Recommendations

Both of these Anime are dark Gothic revolving around the unusual romance a guy has with... a girl out of horror who just wants to be... normal... and not a monster.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Roles are reversed in terms of gender of characters. TBHK/JSHK = Girl - human, and Boy - Ghost. It's very very very good! I recommend to all! Boy has dark past, mysterious, very likeable. Girl is hilarious, absolutely hilarious, and extremely dark when it comes to the boy's past. I really do recommend!

There is a ghost of a girl that only one character can see, the male lead character. There are some things that the group needs to figure out revolving around the ghost, for good or for bad. What that is helps draw one into the series.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Gothic ghost mysteries of some form. A girl is invisible to all except one for a particular reason. There is also a lack of trust at times, which results in negative things happening.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Secrets involving the main female protagonist, but the theme of death run through both. Both use very similar Gothic styles with only slight differences color wise, but there is an emotional pull regarding the characters. The series get very dark, and very emotional, but doesn't dive in full blown right away.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Both series deal with a supernaturally perceptive protagonist and the supernaturally afflicted arrogant girl who becomes his girlfriend, as well as various unusual supernatural cases he becomes involved in. Tasogare Otome's aesthetics and directorial style are very obviously influenced by Bakemonogatari as well.
report Recommended by lithiumflower
Without giving too much info and spoiling, both female protagonists are somewhat going through similar circumstances. What is quite interesting is they have the same first name... Yuuko Kanoe and Yuuko Amamiya (ef - A tale of melodies), and similar features (hair/color, body) NOTE: However this recommendation is a SEQUEL so it is suggested to watch the prequel first (ef - A tale of Memories) and understand the story.

Similarities: Both involves girls who was murdered and was unable to rest in peace. Both involves boy who always gets pestered by the ghost of the dead girl. Dissimilarities: One has an extra horror genre, while the other one has an extra comedy genre.
report Recommended by Nasty001
Both series centre around a uniform-wearing girl with unusual powers who originates from a bygone era. Natsu no Arashi has a lot more humour and slice-of-life aspects compared to Tasogare Otome's fairly consistant drama and seriousness, but both series have a reasonable enough balance of humour and seriousness that they're still very comparable. Additionally, they both have a similar directorial style -- not all THAT surprising, given Oonuma Shin worked on both.

Both have the key storyline of hatred and almost the same so sad past for the protagonists
report Recommended by mrsLEE
The main character meets a mysterious female. He helps her solve mysteries. Both are harboring a secret. One involves ghost/spirits. While the other a no ghosts.
report Recommended by AnimeFan500
They are similar only in that a ghost contacts a human and they develop a relationship over time. The series, however, had completely different tones to them, as Tasogare was dark and depressing, and Ginban was mostly upbeat. Both characters experience hardship, however, Tazusa faces the hardships with her life, and Niiya faces them when trying to live with Yuuko.

both have a great mix of comedy and ghost stories, both have beatiful animation, and i dig both...

A guy who solve the mysterious and dark past of a girl with amnesia + comedy
report Recommended by Parantica
Both series' selling point is their female leads, Victorique and Yuuko Both series are mysterious and unravel as the show progresses Both will pull on your heartstrings towards the end
report Recommended by ZachM
The stories are centered around a female ghost and a guy that can see them and their relationship. Both male MCs are trying to help the female MCs with their problems. Tasogare Otome is more dark themed while Yuragi-sou is more light themed and relaxing.
report Recommended by iwsifakismag
While Tasogare Otome x Amnesia only has a little horror in it, the horror parts have a very similar feeling to all of Corpse Party. They involve ghosts who were horribly killed in the past and now reside in a school. Corpse Party is extremely gory while the other has hardly any in comparison.
report Recommended by Asfaria
There's quite a few interesting similarities in both of these series to be honest and worth the watch: First of all, both series involves a strange girl who has a fascination or relationship with the main protagonist. They form a bond and shares many "romantic" moments at various times. Secondly, both series takes place at a school setting. Third, both series has a supernatural feeling to them that are out of the ordinary. Fourth, both series contains a lot of drama with the relationship between the two main characters as one of the driven themes. As such, both series plays on the characters' interactions and the circumstances they  read more

The 2 have a sobrenatural waifu that is in love with the main character, have a good harem ,tons of ecchi humor and a very better romance story with a lot of fantasy

Dreams and memories, the loss and gain of them. The Anime have similar styles and similar tones. There is also a lot of comedy built in along with the angst.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Top tier waifus being over-obsessive over the main protagonist. Both shows offers some drama as well as very wholesome scenes to accompany the romance part of the show (>‿◠)✌

The lead's in both animations are infatuated with a Oni (鬼) Girl; Demon Girls Romance between the two are similar due to the Taboo nature of their love and both males share Ideology on the matter while their loves play with their lives in a fun and devilish way and battle to overcome matters of the underworld so they can be together

The art and the atmosphere are both similar, especially at the beginning of each. There's mystery and very mild horror used to create the beginning perspective. They both start slowly; increasing in action pace about halfway. There's also romance in each (though less of a plot basis for Shinsekai Yori). At the beginning of Shinsekai Yori, my mind SCREAMED Dusk Maiden of Amnesia due to the art and pace, however I truly believe Shinsekai Yori is more artful, deeper and a bit more fluid.

Both have eccentric girls and a boy who follows them Both have romance and funny scenes The main difference is that Tasogare Otome x Amnesia have a dark atmosphere and Chuunibyou doesn't

Both animes are about a supernatural girl that many fear, both of these female protagonist were alone for years until they met the male protagonist. Both main female are very wise, mischievous and both love to tease and flirt with the male protagonist.
report Recommended by Jayage
Both are ecchi romance anime's where a average young man falls in love with a supernatural woman who has dark past, in both the woman is very charming and flirtatious, both are great if you like a good mix of ecchi and romance.

-I really recommend both anime -For me these anime really have good plots and you can feel the difficulties faced by both couples in the anime -Besides, both anime contains mystery that leads the viewer want to watch the next episode to know how the mystery was solved. In addition both anime have very satisfying ending

Both series involve a non-human girl who become infatuated with a human boy and have somewhat of a love triangle. Hiro wants to ride in the FranXX with Zero Two as his partner and Teichii wants to help Yuuko find out how she died. Zero Two and Yuuko, as well as Hiro and Teichii, have similar personalities as well.

Tonally and in terms of the relationship between the leads, this is the closest I've found. A girl of two natures who is spooky and potentially dangerous becomes fixated on a nervous wreck of a boy who just wants to do the right thing. Whereas Mirai Nikki is interspersed with random bits of humor and lightness amidst the violence and dark themes, Tasogare starts out lighter in tone and gradually grows darker across the run of the series, eventually including that level of violence. However, the central focus on the unlikely romance between an adorable-yet-dangerous girl and a sweet guy who has to learn to  read more

Although both the shows may seem completely different, tasogare being more about the romance and RnS about a Harem, the former story is completely based on a ghost in love with a human while the latter includes a ghost in the Harem. (minor spoiler) Both shows introduce a part where the ghost has lost their confidence and the protagonist saves them.

Both stories about relationships with ghost-girl

Denpa Teki na Kanojo has kind of the same vibes as Tasogare Otome. Both animes have male leads who unintentionally meet a strange girl and both reveal dark secrets that makes the stories so addictive.Tasogare has a little Ecchi in it which Denpa Teki hasn't. But nonetheless both animes have a Mystery theme. I won't say it's completely similar. But if you have watched Tasogare Otome then you may like Denpa Teki.

Only MC and few other characters can see the girl Both based on school settings Main girl as senior (for Tasogare Otome x Amnesia it's kind of a grey area she is a ghost) main characters grows closer fast main girl characters behaviour have so many similarities Main mean of communication to the outside world through MC

In both anime, the two female main characters are mysterious. they have unique personality that can make you like their character. In TOA, is more serious and scary, while in denpa onna___ is focusing on the alien mystery and everyday life. Bonus. If you're a big fan of moe and panty shots, you're gonna love these two shows. enjoy! :D

Identical crux : a girl likes a guy but is a monster so it creates difficulties for them to be together

It may not look like this at first, but as the story proceeds and reaches its end (manga or special episodes) Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and ReLIFE are very similar in terms of romance and execution. Not gonna say more, but trust me; if you liked one of them, there's a high chance you'll enjoy the other one as well.

A blend of horror and comedy in a school setting and with some fanservice. The jokes often arise from the situations in which the protagonists can see the ghosts while other people do not see them.

Similarities: Same strange mysterious girl to normal guy arc. Same sotacon relationship between girl and boy. Same mischievous girl poking fun with the guy. Same school and supernatural genre. Dissimilarities: One is a ghost while the other is a deity. The guy ( aside from the relative) in the other anime is the only one who can see the girl, while in the other anime the girl is very visible to everyone else, but only a few knows that she's a deity. One has censored fanservice while the other has intense fanservice. One has an extra comedy, romance and ecchi genre, while the other has mystery and horror as it's extra genre.

Similarities: Same mysterious girl meeting ordinary boy kind of thing. Same mysterious wants to bang the ordinary boy but ordinary boy is no yet ready to have his cherries popped. Both have the same supernatural and school genre. Dissimilarities: The girl in one anime is a ghost while in the other the the girl is a deity/Extraterrestrial. One anime has parody as its main genre while the other has mystery as its main genre.

Similarities: Both main character can see.........DEAD PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! Both ghosts can't figure out what they need to do in order to cross over. Dissimilarities: The ghost in the other anime has the ability to physically manifest herself , while the other doesn't. Also, the ghost in the other anime is jealous, pesky and seemingly wants to pop the guys cherries, while in the other anime the ghost simply wants to engage in a pissing match with his wife's lover.

It's funny how both main female characters in both series are named Yuuko and have a mystery surrounding them. Both series also contain a boy who is able to see ghosts/spirits. They both include humor thrown into it, but the type of humor is different.

Both of these series focus on the supernatural and both have some unique ecchi scenes. Yuuko Kanoe and Senjougahara also look similar to some extent. Both are quite recent anime.
report Recommended by Deagle_zero
These two start out pretty light-hearted, with only hints of some darkness. The storylines involve high school-aged kids. However, in the final few episodes, plot twists abound and they become very dark.
report Recommended by Valkyrie_Wings
Both prominently feature the psychological effects of superstitious beliefs on the human mind such that the affected people become unreasonable and ignore logic in favor of tempting rumors, and the story takes a turn for the truly dark. I would also suggest that for those familiar with Dusk Maiden of Amnesia who are checking out the Higurashi series for the first time, that you consider the remainder of the franchise. Kaku Outbreak is just one small part of a larger character study.

The schools are huge and mazes, not to mention the contain a supernatural secret and a mystery needs to be solved. They also have detailed styles.

Ghost girls in school buildings... wait, let me do this again. Ghost girls in school get lonely but live their own ghost life. But mostly they just get lonely. It's just like a perfect ending for the Tasogare Otome or a really long prequel for the Alignment OVA.

Both feature a male mc who is drawn to the female mc both female mcs are other worldly -- one is a ghost the other is a being labeled as a spirit both females have memory issues both females get drawn to the male mc the females cannot relate to the rest of the world without the male mc

Both series contain the theme of horror and mystery. Although Cossette no Shouzou slides into the more serious side, both anime(s) retain its dark atmosphere. Romance and drama is also present in both series.

Although the genres are different, it follows a girl who had an accident, prior to the story. As a result, they have taken the role as a ghost, gallivanting around the main male character around the school or anywhere. However, unlike ghost who are hostile or terrorizing people, the "Ghost Girl" are seemingly have emotions, shy, beautiful, and somewhat jealous when other girls clinging on the male character. You might find some dark/action plot twist around the story. Dusk Maiden is mostly about detective showing some mystery and is somewhat a dark story. Both woman as the key characters are unable to accept reality, so they are deceiving themselves thus creating their own version of "reality". These two anime are also horror-themed and set in a school.

Both main guys have to take care of a girl. Both female protagonists are very attach to the male protagonist. The difference between these two anime is that the girl in Dragon Crisis is a Dragon while the girl in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is a ghost! Both anime are definitely worth watching!

The theme of school and clubs are present in both of these series. The main character has interactions with different characters of conflicting personalities. Although there is much comedy, both series have serious and emotional moments. Also, there is hints of obvious romance present in both series that are shown in an unique way. One way of supernatural, the other one of tsundere.

Both main charcthers from these series are suffering from amnesia and both series show how they find out about thei past and what they do when they remember. And they are feared an both get false rumors made up about them.Other than that the series couldn't be more different,Casshern Sins is about a guy who doesn't know what he is and is in a futuristic time and he fights robots while in Dusk Maiden of Amnesia the main Charcthers a ghost.Even though they seem completely different you'll enjoy them both if you just like to watch series where the Charcthers have to regain their memory.

Both main male characters are able to see supernatural beings that no one else (or rather, very few others) can. In Tasogare Otome x Amnesia it's ghosts, and in Natsume Yuujinchou it's ayakashi/youkai/mononoke.
