After mlp fim ended in 2019, I am no longer a brony and apart from 'Watching Milestones', the only reason I haven't edited the rest of this profile since I joined or changed my profile pic/signature is because of nostalgia and it'll stay this way till the site dies.
Let me tell you two useful pieces of information on why you are here...
One: You saw a pony. Two: You were expecting a pony.
Sorry to disappoint. Writing about ponies is pointless... so you'll have to settle with whatever shows up below.
...
Now now, don't give me that face... I know you're disappointed. Whenever I decide to write up about ponies you'll be the fi-- no... you won't be the first to know.
Oh and by the way, I do not accept random friend requests... sorry.
That being said, if you really want to know about ponies, this is all you have to do.

Note: I'm still simple, but it's hard to get invested in anime romance compared to books/live action/games because they are vanilla, generic and follow the same tired trope time after time with no deviation. Give me an interesting dark romance anime and I will gladly watch it... at least that's different from the thousands of generic shounen romance anime that you see every time.
So even if it has my favourite genres, I may or refuse to watch any anime with the genres | themes below...
- The first half of the first episode. If it fails to do its job or I get bored very quickly... dropped.
- The amount of action in it.
- Epic goosebump moments +1 point.
- Hype inducing over the top flashy fight scenes or anything with flashy transformation sequences +2 points.
- The story especially the ending if action doesn't exist.
- How likeable the characters are if action and plot doesn't exist.
- The music and lastly the visuals but thankfully i haven't found an anime without action, plot and likeable characters... yet. - If it's ecchi (or in some cases CGI) I prioritize the visuals and/or action over anything else.
- Anime with unsatisfactory or Panty and Stocking endings -1 point.
- Anime with wimpy or annoying MCs -1 point.
- Anime with *hidden romance... I despise getting baited into watching those because by the time the inevitable romance shows up either in the 2nd half of the anime or the last few episodes, it's be too late to drop it.
*Hidden romance: see the spoiler tag under (10) below.
How I see MAL's rating system
I don't care about rating systems in general because my ratings are based on my enjoyment rather than the quality or whatever but MAL has one so I might as well make my own rules for it.
(10)
-Here's how an anime gets a 10 on my list...
- No hidden romance. Hidden romance: Any non-yuri anime that baited me into into watching due to the lack of romance tag when it has generic romance between two or more chars.
For some reason, MAL can perfectly tag all anime with yuri or even yuri bait with romance but cant do the same for the shitton of shounen romance anime out there...
- No annoying character(s).
- Every episode has tons of over the top, well choreographed and/or beautifully animated fight scenes.
- Every episode makes me laugh alot (if it has a comedy tag).
- Completely blows my mind (if it has psychological and/or friends tag).
- Has a very satisfying ending, no cliffhangers, no twists (unless a mindblowing one), no nothing, just an end that leaves you feeling happy, depressed or wanting more.
- If the above are met, it gets a 10 and if I have time, I may rewatch.
(9)
- This mostly falls on those that could be 10 material but were ruined either by hidden romance, unsatisfying ending, that one annoying character or the action wasn't flashy enough but I might consider rewatching if time permits.
- I never or rarely give shorts a 10 but if I ever watch a short that is a masterpiece, it'll fall here.
(8)
- This falls on anime that had a fantastic start then ended in a way I didn't like or didn't excite me as much as the start did.
- Anime with great fight scenes but not on every episode regardless of the story fall here.
- Anime with great story and action that really could be a 10 but were ruined by a wimpy or annoying MCs fall here too.
(7)
- Here, it follows 8, fantastic start then crashed at the end followed with typical annoyances like annoying MCs.
- The plot did not make sense like a flying cow in a sports anime or I did not understand a part at all but the action was great.
- Also a character or a couple I liked died for absolutely no reason at all regardless of how good the anime is can fall here.
- Sometimes an anime can fall here if I'm not sure what rating to give it cause i liked it and disliked it at the same due to something in the story or a certain character.
(6)
- Here are where most average anime fall in, okay action, okay plot, okay visuals, its more like "Ehh? It was okay, I'll drop it here, It's not good but it's not bad either."
- Sometimes an anime I had really high hopes for but was ruined by a specific arc/part in the story, little to no action or you know what falls here.
(5)
- Here, the anime would have been fantastic but it left me feeling disappointed, it could've definitely could've done better... maybe in the story, ending, length of the show, the art or its characters.
- This is the max I will ever rate any anime that has hidden romance. It'll never go above this unless the action/story was too good, the romance was darker, the generic shounen romance was barely there and got very little screentime, they have VNs and I've read them before watching the anime or I simply enjoyed it.
(4)
- Here I didn't like the anime, it was boring, I found a couple of characters/parts REALLY annoying or the whole anime annoyed me, making me wonder why I didn't just drop it in first place.
- Sometimes I had really high hopes for the series but it disappointed me so much that I'm dropping it here...
(3)
- Here, the anime was weird and/or unbearable, its a miracle I didn't drop it.
- Those ecchi specials that try so hard but the end result ends up making you feel awkward fall here.
- Sometimes, I have to use willpower to plough through it, if I refuse to drop.
- That one character(s) that turn what could be/is a good anime into hate watching.
- Hidden romance that's practically a full blown shounen romance anime and didn't even try to hide how generic the romance was. If MAL would just let members edit tags, it would be easy to filter these out since it's clearly difficult for them to add necessary tags to anime... I mean how can you fail to add a romance tag to an anime that clearly has one? It's almost like whoever is in charge of adding tags to anime is as dense as harem protags.
(2)
- This? Well, I'm not even sure why I bothered watching it in the first place.
- Reserved for specials/shorts that fail to do their jobs because a full length anime would be dropped rather than reach this point.
(1)
- Huh? This exists? Oh, I know why it exists... it exists for one and only one anime I foolishly watched on a dare.
- No other completed anime worth it's salt will ever fall here.
(-)
- Reserved for anthologies and dropped anime.
- No matter how much I liked or hated them, it doesn't seem fair to give them a rating.
