Similar characters. Both are very cute, funny slice of lifes. 

The two shows have a similar brand of humor that searches out the absurdity and silliness of every day life. There's just something about the timing and style of each that reminds you of the other in a good way. I was laughing out loud during both of these shows and would definitely recommend you watch the other if you liked one! XD 

Both "slice of life" with some similar characters (i.e: Miu = Kana), same comedy style and both very funny! 

Enjoyed the style of the humour from Ichigo Mashimaro and can't find something similar? Minami-ke is a series that works in a similar way, both of them are simply the daily lifes of a small group of people, in this case the Minami sisters. The presentation of humour is rather similar to that of Ichigo Mashimaro, nothing over the top, but enough to get a chuckle out of certain scenes. The Minami sisters are also quite similar to those found in Ichigo Mashimaro; Chiaki is very similar to Chika, though she's the youngest of the sisters. She easily gets annoyed by her older sister Kana who has major similarities to Miu. Kana likes to be childish and annoy her youngest sister and is usually a silly even at school, getting low grades and being scolded by Chiaki. Then there's Haruka, the eldest who practically watches out for the two quite similar to Nobue though she isn't exactly laid back. Each episode (so far) is presented with what the sister's do during there days, life at school, life at home and the interactions they have with people or each other which kind of works like Ichigo Mashimaro. If you've watched both Ichigo Mashimaro TV series and OVA and looking for something of similar humour and presentation, then I reccomend Minami-ke. read more 

Slice of life comedy series based around a group of still in school girls. (They lie about Nobue in the anime version she IS 16)... Just less loli in Minami-ke.

Two very funny "slice of life" comedies about cute girls doing cute things. 

One reason is random storyline but the main reason is between our main characters of miu-chan and kana. Total idiots, ruining peoples life throwing tantrum, can there be more a like characters? 

A comedic look at the everyday lives of a group of girls, delivered with excellent comic timing. 

Both have similar humor and are about lives of girls and whatnot. 

same concept, but with 4 elementary school girls and a older sister in college in ichigo mashimaro and 3 sisters and their friends in Minami-ke 

Both are great comedy shows with funny and interesting character and have a similar type of humour. Also Kana's antics kind of reminded me of Mio. 

Similar humor and characters, Kana and Miu both playing the role of the annoying funny girl that plays pranks all the time, never acting seriously.  

Both equally funny in terms of overall; Characters - equally cute and funny; And is also slice-of-life. (: 

-both have cute girls doing cute things... while being very FUNNY! (These are often funnier then typical moe shows) -similar kind of humour (finding humour in every day life) -similar characters (If you liked Kana, you'll probably like Miu) -same idea of younger girl characters with an older sister type character looking after them Over all, I've seen so many other moe shows, and these two are the most similar to one another. They are both great in their own ways. They are cute AND funny. <3  

Both anime are quite similar to each other, in that they both deal with the everyday lives of a group of girls. Niether series has any large plot to follow, with each episode having a stand alone theme. They're also both very funny in the way that they show the situations that the girls get into-such as going to the beach,what they do over school holidays, or thier school life. Finally, each series has some random comedic moments thrown in which makes them both very likable. 

Random, cute, group of girls. Both Animes unite all these things. The sense of humor is quite not everyones taste, but ifya like the style and you dont mind not havin a real plot these Animes are for you. 

When I think of Lucky Star, I see ichigo mashimaro. Great humour, great characters, great songs.

Another slice of life with girls and how they go with their day. Both very cute and very much like eatch other. 

They are both about ordinary girls lives, and are both funny and cute! ^_^ 

Both shows are based off of 4-koma featuring cute schoolgirls doing cute things. Lucky Star features a highschool cast and focuses more on various thoughts or experiences that come to mind but still features plenty of comedy. Ichigo Mashimaro features a gradeschooler cast that likes to orbit around a 20-year old college student and is a more straight forward comedy overall. 

Very similar art style and both have elementary school girls doing cute things/causing adults trouble. The interactions between the 3 main girls of Mitsuboshi, resemble those of Ichigo Mashimaro. Overall, if you liked one, you will sure to like the other.  

Episodical slice of life about daily hijinks of group of grade school girls and an adult they like to bother. Cute and both have similar artstyle/character design. 

Both manage to portray kids exactly as kids are: energetic, innocent, brash, blunt, and most importantly, hilarious. 

Cute girls series where a good part of the comedy comes from the kids causing problems to the adults, the character designs are similar as well. 

Both are CGDCT comedies with very fun and diabetes-esque atmosophere. Both shows feature a cast of young girls doing and depict their shenanigans, often causing problems to the adults around them. Some characters are also very similar: Yui and Chika are both the straight man of their groups Sacchan and Miu are the bratty and hyperactive ones causing the most problems. 

Same Art Style, Same theme Mitsuboshi colours is more lively Ichigo Mashimaro is more chill

Both series focus on a group of four school girls and the humorus things they get up to. 

K-On really seems like it's Ichigo Mashimaro in High School. As for the episodes. While there is no definitive plot in either of them. There is a sequence that they follow, and they don't keep things random. 4 girls who hang out, and have a great time, all the time. As well as a 5th, older girl who likes to dress them up as Cosplay. That's the main theme that they share. Though the actually theme of each would be a bit different (^.^) 

Both anime are cute, funny, have no fan service or romantic plot in it. it's just everyday life of 4 friends. Kotobuki Tsumugi reminds me of Ana Copola a lot 

they're both moe animes and give off the same vibe where you just cheer up after watching them, I'd reccomend watching them after you've watched something sad  

Cute girls living daily lives. Both of these series has a blonde-haired girl from England, and the other characters are interested by her foreign-ness. 

Both have: -cute girls doing cute things (Moe!) -a blonde foreign girl from England (Alice and Ana) -a girl who loves blonde hair, and obsesses over the other character (Shino and Nobue) -foreign girl is very good at Japanese (Alice and Ana) -both occasionally wear cute lolita outfits *o* There is also the cute common theme of jealousy between friends, which is very common with girls. But it is always done in a more cute way then serious. ^^ Basically, they are very similar. Ichigo Mashimaro came out first, and while watching Kiniro Mosaic I kept thinking back to Ichigo Mashimaro. 

Both are slice-of-life animes with pretty much no plot. They are both centered around cute girls doing cute things. - All main characters are lolis - Soothing/Harmonic setting - Comedy - No plot 

Two moe slice of life anime where a young English girl with blond hair moves to Japan and joins a group of friends. 

Strawberry Marshmellow has the same general premise of Azumanga Daioh-best friends on their way through school. It's funny and clever, cute and adorable. It really is just like Azumanga Daioh-only elementary age. 

Same kind of formulae: A group of girls + strong personalities + a dash of cuteness = hilarious fun anime. 

Both are slice-of-life series featuring cute girls in wacky situations! Ichigo Mashimaro is a little more realistic but doesn't suffer one bit in the cute department. If you've watched all of AzuDai and want more, Ichigo Mashimaro might be a nice surrogate - too bad it's so short. 

Strawberry Marshmallow is of a similar genre, style and era to Azumanga Daioh and is based on a manga which was published in the same magazine as Azumanga Daioh. The authors of the two series have in fact met in real life and Barasui even made a short one-shot manga about their meeting. With those connections, it's easy to see why there might be some overlap in appeal. If you enjoy comedic slice-of-life series with moe characters then Strawberry Marshmallow is among the best. It not only succeeds in the moe aspect but is hilarious as well. 

Little girls living their everyday lives. Both cute and upbeat with a lot of nice moments. 

Although one series involves grade schoolers and the other high schoolers, the animation was done by the same studio and is nearly identical. Full of cute moments, a group of female students have fun and bond together. 

The world looks so much better if everything turns out chibi. Though Manabi Straight is more drama orientated, chibi lovers will like both. 

Both of them talks about group of friends have fun and bonding together in their living their everyday life. Cute, and very funny.  

Similar to this series but a slight bit more Lighthearted and airy.  

If you're looking for a plot-less Anime, solely for situational humor, then Ichigo Mashimaro and Mitsudomoe both fit your needs. 

same style of comedy, very fun in a way you just can't stop laughing,perverted stuff 

Similar comedy based with some dirty jokes. Follows an adult having to deal with children who all have a stereotypical personality. Generally same feel to them.

Both anime has an onee-chan and a little sister that brings her friends over to hang out. Their episodes are also all about fun wholesome slice of life with lots of lovable personality and memorable interactions!  

wataten is the ichigo mashimaro of a more recent generation. i'm even convinced that miyako and hinata's mom is a direct homage to nobue from ichigo mashimaro, the most obvious signifier aside from their hair being that both are constantly smoking. wataten fans should absolutely go back and try the classic ichigo mashimaro, and fans of the classic kirara-kei show would almost certainly love wataten as well. 

Cute girls, funny gags... Mashimaro opening and Yuru Yuri ending animation is similar. 

Both of which anime are centered around 4 girls doing random things. You can safely say that Yuru Yuri is Ichigo Mashimaro with a yuri twist. Each of the girls fall on their respective archetypes and fulfill their own roles nicely. If you have seen Ichigo Mashimaro, you won't regret seeing something like that again in Yuru Yuri. 

Both of these have similar character settings, such as young school girls around the age of 12, and incorporate comedy as the main genre for its production. They are comparable in that each character in one anime corresponds to another in the other anime. 

Both are about young school girls doing random funny things. Both are funny as hell. 

3 students with different characters: calm, stupid, and straight, nichijou is senior high school student while Ichigo is elementary school student 

Pretty similar comedically and tonally. Ichigo Mashimaro is definitely more laid-back, while Nichijou is kinda absurdist for much of the runtime. I prefer Ichigo Mashimaro. 

Ichigo Mashimaro and Non Non Biyori are very similar to each other: -Both have young girls who like to play and hang out -Both have a transfer student who is trying to get used to their new home -The characters are similar -The humor is similar I feel that anyone who enjoys Ichigo Mashimaro will most likely enjoy Non Non Biyori as well. Non Non Biyori may be a bit more slow, but they're both hilarious and packed with adorableness. 

The daily lives of the characters are similar even the character traits are the same as the two of them, the excitement of the story brought by the right soundtrack / backsound, good opening and ending anisong and always the right atmosphere, how the characters see their worldview and life. 

Both feature a group of girls living their day-to-day life. There is some sibling interaction in both anime. Ichigo Mashimaro's is leaning towards comedy while Non Non Biyori is leaning towards relaxing/feeling good.  

As the description for this says, "cute girls doing cute things."( there are also 4 girls ) Really the only difference between these two animes are that in A channel, they are in high school, when in this anime they are in middle school. I would say that Tooru is the blunt equivalent of Miu......  

Four girls in a laid back slice of life anime. They are both hilarious at times and heart-warming. Ichigo Mashimaro has an extra character that looks over the four girls though, which is a nice addition.  

Both involve young kids and are very cute. Both animes follow the lives of 4 young girls and the people around them. Bottle fairy is funny and I would highly reccomend it to anyone who enjoyed Ichigo mashimaro. 

Both are about four adorable little girls (but in Bottle Fairy, they're fairies) and their adventures. They also have one main guardian.  

Both series are slice-of-life centered around a group of small girls. The animation in both is very good and cute. A big difference is between the two is that Hanamaru Youchien has more romance while Ichigo Mashimaro is purely cute antics.  

Very similar shows. If you loved the random and stupid humor of one you will like the other. Miu and Amaya are like the same character and the stars of comedy in each show. 

Kyou no 5 no 2 is basically Ichigo Mashimaro but with some boys and without an older friend — that's how similar the silly antics in both are! 

Both series have similar antics involving a group of school friends who play games and go through their day-to-day life with one another. Also, they both include a foreigner girl who is trying to hide how nationalized to Japan she is. While Asobi Asobase is considerably less cutesy and has a raunchier sense of humor, both can be enjoyed by anyone who likes watching a group of friends have fun with one another. 

both have very laugh out loud characters in Miu and Torako... and they are both voiced by the same person
