Both shows are by the same director, Satou Junichi. There's a lot of similarities, such as a lot of detail to the little things, and a lot of similar camera shots. Plus they're both slice of life shows at heart, and should be experienced by anyone who enjoys the genre.

Both have a lovely cute short girl as protagonist together with her girl friends. Both are slice of life that make you smile.

Makers from the same studio. Both have a similar premise of finding friendship through art and photography in a laidback setting. Cats make recurring appearances in both stories.

These are both comfy CGDCT set in the countryside about girls who continue to participate in hobbies introduced to them by their late parents. Tamayura is about photography and Let's Make A Mug Too is about pottery.

This is pretty much the same as One Off, and it also happens to be an OVA. You get 4 girls, all friends, each one with their own dreams and things they're good at. It also takes place in a small town, and the main character also happens to meet an older someone that inspires them. The only notable difference is that, in One Off, the main character actually dislikes the town where the series takes place, but in Tamayura the MC loves it.

Both are moe, cute anime that are in the slice of life genre. The art style has the same feel to them, but not quite the same. Both focus on interests and hobbies as well as day-to-day life.

Both are heartwarming stories about a young girl following her dreams while dealing with the loss of a parent at an early age. Even through their tragic loss, their fond memories of their late parents, and their kindness toward those around them bring joyful tears to the audience's eyes.

Both shows are centered around a girl who reconnects with a memory and an old dream she used to have, and the friends who stand by her as she gets there. The characters in Tamayura are a little older than the ones in Yama no Susume/Encouragement of Climb, though.

A young lady tries to find something out about herself through slice-of-life day to day adventures with the people around her.

Binchou-tan and Tamayura (OVA only, the TV show is is boring) are both very relaxing slice-of-life anime that show the normal life of a group of people.

+ Both are focused on group of girls doing some funny and cute things. + Both are very lighthearted and calming. Recommended, if you tired of these dark, depressing shows and just want to relax. Art, music, comedy and these little pieces of drama are better executed in Non Non Biyori, but it doesn't mean that Tamayura is bad series - it`s actually kind of enjoyable and sweet OVA, especially if you like this type of anime - I suppose, that Non Non Biyori is just too good. So, if you already finished all your calming anime and want more, trying Tamayura could be a good choice.

Both are relaxing slice of life anime. Both have a focus on cameras and pictures, although with YKK this is a bit less so and mostly in the first episode.

In these shows, the main character shares an important life lesson they learned from their parents or grandparents in the form of a supernatural symbol with other characters and the audience. They are both relaxing, optimistic slice of life shows that feature more character development than eventful storylines.

both are talking about girls and their stories and interests in " slice of life " atmosphere

Having watched quite an amount of SoL animes, I found that Koisuru Asteroid has a lot of elements that resemble the Tamayura series. Tamayura is a long original series while Koisuru Asteroid is a 12-episode anime adapted from the manga. Tamayura delves deeper into each individual character and is a much slower anime compared to Koisuru Asteroid. Both animes emphasize on the theme of "to each his own". They feature characters that have different interests but somehow able to form relationships through events and encounters; Thus, making them more diverse than most school anime. In Koisuru Asteroid, it has subjects on astronomy, earth science, tabloid and bakery  read more

If you are in for something even more chill, try out Tamayura. It's a longer series but is one of the most mellow relaxing anime you'll find, set in one of the most peaceful towns in japan.

Both are brilliant 'slice of life's to relax to. They have the same eerie feel to them, and done in a similar style whereby you follow a girl's journey through everyday life taking pictures and generally finding themselves and the little enjoyments of life. Fuujin Monogatari has a tiny bit more action and an element of fantasy whilst Tamayura is a bit more toned down.

Potte (Tamayura) and Kanna (Child of Kamiari Month) are two middle school girls who have to deal with the death of a parent. Even though their parent has died some time ago, they are still feeling their loss keenly. Memories of their parent are tied to their hobbies (photography and running), which is an important aspect of the anime. Tamayura is an iyashikei so the emotional storyline takes time to develop.

Grief is a difficult experience at any age, but a child who loses a parent has trouble understanding their feelings and coping. A Letter to Momo and Tamayura explore this situation through the lives of two young girls - Momo and Potte. Luckily, they aren't alone. Potte has an incredible group of friends to support her as she copes with the loss of her father through photography. Momo has three yokai following her around as she copes with the loss of her father through trying to solve the mystery of an unfinished letter from her father. Both anime have well-written stories (when including the sequels  read more

Both are refreshing OVA's with a refreshing tone, setting, and overall feel. Both have their cute moments, both are nice slice of life, Both have awesome OPs and ED's,and both leave you wanting to see more. Tamayura is about photography, while Winter Garden is about love. Winter Garden is a 2 episode OVA(which could become a 12 or 13 episode series) while Tamayura is 4 episodes and is getting its own TV anime adaption.

Kyo and Fu have very similar personalities and appearence. They are a bit clumsy and some times not enought smart. Also the two stories are set in some kind of villages. Finally in both stories the protagonist has lost a parent.
