Tokyo Revengers

When the MC is about to die or is in a very tight spot so does he suddenly travel back in time to his school days temporarily, to change the past in order to save both himself and a girl in his class that has been murdered in the current timeline, as well as to finds the murderer behind all this mess. 

Keeping it simple, if you like thrillers that have you playing detective on the edge of your seat, look no further.  

Both protagonists have the power to travel back in time. Both of their powers have triggered in the same way. Other than that, they also have similar goals which is to save a girl. 

Tokyo Revengers is using Boku Dake's take on time travel and raison d'être (solving and preventing a murder). While Boku Dake ga Inai Machi is unquestionably a masterpiece - a tour de force of racing hearts, gasping lungs and neckhairs on end - Tokyo Revengers folds into a classical delinquent drama of so-so quality. Comparing them is a tad unfair: Tokyo Revengers is a good watch, Boku Dake is just so much further ahead that the average "good watch" seems like a terrible idea. If you like Tokyo Revengers, you will likely love Boku Dake. Not necessarily the other way around.  

Both have an incredibly similar premise of the main character reverting back to their childhood and swapping back and forth between the young and the old to solve a mystery surrounding the murder of a girl. Tokyo Revengers has a setting surrounding a character who is a delinquent. So, his major hurdle is being able to solve a mystery while in a gang. Erased is the simple fact that the guy went way too far back and is little kid. As it currently stands, the main difference aside from the obvious difference in setting between the two stories is that Erased is actually finished whereas Tokyo Revengers' plot is ongoing. The idea of trying to resolve a mystery through the barrier of time by itself is the main reason to watch either as it forces the main characters to work with extremely limited resources and capabilities to achieve this. read more 

Both have the same premise, time travel to save a girl. TR has better characters, Erased better mystery. 

The 2 anime have main characters, in their mid to late 20s, who have both received a power which enables them to go back in time to crucial points in their childhood to which had caused murders in their present time. Both characters star out with holes in their personality left unchallenged since childhood and are put in a position where they must confront themselves and the danger brewing from their youth.  

Both follow a main character who travels back in time to save a friend/love interest who has passed away.  

The main characters in both series are going back in time to save someone. Erased is a mystery filled with crime and supernatural elements, while TR is an action about teenagers who are delinquents, and both are revolving around one female character which they are trying to save. 

In the massive world of time travel stories, these two series decide to take the same approach by having the male main character go back in time and save a female character from none other than fate itself.  

I’m not kidding. These two shows are SO similar at the start. Based on time-travel, the main characters travel back in time in order to try to save someone dear to them. Although it starts quite similar, the plot-line quickly begins to start to differ. While the main character of Tokyo Revengers, Takemichi Hanagaki focuses on his life as a delinquent, building relationships in the progress of his time travel, Erased focuses more on the mystery behind death which forcing the MC, Satoru Fujinuma to time travel. However, if you like the time travel aspect, I definitely recommend you try the other! 

Protagonist jumps back in time to avert the horrible present. Similar stuff, just less drama and crying in Erased. 

Both EXACTLY has the same premise and concept. The main protagonist literally dying in the first episode due to some murderer on the loose and then magically going back to the past for an unknown reason, giving him a chance to find the said murderer.  

Similar premise, executed differently. 

Same concept of time traveling to save a person who was murdered in the current timeline. Erased is more about school life and the mystery behind the murder. Tokyo Revengers focuses on Takemichi's life as a gangster and in the gang Toman. 

I might be a little early into the series but the concept seems to be about the same, i just hope the series is able to achieve what ERASED couldn't. 

The similarities between Erased and Tokyo Revengers are uncanny. Both stories start with a main character filled with regrets in life and was suddenly given an ability to go back in time. The plot of both shows also revolve around saving a certain female individual. Even though their narrative may have distinct resemblances, there are also numerous differences between the two titles. The most striking one is the fact that Tokyo Revengers is a gang/delinquent anime compared to the standard elementary school setting present in Erased. Nonetheless if you enjoyed the mystery and time-traveling aspects of Erased, then you'll definitely like Tokyo Revengers. 

Just as I thought, Erased was best plot twist I've ever watched and it is similar with Tokyo Revengers but of course you better watch it for yourself.  

One day a girl who the MC knew when he was a child is killed. He then starts going back in time to save her from being murdered. Same premise pretty much. 

They are both shows are about time travel, specifically saving someone's life by changing the past. 

If you enjoyed Erased you might like Tokyo Revengers aswell, They are both about going back in time, redoing something, and trying to stop something from happening, theyre both great shows.

similar concepts. travel back in time to save loved ones. both animes/manga handle time travel differently. they're very different from each other in terms of story-wise. Every episode I watched of both, I was always at the end of my seat and excited for the next episode. TR is more gang-related and, I would say, higher stakes compared to Erased. The soundtrack of both is great, especially the openings. the mcs are very different but somewhat similar, ig. takemichi pisses me off but also makes me cry with him :( both are great but if they didn't fuck up the ending to erased, imo erased would be better.  

Have a similar theme of time travel to save someone. 

The protagonists are failed adults, with no success in their lives and with many regrets. However, there is an opportunity to fix the past by acting differently, and it can fix the mistakes of years ago. - Both go back in time and go to the present a few times. - When they are young again, they dedicate themselves to the maximum to save a girl and other people. - Both are more serious animes that portray normal life and the consequences of their actions. The ups and downs of life.

Watching the first episode of this screamed,ERASED to me and so I thought of erased. They're both about a grown guy that goes back to his past to save a friend or his lover. In the case of Erased he goes back to when he was in elementary or grade school. Word of warning tho,bring some tissues when you're going to watch this. Well depends on how you take it but seriously give Erased a watch if you like animes similar to Tokyo Revengers

They do have a lot of similarities, more then the few I've mentioned, that being said they're also quite different from each other but that only makes it better.

-Both MCs consider themselves to have "failed at life" and have someone important to them die, but are given a second chance by being sent into the past. -Both involve stopping murders in the past to save the person important to them. -Both have romance bits. -They make new friends when in the past, which gives them more lives to save in the future.

SO OKAY. The story line is kinda similar, the plot is really interesting. So if you love time leaping series this recommendation is for ya 

The base concept of going back in time to when you were a kid in order to prevent murders is very similar, but I think most people will find something to like in either of these. 

Both are about a guy who goes back in time to save a girl. Tokyo Revengers decides to spice it up a bit by adding gangs, delinquents, and just brute-looking 15-year-olds. If you liked Erased I highly recommend Tokyo Revengers as it's just a more crazy version with awesome ass characters, and if you liked Tokyo Revengers then I recommend Erased so much as it did the same premise but more focused also no cry baby mc this time 

Going back in time. Fix mistakes he made in the past. The danger that awaits him in the past and in the present. He tries to save those he likes. 

You just have to watch it to see the similarity. Both heroes goes back in time to save a girl that they ve forgotten about in the present. 

Both have a similar plot. In both animes, the main protagonists travel back in time to save a certain someone. Along the way, they face many life threatening situations. Erased is a mystery based anime in which the mc has to find the killer. You can binge-watch it in a single day. While Tokyo Revengers involves gang wars and is still on-going. I recommend watching both. You will have the time of your life.

The theme of travelling back in time and changing the present is common for both anime, however, ERASED focuses more on a mystery/psychological story while TOKYO REVENGERS focuses on a action/school drama type of story. 

Both are similar in a few ways for example time travelling into the past to save someone and if you loved erased then you should give it a shot! 

They are both great time travel animes packed with sci-fi and action, Tokyo Revengers is about a boy going into the past to save his girlfriend and Erased is about a boy going into his past to save his classmate. I personally reccomend Tokyo revengers because it has school motorcycyle gangs and the fights are amazing. If you want to go with something more thriller go with erased becasue it has some crazy plot twists and is a binge-worthy series.

Very similar concept, the main character goes back in time to fix his mistakes but runs into a lot of obstacles. The difference is that Tokyo Revengers is about gangs and Erased isn't. Both of them are really good, they're some of my favorites. 

Both anime are working on the similar concept with same MCs goal as to save his close ones by travielnig to past and changing future. - Supernational / Drama driven story  

Erased is really similar to Tokyo Revengers in that the MC goes back in time as his much younger self. The difference is that Erased has more "mysterious" vibes to it, in that he tries to figure out the killer/kidnapper in the story. 

Similar concept of adult going back in time into body of his younger self and tries to change the past to save a girl he loves, Furthermore Tokyo revengers is more in a way that shows you about friendship, Squad battles and Action scene but Erased is more in a way that shows you about "heavy" Dramatic scene and Character development.

In Tokyo Revengers the plot is based around saving someone’s life by travelling back in time in an unknown way. That synopsis is basically the same as the synopsis of the Boku dake ga Inai Machi.

They are the same anime, and both are good. A little bit change has the story, but if you liked the Tokyo Revengers, you will like the Erased

Both of them have the same main plot (Rescuing someone's life), yet 'Boku dake ga Inai Machi' or ''Erased' has more depressed feelings from our main character "Fujinuma, Satoru". "Erased" came up with a simple premise for this series, but it has quite an excellent execution to end this series. 

MC uses the ability to go back in time in order to save the ones he loves. If you liked one of them and want to watch something similar, then there's a high chance you will like the other one. 

Both have the protagonist attempting to save his friends multiple times through the use of time travel. The MC suffers psychologically through multiple horrific events. The difference being Fantasy vs School 

Basically an anime where they can rewrite their life. They try and find a better result for their future, where they can go back in time if they needed to by doing the things that would trigger the time leap to happen

Despite having different scenarios and settings I love the part of the main character not giving up and retrying to get things right while suffering. Both of these series have the main character trying to fix something that already has happened.  

Reversing time gimmick. Both mc's cry a lot and give off the same weak vibe. The mc's also have similar goals(save everyone). Seem to have separate arcs

Time travel-ish premise and the writing makes viewers feel very hopeless at times as if there were no solutions available. 

Both shows aren`t really similar at story or genre, but Takemichi and Subaru are very similar protagonists, both have the power to time travel in time, which is more of a torture for them, also both are weak at fighting so mostly they get beated by the other characters, also both have the same motivation of saving a girl (Hinata in case of Takemichi, and depending of the situation Rem or Emilia for Subaru) 

Same concept, protagonist (and his emotions, feelings and development) and even execution but in different setting. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish between the two. 

Tokyo Revengers and Re:Zero are similar because they both a main character that dies and goes back in time to save another person. 

Definitely the best time-travel anime out there, no cap. The shows are about a guy saving his waifus/bros from dying. The show also has great side characters and main characters. 

Time travel related - Tokyo Revengers has currently have one season, season two will be released on January 2023 and the manga is finished! Worth the watch! In both shows the mc goes through some stuff so be prepared :) 

Both involve time traveling to save others (mostly because of a girl or the MC's closest friends). As an isekai however it involves harem and simps and the usual isekai stuff, but its story is also good and will have you hooked. 

Both mc's are weak compared to their peers, but still try to protect everyone especially one girl. They also both deal with going back in time, which allows them to change things for a more ideal future. 

in both anime, the protagonist travels back in time to save his loved ones, and faces difficulties. If you like time travel , then I advise you to watch these anime. 

Following a "damsel in distress" type of story, but presented in a modern way as it uses fictional scientific concepts to achieve just that. With that said, having some romance concept on a sci-fi show feels unique on its own; however, when one really watches these, then one would find out that there is more to these than what one could expect. Give it a try and see for yourself. 

Both Tokyo Revengers and Steins;gate have the time travel element and art both have to save the things they hold dear, they can't take their time either since there is a time limit, the protagonist in Tokyo Revengers has a lot of emotions and is pretty fleshed out I'd say so if you liked that aspect of Steins;gate then that's another thing to add to all of the wonderful takes on why it might be good for you! 

- Similar plot structure when it relates to time travel - Both have heavy emphasis on character development in order to progress themes and plot points - Heavy emotion in both. If you are a fan of the tragedy, both of these anime should appealing to you. - Main difference between the two is the tone of everything. Steins;Gate maintains a serious tone throughout, with the only lighthearted parts being the characters actions and speech. Tokyo Revengers juggles a balance between being set in middle school, but also in a gang, which both convey completely different tones. It does manage to do this quite well however, but personally I prefer a little more consistency as it can strengthen the contrast that the characters present as seen in Steins;Gate. read more 

Failing to save someone ended up having regrets but sometimes if you save them it will be ended up in a good way but sometimes in a bad way. Recommended to watch them.

Even if there are a few differences between these two, they both have that great element of travelling through time and the following consequences. With that I mean the protagonist changes something, goes back to the present and has to deal with the differences by changing stuff to get an "ultimate timleine". (sorry for my bad engllish explanation skills9 I just love these two because it is interesting to see what a minor change in the past can do yknow? AND THE CHARACTERS AHHHH the story of TR in general is outta this world in my opinion, because you suffer with the characters like they were real lol. It is by far my favourite anime yet lol, definitely watch worthy! read more

If you enjoy the time traveling concept, Steins;Gate definitely has a more established plot than Tokyo Revengers. Steins;Gate is however more scientific and technical, but is really one of the best anime ever created. 

Minor Spoilers !! Both have timetravel. Incase of steins gate they use a microwave but incase of tokyo revengers a mere handshake does the same. In both of them the changed past alters the memories of people in present (except the mc) sg is more scientific whereas tr has focused on gang fights

Even the method of time travel is very similar, being a handshake in Tokyo Revengers and a high five in Link Click -Both are highly suspenseful and will have you questioning what the ramifications of even the smallest mistakes of the protagonist will be -Both create tension by having the protagonists only have one chance to fix things; In Takemichi's case, he can only travel back to exactly 12 years ago, meaning if he screws something up he can never go farther back to fix it, and in Cheng Xiaoshi's case, each photo can only be used once read more 

similar way of time travel that is by handshake. one's a job , another's street gangs/ fights. both are highly entertaining, tokyo revengers has more action which is mostly delinquent oriented which is rare to be written in this decade.

Both non sci-fi time travel anime that has some heavy drama. 

For those who enjoy this stop of going back in time and changing the past so much and consequently the future, you won't regret seeing this one too. 

Similar premise of the main characters abilities. However in my opinion it's way better regarding the story/plot. 

gangs, fights, thrills, with two opposite Mc's. both are kinda dark has its own things to deal with. Highly enjoyable. 

Both have a similar setting with gangs and violence. And they both have overall some dark tones to their stories. 

They are both gangster stories and are kinda tragic 

Both have the same kind of story where you know that it won't end well, as you watch it the only thing that you want is for it to end quickly because it's the only way for the characters to be happy, but it continues, and every new arc makes the characters suffer more than the last, giving off a feeling of claustrophobia as you see no solution for a satisfying ending. 

This title have a lot of action just like banana fish, it have cool faights, and characters whitch their problems. imo tokyo revengers is not as dramatic as banana fish, and there isnt any phedophia or problems like that. but its a little bit similar

It's essentially "Tokyo Revengers," but better. "Wind Breaker" shares similarities with "Tokyo Revengers," focusing on protagonists striving for personal growth and overcoming challenges in their respective worlds. While both series emphasize character development and overcoming obstacles, they differ in setting and themes. "Tokyo Revengers" involves time travel and confrontations between motor gangs, whereas "Wind Breaker" centers around students in schools defending their neighborhood from rival gangs within a specific district. 

Great fights, delinquents doing delinquently things (in their own way!)  

Both are about high-school delinquents, gangs, fighting, brotherhood, friendships. 

Both anime explore the delinquent culture among Japanese high schoolers, where students often form gangs and engage in turf wars. The characters frequently interact with rival groups, and the central conflict revolves around these gang dynamics. In contrast, both series focus on this subculture. Both anime have distinct plots but share a similar underlying theme, focusing on the delinquent culture among Japanese high schoolers, where gang formation and rivalries play a central role.  

- Both of the mcs are members of gangs (e.g Dollars and Toman). - Mcs are involved with gang activity and other gangs. 

Drrr and Tokyo Revengers give the same vibes. -mc involved in gangs issues, -"weak" mc surrounded by stronger people, -gangs, gangs, gangs -both have "supernatural" elemnents, -both have a lot of intresting characters, -both have a highchoolers If you liked one, you will love the second.  

Both animes revolve around youth gangs, plotting, and huge casts. 

Middle and highschoolers involved in gangs 

MC in both animes are yankees. They are pretty fun show to watch. I recommended it for you.  

delinquents, fights, bonds. both are fun to watch with serious moments and fun ones too. although Tokyo revengers is kinda dark and kyou kara is comedic they both are peak delinquent shows. 

A hood classic, this some real black air force energy across the board. Both anime are based on old school japanese biker gangs and street fighting, and give a glimpse at the slice of life and action of such a lifestyle. Highly reccomend both. 

These animes have the "remaking the past" kind of plot wherein the protagonist should travel back at time and to change the feature by fulfilling their objectives and intentions. However, these two do not involve any scientific/technological devices in order to accomplish their mission. 

Both has male main character which can go back in time. They are both trying to correct mistakes they have made in the past. Same genre: drama.

Featuring a story about how a time-traveling concept can be used to save someone's life.  

Both of them are about a 26 years old main character who tries to save his lover with "time travels". But, of course, there isn't any fight, and there isn't action in Orange because it's a romance anime but it's still really good.

- Summertime Render and Tokyo Revengers time travel story line heavily connects to each other - The plot for both anime shows is very similar when taken from perspective 

• Both the anime centred around time travel. • Both are psychological thriller with lots of action. • Both the anime have lots of emotional moments.  

Animes for real men, about friendship and masculinity 

Both anime show that friendship and comaradery can flourish even in harsh environments, and both, despite taking place in different periods of time, feature juvenil delinquents as main characters, so you should expect a good ammount of fights. The main differences between both is that Tokyo Revengers has time travel and the protagonist is led rather by a romantic motive, while Rainbow shows the harsh life of prison in post-WWII Japan. 

Bad boys are also sad boys 

Both have: -Gang and crime focus -A protagonist only loosely affiliated with the gang HOWEVER IWGP Has way better action, a likeable MC who actually has agency, a heartwarming cast and better pacing. Overall if you, like me, found Tokyo Revengers overrated and average (Not good, not bad), this is the anime for you. There aren't many anime with the Delinquent/Gang focus but I'd still be wrong calling it the "next best thing" 

Both are interperet gangs with violence and good acts. Both have action in a way. They also both have good cliffhangers. 

Both MCs are deadbeats that somehow end up going back in time. Tokyo Revengers is more intense n involves a lot of delinquents/fight scenes, REALLY GOOD!!

Shounan Bakusouzoku is a tad more comedic than alot of Tokyo Revengers,but it is still pretty close to it in subject matter so it evens out in that regard. The action is pretty good in both shows! 

Both animes have delinquents and gangs that pick fights with other delinquents and gangs. Crows is mostly about a guy who just fights for no reason while Tokyo Revengers has more of a story why they'll fight. And while Tokyo Revengers is about a guy who isn't good at fighting is Crows about a guy who is one of the best fighters. 

Both have gangs, and rival gangs. They both can be sad. Both have good art work and are great shows Both have great openings Both have Revenge as a main theme.
