Both manga contains amazing fight and have amazing back stories for each characters. Kengan if you want a full raw power without supernatural things, go for Shuumatsu for a fight with supernatural power fight (but I think they still use raw power too).

Kengan Ashura is a tournament focused fighting manga with emphasis on the fighters involved and their backstories, fighting styles, tactics, etc. (Just like what ROR/SNV does with it's fighters being gods and humans). It has some of the best fights in all of animanga, and is an absolute must-read for any SNV/ROR fans. I picked up SNV/ROR after reading kengan and absolutely loved it.
