TYO Animations (TYO Animations Inc) was the corporate name of Yumeta Company (YUMETA CO., LTD.) from July 1, 2009 to December 1, 2017. Established as Shizuoka Animation (Shizuoka Animation Co., Ltd.) on March 5, 1986, by Satoshi Yamaguchi, a former animator at Tama Production. The studio later changed its name to Yumeta Company (YUMETA CO., LTD.) and was made into a subsidiary of TYO in January of 2005. In July 2009, TYO merged its anime studio subsidiaries — Yumeta Company and Hal Film Maker — to form TYO Animations (TYO Animations Inc); in which Hal Film Maker was absorbed into Yumeta Company. Satoshi Yamaguchi and Katsunori Haruta, then-current representative directors of Yumeta Company and Hal Film Maker, were appointed as representative directors of the new company. In TYO’s press release, the company stated that the aim of the merger was to help reduce the associated costs in animation production and to strengthen its planning and production capabilities. In December 2017, the studio was acquired by Memory-Tech Holdings from AOI TYO Holdings and was placed under its Graphinica subsidiary, and the studio's name was reverted back to Yumeta Company.
Following the formation of TYO Animations, the Hal Film Maker and Yumeta Company brands continued being used until 2010, with all subsequent works starting with Plastic Neesan in 2011, being produced under the TYO Animations name until 2017. Notable works as TYO Animations include: Tamayura: Hitotose (2011), Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji (2014), and Yuru Yuri San☆Hai! (2015).
