Makers from the same studio. Both have a similar premise of finding friendship through art and photography in a laidback setting. Cats make recurring appearances in both stories.
All is to say that, in my oppinion, Sketchbook is like a "spiritual father" of Tamayura.
Both include a bit weird girl with clear passion - surrounded by friends. They have their distinctive traits, and bring some humor into the series.
But in both cases it's not most important part of it. Just an addition :)
What is important that climate, tempo and settings are similar - peacefull and optimistic.
