Similarities between these two shounen serialisations include: characters with unique abilitites which they oftentimes use for combat; the emphasis placed on comradery; and a vast world for exploration. Moreover, both share very similar art and narrative styles.

Two people both struggling to become stronger. They each go through trials and tribulations to get to their "goals". Action, martial arts, each are action packed with both.

The main character Gon and Luffy are very similar. They'd do anything for their friends and they arn't the smartest people in the world. Also they are both searching for something.

With a lot of action and detailed story, One Piece and Kingdom has many similarities with each other. Both series follows a main male protagonist who has a set goal in mind. There is a lot of characterization present in their story. Additionally, relationship building and background stories are a pivotal point to both series' success. Expect plenty of plot twists, fighting tactics, and a world with vast capabilities.

Imaginative characters, locales, and animals are highlights of these two series. Both are fun to read due to the creativity of the authors.

Mixes humour with fantastical action-adventure storyline. Unlike a lot of shounen, not every character is a teenager; you have a mix of ages and backgrounds (so again, not everyone is at school or some form of ninja school...) which adds a richness to the setting and a feeling that it's more than just generic wish-fulfilment crap like Bleach and Naruto.

-same level of mystery and unsolved questions -huge lore and worldbuilding

It begins as an epic adventure with friends travelling, from island to island, from dungeon to dungeon, but soon it becomes a bigger issue that involve world domination, civil wars and abuse against the weak.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
It's endless, awesome and really funny. You can't help but love the main characters stupidity and intelligence.
reportRecommended by ChibiAyane
A classical adventure set up where the main characters are "the bad guys", criminals wanted by the government. Very traditional shounen, with the typical battles, special abilities and powers, and character's dreams. Very enjoyable.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
Both series have the primordial element to begin an adventure: search for something/someone. Both series have a cast of characters that form a party. Both series have a linear argument in which mysteries are used. Worlds or broad universes. Both series have a mechanism for combat skills.
reportRecommended by Javohotell
Both utilize epic plots with extensive foreshadowing and subtle development as well as taking a slower pace to give focus to adventure, fantasy and character development.

They both have the same feel and comedy. Soul Eater is about shinigami's and One Piece is about pirates but their comedy and the idea of pushing ones self to be great is seen in both mangas. If you like One Piece you will defintely like Soul Eater and vice versa.

Both mangas just keep getting better and better, both authors dedicates everything they have into the manga. In Kubera the mood is more tragedy-like while in One piece it's easy-going but both of them can and will make u shiver from excitement. The advanture in both mangas is tremendous and amazing, the world is interesting and never-ending, you can never get enough of it, the storyline is always at it's best, the sad moments will make u shed tears and the happy moments will bring a huge smile up ur face. Kubera and One piece are very similar and both mangas are a masterpiece in every way  read more

Although the theme of Reborn! and One Piece are entirely different, the values they represent are quite similar. For instance, you have the whole concept of "family" in Reborn! which complimenets One Piece's notion of a "nakama". Another similarity is that you have various organisations - different mafia groups in Reborn! as oppose to different pirate groups in One Piece. In addition, each character, in both mangas, tends to have a specific way of fighting. Thus, highlighting another similarity found between Reborn! and One Piece.

Both series depict a group of weird outlaws who travel the world and help people, liberating towns and nations by defeating corrupt elites and bloodthirsty leaders, which feels very satisfying. Both protagonists are very charismatic and likeable, they have the power to inspire people they meet and make powerful allies everywhere they go. There are also similarities between the characters, Yun/Nami, Hak/Zoro, Jaeha/Sanji... Both groups have somewhat similar family-like dynamics with plenty of fun interactions between the members, like Hak and Jaeha teasing each other the way Zoro and Sanji do.

Main Similarities: •Both main characters in the series (Luffy from One Piece and Asta from Black Clover) share many similarities. They also have the catch phrase where they want to be the best. (ex. Luffy says, "He'll be the Pirate King" while Asta says, "He'll be the Sorcerer Emperor"... every time! So it'll be annoying.) •The main characters have the "never give up attitude." •Similar genres (action, comedy, fantasy, etc.) •Both serialized by Shounen Jump (Weekly), so you'll know it'll be great. •Both are long series. As of June 13 2016, One Piece has 827 chapters while Black Clover only has 65 (it has significantly less chapters since Black Cover is still  read more

The main hero goes on a great adventure for a grand prize. Both manga have distinct/strange art styles, lots of quirky characters, insanely creative powers, and plots involving shady government secrets.

The cast of main characters have a lot in common, both main characters set out on a journey for a certain goal, only to make more friends and comrades to join them.

If you like one piece for the adventure, fun times, cool characters and friends made along the way then Galaxias is right up your alley, it's only got a few chapters right now so read it before it gets uber popular, the characters are fantastic and the story of galaxias seems great thus far

Honestly speaking, if you were to combine Zoro and Luffy into one person (characteristics) you would probably get Oga Tatsumi which is the main character of Beelzebub. Oga's close hand combat will remind you of Luffy's way of fighting and his special rubber attacks for an example the rocket punch later seen. The eyes of seriousness and his attention span is very similar to Zoro's characteristics to the point you'll feel like it's some sort of dejavu. Ah and Zoro's green hair is also applied to the infant. Coincidence? Perhaps. Anyways I highly recommend this to any One Piece lovers. The stories are different however  read more

Both series tells about a adventure around the world (from Japan to Egypt in JoJo and from East Blue to Raftel in One Piece). Similiar fightinig abilities and the main characters have both a funny grandpa who has a lot great fights in the past. And in main crew of both are a Frenchman who is nice to ladies.

If I were to describe Haikyuu!! in a single sentence to a friend, I'd call it the One Piece of Sports anime. Everyone knows One Piece. One Piece is an action anime that revolves around a no-name pirate who dreams big, makes an impact will not falter in his goal, has friends/crewmates who argue and get into funny situations (and pull hilarious faces) and much more in a epic story with some rivals and villains that you can't help but love because each character is so unique. And that also describes Haikyuu!! pretty well, too. Just replace "action" with "volleyball", "no-name pirate" with "short guy  read more

both have a good story telling and lots of action. although the action in Ares is more fast pace and has less senseless talking in the middle of a fight sequence. and the art is more of a sketch then One Piece but once you get used to the art you may realize that it gives more depth to the fight sequences.

Mori Jin - Luffy (they are both dumb and kind) Daewi han - Zoro (both serious and second best) Mi-ra - Nami (both are strong woman, angry, they are really similar if not same) Both are good action and interesting adventure, they are not similar with stroy or powers, but they are really similar with characters.

Very similar characters - a goofy, stupid, monkeyish main character with mad skillz and lots of luck, a weapon master (Jigen and Zolo) and a treacherous, sexy female thief.

Both involve a fantasy world full of pirates with its own lore and both have a hot blooded but dumb protagonist. You could even accuse Sunset Rose being a OP copy.

Only 6 chapters in and I can already feel Build King is going to be like One Piece. Similarities: Irregular world, species, house which carries like going merry, mentor like Shanks, end goal like wanna be Pirate King, Idiot yet pure heart MC, also the artwork is like old style.

The characters in Mar really resemble the main characters in One piece, one similarity is that they are all fighting for a goal. In Mar, it’s to bring peace to Mar by defeating the Chess Pieces in a fighting contest while in One Piece, it's to find One Piece the ultimate titular pirate treasure. ~Luffy and Ginta have similar personalities (being Shonen heroes) are both the leaders of their respective teams ~Zoro and Alviss both don't like the leader at first, but they eventually come to. Eiichiro Oda (the creator of One Piece) was once assistent to Nobuhiro Watsuki (the creator of Rurouni Kenshin), so this is a given. Similarities? They both have: * Insanely powerful swordsmen (Zoro mostly) * An entertaining cast of main characters * A friendly main character * A fiery female lead * Both gangs fight injustice * Sad backstories * Similar tastes in gags Differences: One Piece has less romance between main characters and focuses more on the adventure.

Both series have a combination of Shonen action, comedy, supernatural, and of course adventure. They both also have protagonists who do what they do just to have fun and go wild everywhere they go.
reportRecommended by JonnyBGud
Both involve pirates sailing the seas. The difference is that AC is a sci-fi alternate history story of the Golden Age of Piracy while OP is a fantasy that takes place in a world inspired by the Golden Age of Piraceu.
reportRecommended by JonnyBGud
An action comedy series that hinges around a ridiculously overpowered MC and his group of close allies. Story arcs gradually become more serious as the manga goes on. MC has an air of humor throughout that lends itself to many gags. Comes across simple and one-track-minded, but genuinely grows as a character.

Tales Of Demons and Gods is so underrated just because its a webmanga even tho the first few volumens have already been released physically. You should read it and then tell me what´s your opinion you wont regret it.

Both are fairly lighthearted. They also are structured similarly, with a larger overarching story complimented by smaller substories.

Weird and wacky with lots of fun, lovable characters, Wanted is a short story collection of some of Oda's earlier works before he started the legend that is now known as One Piece. This manga works as either a prequel or side-piece to that, (at least one of the stories are cannon to the One Piece universe) but it also stands out as it's own thing.
reportRecommended by Ethan2K
These two manga have a dark side to them, but can make room for great comedy as well! Some scenes are incredibly emotional, reveals can truly be shocking and thought far ahead. *Both authors have an amazing capability to make the story complete, tying things from the past to the present continuously as you read through them. *Both are masters of withholding information, not revealing everything in one go, but keep more for in the future. <>One Piece does not have as many jokes meant for adults as Golden Kamuy.

While Violence Jack is a lot more mature in its content, the narrative style between both mangas is very similar. Both start out with simple stories about groups of gangsters/criminals facing off against an unbeatable hero, who gains the appreciation of several characters as the story progresses, and those characters join the hero's side in order to reach their individual objectives. One Piece, like Violence Jack, also gradually transforms its initially simple plot into a larger, all-encompassing, story of wars and political conflicts, and the characters that originally only held some small influence on their surroundings now see themselves facing off against the largest forces  read more

Banana no Nana and One Piece have quite a lot in common, although both are rather unique and enjoyable in their own way. It starts out with a promise made in their childhood with a fatherly figure. For Luffy it's the promise with Shanks to be a pirate and surpass him (and find One Piece). For Nana and Ringo its the promise with Ringo's father to travel the world (and find Oz). At the age of 16 they all set out on an epic adventure, but soon have to face the first obstacles on their way to freedom. Both, Luffy and Nana, have seemingly - and comparatively  read more

Basically Luffy and Sawamura are wayyy too similar. Both titles focus on a baselessly confident mc trying to accomplish something that everyone else finds impossible. They share a large focus on camaraderie between characters.

They don't have similar characters, they don't have similar story lines but what they do have in common is what makes them both so good! They're both well written, both have good plots and both have good amount of characters that have their own stories! If you have read one, then try the other, you definitely will not be disappointed.

Well altough the feeling is not pretty much the same till now, you may find a lot of similarities with one piece. If you like stories that revolve around "nakama", wanted posters and a party of people that try to fight the evil this is another good answer for the " what to read next " dilema!

These two series are different in a lot of ways, but they have a few things in common. For one, both have heavy doses of high quality action and comedy. In both manga, the comedy and the action are often intermingled to the degree that it's hard to separate one from the other. Both manga have somewhat ridiculous characters. Finally, the art quality in OP and AM increases substantially over time, and both art styles take some getting used to. Neither is the typical manga style. Pirates, adventure, and friendship are the main themes of Lindbergh and One Piece. Lindbergh follows a crew of "sky pirates," while One Piece has sea pirates. Lindbergh has a main character called "Captain Shark" who resembles some characters in One Piece for literally having shark teeth. Both manga are full of endearing characters, fantastical creatures, and old legends.

Action/Adventure where both protagonist venture to unknown land in search for artifacts. Meeting various people with abilities and gaining comrades/allies along the way. Arata tends to focus more on the character development whilst One Piece is much focus on the adventure and battle though both share common theme.

Both are to do with the main character wanting to be a king and also having to fight will a variety of people with different skills along the way. They have a similar feel to them, even though they are two completely different worlds.

Both anime's deal with several of the same issues, tho', they're done completely different. Main characters both use long-distance attack in almost the same style, while most of the characters look a like, and the plot has some issues that are the same. Both are completely different, yet, they give off that same vibe.

This may seem like a far-fetched recommendation but really One piece and Noblesse do have things in common. For example both mangas: Luffy gets enemies to be his friends ~ Rei gets enemies to be his friends Frankenstein is a loyal friend to Rei ~ Luffy's crew are loyal friends to Luffy Main characters (Rei and Luffy) are always causing trouble for their friends Friends usually fulfill outrageous eccentric demands of main character (master/captain) Overall both One piece and Noblesse have gag and are HILARIOUS. Fantasma is a new series, but seems to me to be quite similar to One Piece. Both involve main protagonists whose main goal is to become the top of their field, both involve humorous story telling and action, and both seem to be targeted at a teenage audience.

The style of action in One Piece and Full Ahead! Coco is very similar, featuring lots of intense attacks from a cast of pretty silly, likable characters. The character design in One Piece is perhaps a bit sillier, but the two series tend to scratch that same itch. Most of all, though, the pirate atmosphere in each series is also very similar, with a focus on comradery and togetherness.

A group of people go on a journey to find something, by traveling to many different places (worlds). Characters gain many things, experience new things, and deepen bonds with others. Both reads can get emotional at times, confusing at some times, and fun at many times. Characters are similar to one another, there is a swordsman, an animal, and one who uses kicks in each group. Both reads are enjoyable, if you've read one and enjoyed it, you may like the other.

While at a first glance these manga seem to have almost nothing in common, a person who enjoys One Piece will certainly enjoy reading Detective Conan.
