I've talked to others and most seem to suggest "it gets better" in 12-20 episodes. That's a lot of time and granted, I've seen animes build full, deep story lines in under one episode. Frankly, I'm not into One Piece pacing.
If you think Vinland Saga season 1 was exclusively hack and slash action, it appears you may be the one sorely misunderstanding.
The problem is, with season 2 as many others have said, it goes on full Slice of Life-like. This is a turn off for many who got into the anime for what it was back in season 1. We saw this happen, to some extent, with Attack on Titan for example.
That's the exact feeling I got from watching it. It's an interesting world they've built but characters and events are kind of developing too fast. But slight pacing issues are not uncommon in anime, especially if they go for 12 episodes instead of 24. So I thought they are rushing things a bit to fit them into those episodes. Turns out they cut it in half and now all I have is questions.
Am usually not the guy who goes and reads manga after watching anime, but this time I am so tempted to do so. Whole thing made me hyped up for the continuation only for it to not go anywhere right away. Talk about teasing. Thanks for reaching out with your advice.
