Yeah! Mushishi is on another level, a piece of art and every episode is excellent. I haven't rewatched it yet though, just the occasional random episode every now and then. Although it sounds a ridiculous plan, Mushishi is one of those anime I plan to watch again in the future, to enjoy it again almost like the first time, along with the first Full Metal Alchemist, Monster, Baccano and Darker than Black (after 8-10 years I don't remember almost any of them, only the most important things). In the meantime I keep watching new stuff, and I'm already running out of things to watch.
As for Kino, the most you can do to enjoy something similar is to read the light novel. There's also the anime that came out in 2017, but personally I didn't like it like the 2003 version, it lost its touch, that thing that makes it special. I think it's because of director Nakamura that the 2003 version is so good.
The anime I liked the most are the ones in the image above. However, I have to update it, it's from 2 years ago and I've seen some really good stuff in these 2 years. I have to add Paranoia Agent, Harmony, Sakasama no Patema, Roujin-Z, Byousoku 5 Centimeter, Monogatari (which might be in my top 10, I still have to watch half of it), and maybe Millenium Actress, Genocidal Organ and Spy Family (I'm enjoying it a lot). Madoka almost made it into that image too, which I'd just seen a week before. And if I add these last ones, the mosaic would look good with a 7x5. But my undisputed top 5 are Kino, Lain, Houseki no Kuni, Monster and Mushishi. Every now and then I like one or the other of these 5 more and more, but that's where they stand and that's where they'll stay.
It happened to me, the first time I watched it the episodes I liked the most were episode 5, the one about the three men working on the rails, and episode 12, the one about the pacific land. A few years later I watched it again and I liked episode 9, land of books, and episode 3, land of prophecies, which I hadn't paid much attention to before. The rest are pretty good too, they leave you thinking for a while after each episode.
I'm glad to know that you like this anime so much.
if you like comedy i also recommend asobi asobase, it's very funny. But my mood, it's questionable I don't know if you'll like it kkk but if you watch, tell me what you think.
Well I mean as a wise man once said," Age don't matter when doing something. Everyone has a childishness in their heart, they have to bring it out hehe." So yeah I believe you when you say u r a young soul hehe :)🥺
