Was the laughing man arc resolved or not? I don't get it, but this ep was tight regardless.

Well as Kusanagi said, he (if "he" actually have sense of reasoning) was just being manipulated, therefore 'they' used him just as a imagen. The real Marcelo was death anyway.

The Laughing Man case is on "Complex" episodes. The stand alone are more like... CSI ones.

Well good fights between "Marcelo", the hot chicks on the apartment Vs. Makoto.

Were Jarti and that Japanese gangster's chicks cyborgs or androids? They seem to resemble BDSM or alt girls, they initially had good fighting posture but they couldn't hold up to the Major!

I pretty much liked that comical scene were Batou pulled the Japanese gangster leader from the restroom urinal! It was hilarious and I loved how the guy's face appeared when he saw Batou smile and pulled him away!

Loved the fighting scenes, really well made. I found the toilet scene pretty funny as well, nice break from laughing man arc still interesting to see the stand alone ones.

Yeh it's quite a wicked way to make you immortal... Indeed... the Yakuzas used his image and made out an army out of him... Poor guy... he's likely long dead... In fact I can presume he has been dead since the first time he visited Japan... Dunno if it was the Yakuzas ideas of his, but I reall consider making you immortal that way is too crazy XD

The action was supreme!!! Amazing... Commander Motoko rules... she even defeated a pair of Jartis by herself... she really has some moves XD Oh and the fight versus the dolls was amazing too... she really kick ass... and the gunfight between the police and the wild android was kewl too... Ouch poor policeman... a broken skull... that has to be a painful death....

If this had aired more recently, people would be whining so much about the animation drop. When really, it was the character art that was annoyingly inconsistent, yet the animators didn't let that get in the way of making great action scenes.

Story was totally predictable, though.

I agree, it was a great idea to keep the "hero" alive for the better of the people.

Liked the action in this one. Makes me wish there was more martial arts combat in the series. This episode was a good one.

Wow, didn't expect so many good fighting scenes. I had this idea that GitS would be more "investigation" oriented. Im loving every aspect so far, art, animation, soundtrack, action and the investigative aspect of it.

Btw, great plot-line for this episode.

PS: My jaw suddenly dropped when that giant dude came out of the blue and started wrecking havoc in the mafioso group!

Nice episode. A lot of fighting scenes. And the way they preserved the Hero by cloning him was cool. It was fun but the complex episodes are more important. The Laughing Man case is still unsolved.

Nothing wrong the second part, well seasoned with lots of action. Too bad that the drawings are not the pinnacle of beauty.
Small moral at the end of the episode, the idols are named, almost never done.

Well, the various forms of fanservice weren't too blatant, so I suppose that's forgivable.

I'm noticing the difference between the Stand Alone episodes and the Complex episodes now. It would be interesting if they were somehow connected to the main plotline; this is called "Stand Alone Complex", after all.

"A hero never dies" has never been more literal, despite being so wrong.

The fighting choreography is surprisingly good. And I'm pretty picky.
Nothing over-the-top, but actually I prefer something simple but well-crafted than a messy, implausible shounen battle. It's much more satisfying.

As always, loved the episode. The conclussion of every episode at the about end is truly charming, even if a few things are still not quite as clear. An idea to maintain an idea just by creating copies of a long since dead person is rather stunning, although very bizzare; but then again, it's just Ghost in the Shell always making everything feel so excessively poetic and philosophical. And that what's amazing about this anime.

I had watched this episode a few years ago and even nowadays I can't help but chuckle frantically every time it gets to that peeing scene. Good thing Batou is such an easily outgoing dude; Major or Togusa would never pop out that unforgettable embarrassed smile when grabbing you while you're at it.

Interesting. The idea of keeping a hero (or a puppet) alive for the sake of the people makes you think if this could you very be the case in the next few decades. And it all being covered up. Great stand alone episode :)

Her battle against the "ghost-dubbed" androids was brief but awesome. I feel like we haven't seen Motoko distressed like that in a fight, it was intense seeing her cry out before finishing the guy off.
