They have similarities to be a story where the protagonist turns into a cat to learn a life lesson.

A Whisker Away and Spirited Away are two movies that proudly feature Japanese culture within the more magical elements of their stories, as seen in the spirit world in Spirited Away and the use of masks in A Whisker Away. Both movies also feature a female protagonist who ends up in a parallel world and a special kind of heartwarming feel that can make you smile.

The biggest similarity is probably the way they block people out. Mc here sees them as scare crows and the a silent voice MC sees them with X's over their faces. They also have pretty similar styles

Both have a high-school girl MC who is playing around with her newfound power before she realizes the consequences of the power the hard way.

Mimi wo Sumaseba is another great Studio Ghibli film that has two characters trying to find their passion in life similar to Nakitai Watashi, however, I would say Mimi wo Sumaseba is an overall better film with great characters and classic art.

These shows are similar in that they portray a kind of romance story (in a very innocent way). Both shows feature a girl transforming into a different species to get closer to someone, and they face a choice of choosing which species they prefer to stay as..Amazing fantasy world designs, sometimes 'creepy' or 'scary' vibes and they share similarities in the parents section as well.

Both movies are set in the real world with a hint of the supernatural, and they both contain some elements of mystery and romance. These two films are also made by the same company, Studio Colorido, so if you enjoyed this film, you'll definitely love Penguin Highway.

Annoying. Teasing Master Taakgi-san and A Whisker Away both follow a girl who is directly annoying to the partner. Teasing Master has Takagi and her counteracting of whatever Nishikata has to play. Whisker Away has Muge and her silly antics she pushed onto Hinode. Both are good comedy anime with touches of romance, Whisker Away being a movie, Teasing Master being a TV anime.

Young love. Both A Whisker Away and The Moon is Beautiful follows young individuals falling in love and how they must cope with such a challenge of trying to make a relationship work out at such a young age. A Whisker Away is in the pre-relationship stage of the spectrum, with Muge becoming a cat to help her. Tsukigakirei is in the relationship stage of the spectrum, with Akane and Kotarou trying to work out how to be together in the midst of their works they have to complete. Both are good romance anime with Whisker Away being a movie, Tsukigakirei being a TV anime. Also mostly  read more

Extramundane. Orange and A Whisker Away both follow people who transcend what is the current world order in shifting elements such as time and shape, all for the sake of someone they hold dear to themselves. Orange does this with Naho and her friends sending messages to the past to prevent Kakeru's death. Whisker Away uses Muge and her newfound ability to transform into a cat to get Hinode's attention. Both are good school romance drama anime, though Orange has shoujo elements in it compared to Whisker Away's comedic style.

Supernormal. Weathering With You and A Whisker Away both follow young MCs using unnatural powers of shifting nature, whether it be shapeshifting or weather-changing. A somewhat fantastical story plays out with these characters understanding the limits of what they should be doing in where they stand. As said, Weathering With You does this with the weather changing on will, Whisker Away does this with people turning into cats and humans. Both are good anime movies dealing with supernatural powers held by teens. Both are also romance drama movies.

Attention seeker. A Whisker Away and Mirai both follow a young person who is constantly looking for the attention of a particular person, more so in the name of love. Whisker Away's Muge does everything in her power to make Hinode fall for her. Mirai's Kun tries to avert his mother's attention from his new baby sister. Both are good supernatural anime movies with Mirai being more of an adventure, in comparison to the rom-com drama of Whisker Away.

Great anime romance movies to watch for relaxing and passing the time as they are lighthearted, short, and aren't too heavy for the heart yet can still give the same sensation as other dramatic romance films can do. Moreover, I think that the premise and setting are highly similar; a tale about a young schoolgirl who cannot confess to her crush. I recommend both for those who want to watch a non-depressing melodramatic romance film.

Both films are about cats with some magical elements. And the protagonists also go on a journey of self-discovery to be better people and improve the bonds between the people they love.

Actually, just about everything in Suzume is exceptional. A Whisker Away starts off with an adorable premise, a socially awkward girl named Miyo kept failing to catch her crush's attention, but she finally succeeded after transforming into a cat and earning Kento's caring arms. Except Kento doesn't know that the new stray he adopted was Miyo. So it was a Catch-22 situation for Miyo; does she keep being a cat to stay close to Kento? Or does she reveal her true self to help Kento with his problems? Regardless, the transfiguration and the cats would be a welcome sight and notion for anyone still hung up on  read more

i thought that both movies had a similar vibe, similar animation style, a main charater with almost the same personality and a similar relationship with the main male character, there's not really much else to it but i think that both movies are worth checking out at least once

Despite very different premises these two series are incredibly similar . Let ' s start with the basics , The main characters miyo sasaki and ichigo momomiya are immensely similar from abilties to the troupe of loud girl likes quiet boy . Miyo and ichigo can both turn into cats , though it ' s in different ways these transformations for prolonged periods ( spoiler — warning ) . . . can cause them to lose their human form and forever remain a cat ( spoiler — ended ) . Both have crushes who are more reserved towards their human form and are more  read more

Cats. Just cats. A Whisker Away and She and Her Cat: EF follows bonds made by a human and cat. Not much else similar in terms of stories. Both are good romance anime, with A Whisker Away being a movie, She and Her Cat: EF being a short TV anime.

Some interesting love stories, resulting in characters going the extra mile for each other. Not like an "on a normal level" thing, but breaking reality and entering supernatural ideas. Ends up being quite a movie, but one could easily call out they are such for the wrong reasons.

Rejecting. In an eccentric way, both Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! and A Whisker Away both follow an eccentric and energetic girl who has this strange front line defence for protecting themself from showing true feelings that abides within them. Chu2 does this with Rikka and her antics as a chuuni. Whisker Away with Muge acting hyper in addition to her cat transformations. Both are good romance anime within a school setting, also about the growing relationship of two dudes who have a strong disinterest of the one that constantly chases them down, only for both of these young men to begin and understand why these crazy  read more

If you enjoyed Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, chances are you'll also enjoy Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu because both share the premise of being lighthearted childhood romances. They offer a relaxing viewing experience without high expectations, featuring cute and simple romantic narratives.

A Whisker Away, while not a TV series, shares some similarities with Ojamajo Doremi. Not only are both directed by Junichi Sato, but the main character is an enthusiastic girl who wants to be something related to their story's theme—Miyo wants to be a cat, while Doremi wants to be a witch. They accidentally get their wish through a magical item given to her from a magical being, and learn about the existence of a parallel world. The story also surprisingly develops several other characters and not just the main character.

Both a girl wondering about love getting some dilem trough magic. Junker is more focus on internal feelings where watashi wa neko is more about romance and magic.

Similarities: 1. Both story focused on a young girl 2. They have a family issue, which affects their personalities 3. Due to that reason, they try to escape from reality with their own way (one by transforming into a cat, the other by exploring the world of imagination) 4. They both have a guy who they feel close to (one as a crush, the other as an imaginary friend) 5. The main characters are being targeted by a villain who tries to steal something 6. Supernatural/fantasy elements Difference: A Whisker Away was about a middle school girl, and it had romance. While Imaginary was about a younger girl, and her imaginary friend.

Both movies focus on the importance of appreciating what you have, specifically when it comes to family, although be warned Colorful is a much darker movie and doesn't have a romantic subplot.

Both are about Main characters who have, or gains the power to transform into a specific animal, and they eventually face the dilemma to decide if they want to remain human or stay as the animal instead. The only difference is that in The wiskers away, the MC transforms into a cat in order to get closer to her love, while the Wolf children is a coming of age where the children have to decide to stay human or live a life as a wolf.

While one of these is a movie and the other a TV show, A Whisker Away and Princess Tutu share some noticeable similarities. Both are directed by Junichi Sato and are about a quirky girl who has a magical item that can change her into a form that can get her closer to her crush. Despite this, the girl still finds difficulty in sharing her feelings, and is constantly pursued by the being who gave her the magical item. The story also takes the time to develop several other characters, showing the audience a world that isn't just about the main character.

Nyan Koi! features a character that can speak to cats (not by choice), and in a Whisker away the MC can also converse with them. They are both on the lighter side, Nyan Koi! feeling a bit more silly, and whisker away more intense. The protagonists of the two shows are faced with the same danger of becoming something they don't necessarily want to be, and also their crushes are cat lovers. One main difference would be that in one the show is through the eyes of a male character and the other a female...

Unrequited love. A Whisker Away and Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun both follow two girls who are chasing down a boy who they have a romantic interest in. Whisker Away does this with Muge constantly causing havoc to Hinode's peace. Monthly Girls' following Sakura helping Nozaki in his manga after a failed confession. Both are good rom-com anime with Whisker Away having the side of drama, Monthly Girls' just being pure comedy.

Alternate reality. Children aren't the most rational-minded people in the world, and with such a handicap, stories The Boy and The Beast and A Whisker Away give a good example of the flaws young people have in making their own decision to life, showing how an unwanted reality can affect those into the going down an unnatural growing path. Boy and Beast follows Ren travelling into the beast realm, after running from his family affairs. The same is with Whisker Away with Muge becoming a cat to run from her family affairs. Both are good anime movies with both being as dramatic and romantic as one another.

Dishonest. Toradora and A Whisker Away both follow dishonest individuals when it comes to their feelings with their supposed love interest. Toradora has tsundere Taiga and scary-looking Ryuuji. Whisker Away has hyper Muge and a calmer Hinode. Both are good drama romance anime, all with a comedic atmosphere around a school setting.

Facade of hate. Lovely Complex and A Whisker Away both follow two pairs that this misunderstood relationship with each other, more so in a romantic way. Lovely Complex does this with comedy duo Koizumi and Ootani, Whisker Away does this eccentric Muge and a calmer Hinode. Both of these pairs have the ladies question whether they should initiate a relationship with their love interest. Both are good romance anime with a good share of comedy. All in a school setting.

These shows feature the same type of 'silly humour' , Large/Fat/Grumpy talking cats..(In a Whisker away he gets more screen time though). A tunnel type entrance to a strange and different world. Stories in which someone is in need of saving or their lives could change forever.

Transcend. Both Your Name and A Whisker Away are about teenagers who transcend reality with supernatural occurrences. Your Name does this with swapping bodies, Whisker Away does this with people transforming between cats and humans. Both Muge and Mitsuha also start these phenomena due to wanting to escape the life they lived. Both are good anime movies with pleasing visuals present in both of them. Also has a touch of romance to them.
