Both are fighting tournaments with many fighting styles/abilities, bloody action, and hype moments. Both are very quick reads and will keep you reading very easily.

Almost non-stop action with numerous cast of characters fighting mostly 1on1 duels. Majority of the manga is one huge tournament.

Over the top fights with all the focus on the action and colorful cast with various fighting styles.

Both series takes on a serious and perhaps violent approach at their sport. The main male protagonist has more of an antihero role and tries to make their dream into a reality. Throughout the story, they run into dangerous adversaries that truly tests their abilities to the limit. Rikudou is also known for its darker themes that includes death. Both series has dynamic realism when it comes to the fighting tactics and mechanics of their competitive nature.

Various murderers and criminals who can go all out with their immense bloodlust. They actually have brains to back up their brawn.

These are both action oriented martial arts stories that focus heavily on a variety of different combat sports, as well as a series of "small fights" that lead up to stronger, and more important martial arts battles that carry a lot of stakes

Both manga includes martial arts and corporations. Usogui takes more gambling path, meanwhile Kengan Asura more shounen path

well-crafted and bizarre fights at the same time. A manga entirely made for combat fans

They're both hype.

Both are based on a fighting tournament with the main characters being a normal person who suddenly gets paired up with a strong fighter participating in the tournament

Two very violent action manga with 1v1 duels that might end in a participant's death if defeated. There are seriously ruthless characters in there, not showing any mercy due to the necessity to win no matter what.

This manga has the same vibe. The action is crazy and the character fighting styles will blow your mind. A mix between Baki and sun-ken rock and it's amazing. Detailed and dynamic drawings and an interesting story. Must read and watch

Tournement style battle manga with a set main protagonist vying to be the best.

Just by reading the first chapter of Kengan Ashura, it immediately reminded me of Shamo, dark art and meaty muscle men, then both MCs lacks emotions, revolving around martial arts and bloody, ruthless attacks. It's so beautiful, I love these types of mangas :)

A Tournement style battle manga fighting in their master's place to see who will take over here its japan while in kengan its the kengan association characters backstory and characterisation are given as the battle continues on

These mangas, both with around 250 chapters, have a focus of a martial arts tournament arc, and said tournament includes various martial art styles (though Kengan Ashura has more variety), an emphasis on the power of pro-wrestling, as well as an MC who's not quite your traditional fighter.

Kengan Ashura reminded me of Hajime no Ippo in many points. First, characters development. In both case, even the most useless character is being give a story, more or less well-written, and that really enhance fights. The fights are intense, the cutting is mostly perfect, and the drawing is beautiful. Both of them are references in "Fighting Manga"'s style.

The main male protagonist gets involved in combat sports that tests the limits of their abilities. Starting off as an underdog, they work their way up by fighting against powerful adversaries. Both series holds tournaments as part of its story to introduce new fighters from around the world. And as the story progresses, we learn the various fighting mechanics in both series. Kengan Ashura is infamous for its violence and some mature content. On the other hand, Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru focuses more on action and storytelling in the ring.
