YES its so much more than only a horror show, its a whole phsycology manhwa and it takes you on this rollercoaster of emotions and it keeps you making decisions if you should like the characters or hate them ughh its so good.

Well then. I have to say that to my standars, short manga are the ones with less than 100 chapters or so. In that regard, I'd recommend two of them.
The first is Nana, which is one of the best I've read and it's only 84 chapters. It has amazing characters and complex relationships, and even though it has it, is not full on romance, is not cheesy. In that regard, i'd say is more drama than romance. I would recommend it as a really good option to see if you can like that kind of genre at it's best. The other one is Planetes, which is a space sci-fi from the same author of Vinland Saga (so you might be a little familiar with his work). It has like 25 chapters and is really good. It is not like a Star Wars kind of space story, it is more intimate and psychological oriented. Maybe this will be more appealing to you since Nana has other focus, so this would be a more secure recommendation. Both mangas have anime adaptations, although Nana's manga continued a little more than the anime, and Planetes adaptation was good, so you can read it and watch it after, or however you think you might enjoy it more

Judging from your taste, I really recommend Kaguya-sama Love is War. Its a light-hearted comedy series! It is also one of my personal favorites so please watch it!

If you want something on the action side of thing watch Mob Psycho! I really love both of these recommendations so I hope you watch them! Oh, and don’t worry they are just 12 episodes each!
