Somewhat similar animes with the main similarity being world development. If you are a fan of Overlord you will most likely be a fan of Slime. In both animes the main character is overpowered and that is used as a plot device for world building and domination. The main difference is that Overlord is somewhat more "grim".

The main characters are reincarnated as a monster with video game like abilities in a different world or realm with lots of different life forms. They have memories of their previous life. They both level up.
report Recommended by CoffeeBean
Both stories involve protagonists originating from Japan and being transported to a fantasy world with superhuman powers, which propels their power as a monarch. They establish cities with locals, mainly monsters, and come into conflict with fellow humans. Both has comedic moments throughout the story.
report Recommended by Aleron
Both are stand out shows in their seasons for being Isekai's that both play with the viewer expectation in a simple way. Changing the status quo in small ways that aren't particularly mind-blowing, but effective and utilized to each of their strengths
report Recommended by Alufei
Main protagonist dies and reincarnates into a fantasy world with swords and magic with his previous life's memory intact. Protagonist is trying to navigate the new world based on their previous experiences. Lots of ecchi-comedy moments and has huge character development for the protagonist since after all in Tensei, protagonist is a slime and in Mushoku Tensei, the protagonist is born as a baby.
report Recommended by Aleron
The fantasy, OP main characters that become OP by obtaining ridiculous new skills.

They both involve having to get used to a new way of living. Starting a new society. Working together and building a society.
report Recommended by JakklL
- Overpowerd Main Character - Badass Main Protagonist - Genre: Isekai - Closed to being in an RPG, "Time that I reincarnated into a Slime" but plot twist, he's rather thrown to be on the Monster Side than the Human side, wouldn't considered much being a villain however "Arifureta" is meant that the main character wants to go home to his normal world but instead he has the power to kill gods.
report Recommended by DarkZyo
Both titles feature adult protagonists in seemingly small and “weak” characters, prone to discrimination and underestimation. However, they have used their charisma and knowledge of the real world to improve their situation in the new world, gaining admirers and recognition but attracting danger at the same time. The stories are wholesome and share an almost too “friendly” approach in style, using prominent themes of trust, friendship and family. Ascendance of A Bookworm is more female-friendly as opposed to “Slime” since the latter features a harem (not over the top), big-busted women, and more action. Nevertheless, the attention to world-building and pacing are similarly well done.

Probably has been said but both have neat similarities. Both protagonists transported to a world to establish, create and maintain a new type of society that benefits the world they were transported in. Both go through a multitude of trails and tribulations but goes in with an outlook of not just positivity, but an ideal to better others. Both world are vibrant, colorful and intriguing cast member and both have stories that go to interesting places that is entertaining.

Both male lead cool and have nice character Both have overpowered after was die Both has similar setting (where male lead die with stupid idea)
report Recommended by Syureria
Both are isekai anime, which have similar take on that kind of show. They don't take itself seriously and have some great comedy moments. "Tensei Shitara Slime datta Ken is like Konosuba but with overpowered main protagonist" is how I describe it to most people. If you enjoy either of these shows, you should check the other one out.

Both male MCs are transported to another world after dying. They also get some cheat skills/powers making them pretty powerful even overpowered compered to others. Furthermore they acquire skills pretty easily.
report Recommended by iwsifakismag
After dying both male MCs are reincarnated to another world. The world they now live in have magic and both MCs are overpowered compered to other people.

Both male mc are rebirth in another fantasy world Slowly building a guild/ family/ town for them selves layback and chill both have very similar plot progression

Slime? Yes An anime about slimes "TenSura" is about a literal slime, while "Slime 300" is about fighting slimes. Nevertheless, both series focus on how a person can be so powerful through the influence of slimes.
report Recommended by Solaris-----
Both are rather OP but relaxed about it Both MC's get put into another world after they died Both involve slimes (Tensei the MC is the slime; kami the MC collects them) Kami is more slice of life with more relaxed vibe. Tensei has more combat but still is about the nice chill moments.
report Recommended by nickolai
Both are isekai with an overpowered protagonist and both are just fun shows that don't take themselves too seriously.
report Recommended by MaskOfIce
Both shows have op demon lords. They slowly start to build up followers. Both characters are way too op for their respective worlds and they destroy stuff.
report Recommended by BakaBoi331
- simply: very similar overall vibe - main character gets isekai'd - main character makes a lot of allies due to helping them, unintentionally gains people's respect and they start treating them in a special way - most people become friends with or love the main character - focused mainly on those friendly relatioships - the type of anime you'd watch to relax after a long day - maybe not the same, but I'd say that a similar colorful art style... [other than that, Slime is more serious/fantasy&magic/fight focused, Otome is more light/romance/slice of life, i guess]
report Recommended by Alesko
Both are Isekai anime. If you like this kind of stories, you will like both. Although re-zero has an slower start, and Tensei Slime has a really quick start, both are really good anime.
report Recommended by hobbito
If you liked the town-building/politics parts of Slime Tensei, then you'll probably also like Realist Hero, since that's a big chunk of the story. Realist Hero does have action/war parts (because, you know, politics) but a lot of the focus is on the town-building (which honestly I'm all for).
report Recommended by VGmaster670
- Isekai. - Overpowered protagonist. - The power of friendship. - The protagonist gathers some kind of a "family" from supporting characters around him. - Has a fairytale vibe when almost no one from supporting characters can die for real.
report Recommended by susano-amaterasu
It'd be pretty obvious ofc, Reincarnated as a Slime and Sword are closely similar to each other. They have the following: -The title itself is closely related to each other. -Both MCs have same skill but in different approach. -Skill sets are quite same too. -Monster hierarchy are pretty much the same. Overall, if you enjoy watching a unique isekai anime with vast powers, skills and wild adventures, then its a must watch!
report Recommended by AigenEu
-Both animes are about the main character transporting into a new world and starts from scratch -Both of the main characters is extremely OP and gains new skill every time they destroy a monster, making them even more unstoppable -Meets new people and develops their own community on their own, gathering people and land -Both main characters have the same personality traits in terms of their humor, attitude, and how they can be sinister at times -Super fun anime, both light-hearted anime, you'll like one another

Both set in a game universe Both main characters are overpower

Similarities: 1. Both MC started their ordinary lives as adults. 2. Both found themselves in an alternate world where they have to start from scratch. 3. Both were able to become powerful mage. 4. Both have a couple of harem members. Dissimilarities: 1. One MC didn't die when he go transported to the alternate world only to find himself in a body of a 5 year old kid , while the other MC died and was reborn as a slime. 2. One has a kaiju as part of his team while the other doesn't,

Main character dies and gets reincarnated to another world/timeline. Plus its's an adult man reincarnated (kinda) as a little girl.

In both shows the main character dies and gets reincarnated as a monster. both of them lead their horde of monsters and constantly receives power ups by consuming defeated enemies. Both mcs also can eovlve into stronger forms when reaching certain levels.

Both isekai animes have OP characters as their main, and also focuses on world-building while leading an army.
report Recommended by Sotetsuuuu
- OP main character with a "happy-go-lucky" attitude - Set in medieval fantasy world - The early arcs concentrate on building the "crew" around the main character - General vibe and color scheme are similar. - Both shows can take themselves seriously when they want to, but there's always room for a bit humor, too. - distinct and interesting side characters
report Recommended by P2k3r2
- Both have protagonists that are ridiculously OP - Both have magic involved - Both protagonists share their magic with their followers, allowing them to earn respect and build empires. - Both have some comedic moments (at least I think so) Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken is a fantastic anime and yes, ML is overpowered, but he is pretty humble too. This show also has 2 seasons (but if you count season 2 part 2 as a third season, then 3) and a movie!
report Recommended by TinyTaco
They're both isekai anime. If you like the genre, you will probably like them both. They are both mostly light-hearted shows, and the protagonists don't take themselves too seriously most of the time. The both have absurd moments that make you laugh out loud, and they both throw some unexpected things your way (tsundere dragon, how to get closer during a summoning ritual).
report Recommended by workinHikikomori
Both main characters start off weak and progressively becomes stronger, gaining new abilities and gear by battling monsters. Both main characters hide their true strength. Solo Leveling seems to be inspired by Tensei shitara, in the sense that both of the main characters interact with a system UI unique to them. Both animes are set in a fantasy MMO RPG like world, with Solo Leveling being a crossover between the modern world and fantasy. Tensei shitara focuses on character development and world development. Solo Leveling is mostly focused on character development, but both animes still have a similar vibe.

MC dies and reincarnate as slime. Make loyal subordinate like OVERLORD. MC is overpowered

In both, the main characters consist of a slime, and unlike how they're usually known (as the weakest species) they're extremely op.

-OP Main character -MC gets reincarnated -MC uses knowledge from their past life as their advantage

- The main characters both have petite bodies, blue hair, and are very OP - Set in a medieval fantasy world - Eye-catching action scenes with fun elements - The supporting characters are also particularly interesting and powerful Note: Magi is not an isekai animea
report Recommended by kiqinehhh
both are isekai and both MCs have the vision to befriend and empower all the monster races the differences are -one MC is child human and the other is a slime -slime isekai has combat and RPG mechanics in it

Both are fun simple adventures about a small simple overpowered blob that could consume a bunch of things.

Isekai anime with op mc, one has slime mc while other has slime "pets"
report Recommended by QUIL1TY
Both series have similarities - Have element of trade between regions - Establish relations or peace between regions - MC traveled another countries to negotiate with the owner / king for cooperation - Build a trading country - Have OP MC - Bring enemy characters as partners or guards and make MC the master
report Recommended by Rinkahai
Both anime based in a city, which protoganists are trying to develop it
report Recommended by oazuz
Same concept, a useless body collects different skills by absorbing/defeating and becomes powerful. While slime relies mainly on skills, in the fruit of evolution it has more like a RPG levelling system.
report Recommended by Shurikun_
Both have great art and interesting main characters. In both main character has some kind of group with him/her. Both are funny in their own ways. I would just love to see them in recommendations because I enjoyed both.
report Recommended by NeiShiro
Both have kingdom building and are isekai characters who are the rulers of their respective nations. in both slime and realist hero they are very diplomatic in running their nation and believe in development of their nation.
report Recommended by anustubh
Even though they are fundamentally different genres, both have a strong emphasis on friendship, solidarity and never - ending adventures. Plus, hxh includes an isekai arc, and TSSDK is an isekai itself.
report Recommended by owaranaiyumega
the amount of politics in these 2 anime is simmilar as in the poweplay between the different nations. gate is about a nation trying to civilize a different world as in teaching and integrating modernday values into an seemingly uncivilized world, and slime is about a creature starting his nation in a similar world to be honest but we get more content about the relations between the different species in slime.
report Recommended by Old_Farmer
similarity 1. Both anime have mc that start of weak but latter become op 2. rimuru and rudeus were middle aged men and reincarnate after dying differences 1. rimuru is slime while rudeus is a human 2. slime is about building a new town while mushoku tensei is about mc overcoming is past to become a better person

They have a similar vibe. Both are funny and dark. I love them both. The main characters are smart and interesting, a bit different than the usual OP MC.

Both MCs are reincarnated and they are both really strong. Both MCs are also connected to monsters. Both MCs are pretty strong and OP. They have a similar feel.
report Recommended by NeiShiro
Both focus on politics with some comedy, although Genius prince might be slightly more focused on the comedy part.
report Recommended by TKD_Weirdo
-OP main characters -Negative events are always followed by positivity, so you can stay relaxed
report Recommended by Santibag
They are both animes that put a very unique twist on the Isekai genre. And focus a lot on the world-building instead of an overpowered MC. Granted Slime does have an overpowered MC but it still makes up for it by the effort it puts into the side characters.
report Recommended by Noxess
Isekai anime revolving around an OP main Character. Lighthearted in nature, and can be funny at times.
report Recommended by SaintJames012
The protagonists of both series play the straight man to the tropes the series uses.
report Recommended by Tenderizer79
A 30 year old man is transported to another world! Unfortunately the action from Slime is not translated into the farming life presented in Kaiko Sareta Ankoku Heishi... but village development and fan service definitely is. While Kaiko may have more fanservice than Slime, the evolution of a settlement from humble beginnings to prosperous living is shared between the two. Though slime has more of an action tag to it, Kaiko has more of a slice of life feel. Both share comedy equally and hopefully will fill that hole that both of these series leave after you finish them and/or anticipate another season.
report Recommended by XxobbsxX
Both have action , fights , and fantasy and a very interesting story , although completely different from each other . One is darker than the other , where the MC trains hard to become strong and protect his remaining family while the other might seem a bit more chill , where the MC is OP but the MC has something to protect too . Either way I enjoyed both very much , both are , to me , very good anime

Both animes take place in a fantasy setting w/ dragons. and as an added bonus much like how the girls went into the dragons body in That Time I got reincarnated as a Slime has a dragon being absorbed by a Slime's body

A relative nobody gains an incredible power and uses it to influence geopolitics. In Code Geass the power is more limited, creating a tenser story, and the tone is pessimistic rather than optimistic.

Although the theme is different, the struggles of main characters are similar, which is non existent. The main characters are never in trouble, because both are genius and overpowered. They are surrounded by people who revere power more than anything. I think these two series are similar but in a bad way.
report Recommended by Oonokami
Both anime share a super strong main character who can pretty much do anything with magic. Both have a focus on empire building. Both Main Characters have strong friends that look up to the MC. Both anime are also pretty laid back, but Reikenzan has less adventure and a stronger focus on training to become better

Both main characters have reincarnated. Both characters held skills that astonish their surroundings. Having charisma and power they change the environment. I like how they do things that break the common sense of their surroundings.

They have similar visuals. (Flip flappers has better visuals tho.) They both are hearth warming. They both have simple and peaceful characters. They both are fantasy-action.

1. You can find goblins in both 2. The MC is overpowered 3. Races and classes seem pretty familiar to me BUT 1. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken is an Isekai while Goblin Slayer is not 2. Reincarnated as a slime seems more of a comedy than a drama (I mean aside from the fight between demon lord and Rimuru, I didn't see any dramatic moments, meanwhile Goblin Slayer is more deep, dark anime, we all remember that scene from ep 1) 3. Smashable Goblins (When you say Goblin Slayer you mean rape, ugly goblins, etc. Meanwhile when you say Reincarnated as a Slime you mean waifu goblins that are actually  read more

Both anime are incredibly wholesome and fun to watch while Tensura shows some action and wholesomeness, Barakamon shows us the daily life of the protagonist and wholesomeness. In short both stated anime are incredibly unwinding and can be watched at a quick pace.

Both present a magical setting. A vast world of mystery and monsters. I always found myself entertained while watching each episode. How the characters solved their problems, the locations they visited, Rimuru´s humor, Elias´s wisdom and mystery. Both series share the bonds of family. Rimuru builds up the goblin village and eventually more residents of different races settle there. He will seek solutions to protect his citizens and if necessary resort to violence. Elias sees Chise as his familY, and i believe he cherishes her more than anyone or anything. :)

- Both anime have an overpowered main character who is laid back and knows about his power, both have a sense of justice and righteousness - Both anime have multiple comedy scenes and very memorable supporting characters. Both of them form an entourage of powerful friends who aid them in battle. - Both characters attract powerful enemies and hence both anime have mutiple fight scenes -Both anime have a power ranking system (SS Rank, A rank etc.) - However, unlike OPM, Rimuru's power grows steadily during the series whereas Saitama is OP from the start - Also, Slime has much more world building than OPM
report Recommended by MJROCKS05
Both feature a person (or slime) of seemingly dubious origins, yet somehow being able to unite a multi-racial force in order to start a nation. Much of the plot focus on both the formation of the new countries and the trials that the new nations face.
report Recommended by HalRyder
Both main characters lead a group of monsters. Along with wanting to leave humans leave. Their followers both have undying loyalty. Along with op powers whether they are magic or other abilities. I would 100% recommend both.
report Recommended by The_AnimeCorner
Both series involve overpowered protagonists that you end up rooting for regardless, due to the shows' abilities to focus on minor characters and their growths alongside the MC. As well as this, both protagonists kinda involve some sort of progression that you get invested in; with Slime you end up rooting for Rimuru's village's growth; with One Punch Man you end up rooting for Saitama's recognition in the Hero Association. All fights are full of hype- especially the ones where you know that the protagonist wins, and acts as catharsis when you see the villain finally get beat up.

-Both are Isekai's and in both of them, the main protagonist builds a team of other characters to aid him. Both involve world building although it is much more significant in Slime - Both the MC's (Rimuru and Kazuma) are vary of stereotypes and jinxes and both make fun of them regularly - Both are comedic and don't take themselves seriously - Both anime have a fair bit of fanservice although none of them ever venture into any significant romantic relationship between the characters. - Both have a very powerful man protagonist (aqua and rimuru) - Unlike slime where most of the characters act rationally are loyal to Rimuru and  read more
