I've recently just finished Aria the Animation. And it's interesting because it is such a relaxing anime! You may want to check it out if you are ever feeling stressed...It has such a peaceful soundtrack and is just kind of a cute easygoing slice of life. O_O
Other than that, I've started Revolutionary Girl Utena. I really like it! It's refreshing to watch a pre-2000's anime every once in a while ;o
How's your anime-watching been going? :P
Recently I've started watching Gintama. All the elitists on this site swear by either that or One Piece.
I can't stand long-running shounen, honestly. I feel that I get so much more out of the 12 to 13 episode series....
But I've went so many years staying away from series with like 500545439590398 episodes, so I just wanted to get somewhat of a glimpse of them. :/
It's a shame that many anime fans still pay attention exclusively to the Big 3. I mean, I don't have /much/ of a problem with it because it is something they enjoy...
I guess it goes with something I do, too.. I love harems and I know lots of anime fans absolutely hate them. :/
Recently, I am trying to sit through long shounen shows like Bleach. I avoid them because the plot generally goes nowhere, and even the 'nonsense' parts (which I am used to in the type of anime I watch anyway) aren't interesting.
I started Bleach because a friend of mine who is a fledgling anime fan raved about how amazing it is. I know this to be false, but I figured I should finally just try to sit through it.
Oh, and I love how fans of the Big 3 often cite an episode number as to when the series gets "good". Like, I'm not going to sit through 500 episodes of One Piece for the story to supposedly get good. -_-
But I was wrong about that. Especially the last few episodes. It goes pretty deep and changes tone in a really good way.
I tried watching H2O a couple years back, but I recently started it from the beginning and finished it.
I love visual novel harems, so I thought this was good. I love bishoujo in anime, so that's a plus. I really liked its atmospheric setting, kind of like Air.
If you like the "summery" kind of anime, I recommend Umi Monogatari. It is really, really good!
Now that you point it out, I think they are really similar in content. I liked them both.
I know what it's about, but since it's an older anime I haven't gotten to it.
Gj-bu a good harem. But, I don't think you'd like it.
Tamako Market probably won't like it.
Shinsekai Yori, you'll either love it or hate it. It's a great sci-fi anime. Takes place 1000 years in the future but it isn't what you'd expect a society living that far in the future to look like.
