as Squid Girl has its titular heroine and is devoid of love-love... aside from a lesbian stalker. But those minor differences aside, these two are aimed at 100% the same crowd.

When i watch Arakawa it totally reminds me of Seto no Hanayome, it gives me the same feeling. It has the same humor and both Anime have to do with Water and a Boy whos together with the Girl through an accident where the Girl saved the Boy. The only difference is that the Boy in Seto no Hanayome must marry the Girl and in Arakawa he shall just be her Boyfriend.

Both series employ a similar type of humor that is a mix of parody and over-exaggeration of character personalities. This goes in line with the fact that Both series employ a very dynamic and well-defined set of characters. Seto no Hanayome has a slight focus on harem jokes and romantic comedy parody. Binbougami is more focused on the struggling personality of the main character. Fans of the comedy style presented in Seto no Hanayome will definitely enjoy Binbougami and vice versa.

The same story about a boy, who accidently met up with a girl through some weird process except in "Ah! My Goddess, the person got a girl through a phone call.
report Recommended by Flutpiano
Both animes share the same premise, a boy, not especially popular, suddenly finds himself surrounded by girls interested in him. A lot of the visual gags usually arising from misunderstandings, which result in the boy getting beaten up and called a pervert, are also present in both series.

The similarity between these two series exist not only in genres (comedy, romance, and parody), but also in execution.
report Recommended by radiantfire
Both are outright hilarious with a great supporting cast backing up the mains..... Although the setting and premise are different both have non-human beings living amongst the regular humans allowing for some funny and clever situations!
report Recommended by BladerJC
Both series use absurd and random jokes and humor. There is very few things that are shown seriously (well In Nichijou there are none I suppose). Difference: more parodies based on TV or mass-media in Seto, but in both case it simply works.
report Recommended by Dalek-baka
I couldn't help but remember Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu when I started watching Seto no Hanayome. Both are high-school romance comedy in which everything is allowed to go crazy. Both anime are fun, random, and hilarious.
report Recommended by rEn-00
"Umi Daaaaa!~" - Sanzein Nagi Actually both shows have somehow with water, see, ocean... an mermaids!. Plots might be far away from each other but their still both comedy and a little bit of romance stories. Oh, and both have lots of nudity for those who like ecchi. even the drawing style (specially the eyes) look alot alike.

Both anime have a human protagonist that stumbles upon the secret world of monsters and mythical beings. Both protagonists are bound to a female companion through a close encounter and is constantly pursued by other girls his age. Both anime revolve around school life and trying to keep a secret, R + V that Tsukune is a human and in SnH that Sun is a mermaid. Where they are different is if you take away the ecchi of R + V and replace it with the parody that SnH has. R + V has a more serious plot, while SnH is more simple. Both are really  read more

premise of force marriage, with some very well put together comedy and entertaining plot. They both are also comedy/ supernatural (aliens and mermaids) genre.

Although the two series do not have the same theme, the type of humour are very very similar (nearly identical). On top of that, the facial expressions Kenichi makes are very reminiscent of Nagasumi's. Also, Seto San does have many common point with Miu, as both have very strange mood swings and personalities. Kenichi's masters are very similar to the Seto family too.
report Recommended by wakka9ca
Both animes have a certain panache with humour that is SO wrong but insanely funny at the same time. There aren't many shows that can make me hurt cos I laughed so much.

Both about unfortunate boys that are forced into bad circumstances that make their everyday life a living hellXD They're are both crack humor as well^.^
report Recommended by Bluesnow
Comedy and romance! Somewhat similar stories and vibes about a boy who was coincidentally saved by a girl. This is where their romantic and fun journey begins.
report Recommended by keima00
Absurdity of the jokes Covers everything on their theme (Diving, Men being men, Youth life). In Seto no Hanayome (Gangster, Sea life, Parodies) Great interaction between all their members Absurd facial expressions
report Recommended by Firdaus_Rushdi
Both very similar in every aspect. A lot of weird humour and the typical "strange girl who falls in love with a boy who doesn't really seem to cope with that love".
report Recommended by koy
both have fast-paced, high energy humor, and the story of an ordinary boy and a supernatural girl bound to each other. Great comedies!
report Recommended by Anontastic
Both about normal unfortunate males that are thrown into a random marriage with a not so human bride and go through hell because of their crazy family and friendsxD Very random and funny.

Main characters have very similar characters. Style of humor is the same in both anime :D. Both anime are about little girl which have some problems and about a boy who help them, and only thing he get for that is pain :D

The anime has the same kind of art style and comedy traits that seto no hanayome If you like seto no hanayome then you will definitely like Yamato nadeshiko shichi henge or known as Wallflower

Very similars stories. Humor level is very good. You wont stop laugh durning all epizods.

In both series, a boy gets stuck to a girl (with special abilities). The biggest difference is the way these boys react on the girl, even though their feelings are somewhat similar. Both series are comedy romances (with a little drama) and I truly enjoyed both of them.
report Recommended by Alinhje
Both series are absurd comedies dealing with the supernatural in particular the theme of mermaids. While Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san seems to lack romance, both series has tons of humorous moments that are often presented by the characters. The main male protagonist also meets the main female protagonist in an absurd way and they have an absurd relationship. If you're looking for a fun series for some great laughs, check out these two titles.

very similar humour and even has Urusei Yatsura references
report Recommended by metrocide
Both series have the protag trying to keep a secret for the main heroine or else something bad will happen. Also as time goes on both protags have to keep more peoples secrets as the series progresses. Jitsu wa Watashi wa has vampires and aliens, while Seto no Hanayome has mermaids. Overall both are really good series, and I think you will enjoy both.

These two anime has similar style and both of them contains over the top humor. You will be rolling on the floor and cry with laughter if you watch any of them!
report Recommended by ninjadante
The main characters for both shows are very similar. They get in really "awkward" situations and pretty much every girl has a crush on them. Both shows are very funny. He is My Master contains more ecchi than Seto no Hanayome, but aside from that they're pretty similar in harem comedic fun.
report Recommended by Xinil
The same humor level! Ok, there are barely any similarity about the storie or art, but both are really funny. If you give them a try to any of both, you will be laughing for long!!
report Recommended by NoHeart
Similar art styles and humour in both shows, both shows have a blossoming romance between an 'ordinary' guy and an extraordinary girl, both shows also rely on inflicting pain on the male lead as a vehicle for humour. Dokuro-Chan by and large is more graphically violent and a lot more sexually explicit then Seto no Hanayome..
report Recommended by Heart_of_Storm
Think of Magikano as SnH, only watered down with a lot of echi. Or the other way around: SnH is a distiled Magikano with ten times the laughter and a much better ending.
report Recommended by Warll
Well, how can I say it? Basically, both of this anime's voice acting are really spot on that it amplifies the comedic atmosphere by a thousand percent.
report Recommended by _Solace
Both final Approach and Seto no Hanayome are very similar, the main characters are forced into arrange marriage, which both girls are perfectly content with and seek the guys affection. They are both funny and dramatic also have a satisfactoire ending to them, they are really enjoyable to watch and have strong and honest personalities!. like the both guys are stuborn and wants a troubled free life and both girls are even suborner and are kind hearted yet dramaticly determin. So if you enjoy these kinds of animes like I do <3 seto no Hanayome (my bride is a Mermaid) then you wont be disappointed! :)
report Recommended by amandacrystal3
SPOILER ALERT! They're pretty similar as they have to get married or betrothed to one another due to accidental circumstances (like the ML finding out about something that a human should not know about). The FLs are strong characters (and are both not human) and the MLs are kind and supportive.
report Recommended by lediamante
They both have a similar vibe so far. Both are rom-coms where the bride's family is full of colorful characters.
report Recommended by TheAcePlays
Both feature a normal mc whose life takes a turn for the supernatural when a beautiful girl shows up. Both have a hilarious and likable cast of main and side characters that made me roll on the floor laughing. The animation is very expressive and that makes the comedy scenes 10 times funnier. The tone for both the shows is so similar that if you liked one of them I guarantee you'll like the other.

If you like the type of comedy in B Gata H Kei, then you'll certainly also like Seto no Hanayome.

Both shows have lots of comedy and romance. Sakurasou seems to be a bit more romance focused, but they still have a lot in common with the comedy scenes
report Recommended by Nepgyaaaa
They're both funny and the dubs won't give you cancer. Main difference is Sora no Otoshimono will leave you with a semi.
report Recommended by Resham
Both revolve around a guy surrounded by cute non-human women all competing for a male human's affection. They both also are pretty funny, with similar types of lighthearted/perverted humor. They're both on netflix, have similar characters, etc.
report Recommended by seanm826
In both of them, the main character meets a deity/mermaid while on the edge of dying and hilarity ensues. Noragami is little darker in comparison to Seto No Hanayome, however both of them have their fun filled moments and the anime art style. Noragami also relies on fantasy a lot and has a good amount of action. There is a whole lot of material from the first episode to make you laugh your heart out.
report Recommended by JeremiahOrange
- They just gives you similar vibes. - Both female leads are just sooooo cute. - They both are considered as comedy. Although reason behind this is different, In case of Karin its about "awkwardness" and in case of Seto no Hanayome it is simply a comedy with touch of parody - They both have inter-species but "Kawai" romance. *Spoiler Alert* ( I Guess so,,, ) - Last few episode will make you cry, and then at the very end you will enjoy a moment filled with love. Last but not the least - They both have dominating Mother-in-law.

Both guys in these anime was save by the female protagonist in their first meeting. Both are harem, romance, comedy, and action. Both anime are definitely worth watching! You'll definitely enjoy every single episode of it. The difference between these two anime is that the girl in Dragon Crisis is a Dragon while the girl in Seto no Hanayome is a Mermaid!
report Recommended by bloody_Venus55
Both shows contain comedy that relies heavily on over exaggeration/loudness. They are both very hyper shows. Also contains an MC that is forced to live in this crazy lifestyle, rather than being there by choice
report Recommended by Short_Circut
Nyaruko-san and Seto are both revolve around mythological girls (Cthulhu and Mermaids) and ordinary male MCs. The second season of Nyaruko-san (W) is particularly intense in parodies which is also a central theme of Seto.
report Recommended by Manganatic
This two shows are directed by Seiji Kishi and the scripts are written by Makoto Uezu. As a result we get the same random over the top humor. There are good chances that if you like one, you'll like the other. These guys should stick to comedy. I'm desperate to find something as Hilarious as Seto no Hayanome and at least Carnival Phantasms comes close even though they are thematically worlds apart.
report Recommended by Ysad_Ziwezhan
Parody is the essence of both shows. The male MCs share the similarity that they began as weak characters, but became strong in order to protect the female MCs.
report Recommended by Manganatic
Both shows frequently use over the top humor as well as fast-paced action for comedy. Similarly, they both contain a wide cast of characters each with a unique personality that stays the same throughout the show
report Recommended by Short_Circut
In both shows, the main character gets engaged in the first episode without their consent. Their fiancé and associated people move into their house and start living with them and attending their school. There are also a lot of supernatural aspects in both. Both shows are very funny, although their humor is quite different. Mikakunin involves mostly comedy among the female characters, while a large part of the humor in Seto is due to the male characters. Despite both shows being about an engaged couple, neither focus too much on romance and rely on comedy instead. They both do have some romance, but that is  read more

the guy is forced into a funny relationship with the girl by the girl/girl's family

Both anime show some weird or "fate" encounter that makes an ordinary boy into a husband of a not normal bride. Both anime is kinda funny, but to love-ru series is more of a sexual jokes, in the other hand seto no hanayome is more like "stupid" jokes.
report Recommended by NEKOKAMI_Sama
Both shows are fast-paced, goofy comedies with a generous dose of action. There is romance in both, though much more in Seto no Hanayome as the name would suggest (My Bride is a Mermaid). I found the characters more endearing in Yoshinaga-san'chi no Gargoyle, but I think Seto no Hanayome was funnier. If you enjoyed one, you would probably like the other as well.
report Recommended by ccorn
Both shows contain overly exaggerated comedy, more so than you'll see in average gag shows. They both also use loudness and facial expressions as the primary source of comedy
report Recommended by Short_Circut
If you like small girls who say 'desu' at the end of every sentence, you will like both of these! Maki and Suiseiseki are voiced by the same person, as well.
report Recommended by FurMetarArkemist
Fast paced humor with over the top characters. Although not up to the caliber of SnH, Magician's Academy certainly has the same "random," fast paced humor.

Change the gods in Kannagi into mermaids, add a serious 'chivalry' obsession to Nagi, and you've got Seto no Hanayome. They are both hilariously wacky, have amazing character designs, and have very similar character personalities. There's the childhood friend, the bipolar idol, the crazily cute main, and other personalities you'll find in both animes. If you've seen one, I recommend watching the other right away!
report Recommended by Light4494
If you are a fan of over the top shoujo tropes than you've come to the right place: both of these shows are comedies with random hilarious moments where you have: - Love triangles - Mafia troupe - Muscled men wearing sailor uniforms - The power of love saving the day - Bombs... Explosions. - Idols singing - Cute girl that transforms into an extremely manly man when its necessary. - Yuri and BL trope XD In resume, if you want anime that makes no sense but it will make you laugh, try these!
report Recommended by Orulyon
The storylines are very different, but both are about a boy who discover that thing called "the magic of first love". Seto no Hanayome is more comedy, while Nazo no Kanojo X is more... well, a weird but cute slice-of-life.

Penguin Musume = on half is a parody serial. Seto no Hanayome = is the most parody serial ever! so u must! ^__^ see it) *many jokes, parodies, unforgettable serial ^.^

Well both are supernatural anime. Ordinary guy meets supernatural girl. Both shows have romance, Shakugan no Shana has more action and Seto no Hanatome more comedy. Awesome shows!

The World of Narue and Seto no Hanayome both focus on the romantic yet quirky relationships between a spineless teenage boy and his supernatural girlfriend (in Hanayome, it's the main character's wife, but you get the idea). Both female leads appear to be the ones "leading" the relationship while the leading males constantly watch their backs for any aliens or yakuza mermen tracking them down. The supernatural elements of both shows seem like afterthoughts put in to make the shows more interesting, but if you like the combination of high school romance and fantasy/supernatural action but want something a little funnier, give Seto no Hanayome  read more

While Seto no Hanayome doesn't have mechs or really anything comparable to them in the anime, what it does have is the same general atmosphere as Gurren Lagann. What I got out of both animes was the fact that both are just so off the wall that you can't help but find your self just laughing. If you're looking for another anime that just throws all reason out the window and want to laugh your ass off I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Seto no Hanayome.

Both series have a side character who usually goes around wearing a spacesuit, often to comedic effect unintentional on their part. Come on, you can't say you see this often.
report Recommended by Numi
They both involve romances between inexperienced young children and the characters are both very similar. Nagasumi looks incredibly like Sakai Yuji and is as weak and uncertain of the circumstances as he is. Mawari Zenigata looks like Matake Ogata, both strong tomboys and Seto San vaguely resembles Shana, though personalities greatly differ.
report Recommended by geistmod
the comedy and the romance are really similar, they both receive drama ending but they got happily ever after though the love hina is ecchi.

Both contain protagonists that are first reluctant to get into relationships with the female protagonist but in the end they realize that they need them and fight to get them back.

just the fact that they overpowered the random parodies and people can't stop laughing at them. Also because of the whole force marriage thing. All in all, 2 awesome animes i'd like to compare to one another!

Both this anime is seriously FUNNY!! Seto no Hanayome is more visual comedy with face expression etc. Seitokai Yakuindomo is lots of dirty jokes and they just keep on coming. I loved both and you should too

The roles are somewhat reversed but both Seto no Hanayome and Blood involves a normal main character whose life changes after an abnormal day when they meet a supernatural being. From there on, they have a strange relationship in their worlds. There is a lot of humor and comedy as well as references in both series. In fact, it makes usage of these to entertain viewers. There is hints of romance that is accompanied with humor. Along with that, both series contains supernatural elements that are out of the normal world.

Same type of slapstick humor, ridiculous and pretty random plot.Similar main character in both shows, both of them have refference to an other anime. And of course both of them are ridiculous and funny as hell!

The boy meets the girl and both of their lives changes slowly. as their relationship deepens. They mature and their personalities changes. Both series has mostly romance and comedy, but Clannad focuses much more on romance than comedy and vice versa for Seto. Setting are rather similar, as both are set in a school. Also there is everyone favorite, harem.

While watching Kyou no Go Ni got the same feeling as watching Seto no Hanayome, the endless, good comedy, and expressions the main character makes are hilarious. If you enjoyed one you should watch another one too. Won't be disapointed.

Comedy! Comedy! Comedy! Both are romantic comedy, atleast to me. Both have relatively the same portion of comedy vs romance (although it does depend on the situation), however while seto no hanayome have more of the "over the top" kind of comedy, HnG focuses more on gags and little jokes.

Both have similar comedy styles, are the same genre, and even share some plot points, such as having two characters from two different "worlds".
report Recommended by robfoster
Lots of episodes that are based on the comedy, and lots of random action here and there, Seto No Hanayome has some romance here and there but not a major point in the anime, Lucky Star doesn't have the romance but makes it up for the laughs and the things we see in life brought into anime
report Recommended by ChiiSuu
Although the two are about two entirely different things, Nyan Koi! about cats, and Seto no Hanayome about mermaids. However, both have similar genres like they're both romance-comedies and harems. Also both involve the main character getting into some sort of life threatening danger.
