- Both are slice of life featuring supernatural beings - Both have low-key hilarious jokes that would be actually be super dark if not for the way they are executed

It gives you the same feeling watching it, the soundtracks, the characters, the artwork.. they are so identical while having completely different story. But IMO Gabriel is way better than Himouto because Himouto doesn't have a plot, you will never feel as engaged as watching Gabriel, you watch it just for fun.

Although these shows have different premises, they are both a parody of typical innocent CGDCT shows and tell about angels and demons who have come to our world. Moreover, both titles have a comically evil character as one of the main girls. At the same time, although Jashin-chan strongly focuses on violence and pop-cultural references, Gabriel is usually more casual.

Despite their settings, both being comedies in which the forces of good and evil live side-by-side in an everyday setting, these shows could not be further from each other. Gabriel Dropout is a comedy specialized in mean-spirited humor, where we're supposed to laugh at the characters' misfortune; if this speficic type of humor misses you, you should avoid it (like me). On the other hand, Machikado Mazoku is, while comedic in nature, actually a heartwarming tale about human kindness. I personally would recommend checking out the latter.

Angels and devils forced into a slice of life situation fighting among each other with a hint of role reversal, although both sides end up just being friends that secretly hate each other. Both have a lot of comedy but Maou sama has a bit more story and character focus (doesn't always work but it's good) while Gabriel was made for laughs and a few of common trope characters everyone loves.

Both have a main character coming from another world, who wants to be evil and impress others but ends up being nice and bullied by animals and other people.

even having completely differents themes, your style and narrative is similar, with aspects very communs in "moe animes".
report Recommended by Roberthi
Both shows are quite similar including (but not limited to) the similarities between Jahy and Satania. Both present similar styles of humor, mostly based on the contrast between the supposed role of the characters and their actual standing. Both develop slowly, though Jahy has more of a driven storyline and Gabriel Dropout depends more on its ensemble cast.

An Anime with Fallen Angel' as protagonists where we can find that they didn't act like truly Angels. The Principal character refuse keep living in the heaven and plans stay in the Earth doing some human "inmoral stuff" for som people.

Comedy moe slice of life focusing on supernatural girls living ordinary lives in modern Japan.

- Group of 4 girls and their everyday life (Gabriel - School/New Game - Work) - Both have the same amount of comedy on every episode - Similar artstyle and random events related to the anime location (School/Work)
report Recommended by Leonard_Roez
Both are four cute girls doing cute things situation comedies with very good humour level. Character types are different, but it definetly give you the same feeling.

-Both of anime are showing girls/lolis as main characters and doing cute things -Both of characters in anime are mostly known as non-human, in Gabriel there are devils and angels, and in Demi-chan is usually half monsters -Both of anime have setting in school life -Both of anime have light story and plots, so it's easy to enjoy them especially for people who looking for relaxing anime

Both anime deal with divine and otherworldly beings living a mundane lifestyle mixed with hilarious hijinks.

Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru is essentially a rom-com version of Gabriel DropOut with an obviously more important and central focus on ships than CGDCT Gabriel DropOut. With almost the same division of angels and demons leads into the snarky “not as she seems” blonde Yamato Nadeshiko and the black-haired tsundere demon. The main difference is that here the two main characters are much more immersed in the school SoL with human characters and basically act out all the scenes together instead of 4 characters in Gabriel (I think you can say that Lily and Akutsu share not only the personalities and dynamics  read more

Top class high school humor with everlastingly recurrent moments (which are always, paradoxically, the elements of surprise). Some surrealist elements. Similar moe characters (dumb one, kind one, shy one, cheeky one, etc.). Endless mines for reaction images and memes.

- Both are what you might call CGDCT - Both have supernatural twists - Both have moments of comedy (although WDS is more serious while DropOut is purely comedy) - Both focus on a group of middle/high school-aged girls
report Recommended by Atsunome
Both are above average cute-girls-doing-cute-things in a school setting. Both are also actually funny and don't rely solely on cuteness for enjoyment. Love Lab is more wholesome and has some emotional moments, while DropOut plays up sadistic behaviour for laughs (you may or may not be in the mood for that)

Both anime have similar type of Gag Comedy and Humor involving an all-girl cast, And Both Anime are by the Same Director.

Same stupid humor. Something otherworldly is also going on. Characters are kinda similar on some level.
report Recommended by kuronashi
Both animes have girls showing us their scholar life, their experiences and how they grow their friendship together with silly and funny moments.
report Recommended by Tsukihi_Phoenix
Both are really similar in reverse-roles. As in they portray characters that usually act one way. Gabriel DropOut - Angels have devil personalities and devil has angel personalities. Beelzebub - Hell is portrayed differently. It's not dark and gloomy as it is usually thought of in real life.
report Recommended by octAY
Both anime are comedies in a school setting and involve angels who behave sadistically and/or in other ways that are out-of-character for angels.

Basically, both series has two main similar things, cute girls doing cute things. So if you liked this anime, I would recommend that you watch Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? which is similar because it is also light hearted.

Character with a loose association to god works at a cafe

Both shows involve magic and have the "evil-doers" being nicer than the ones who are supposed to being doing good.

Both are similar because both Keroro and Gabriel are from another place (Keroro in his own home planet and Gabriel in her own home world, heaven), they are both lazy and can sometimes get scolded by others (Natsumi and Vignette). They also do sometimes bully their own friends (Keroro against Dororo and Gabriel against Satania). Lastly, they love doing their own things (Keroro with his Gunpla and manga; and Gabriel with her Computers and manga). I will also not to forget the comedy that these two has because they are also on-par. If you watch Gabriel Dropout, you might even see the similarities if you  read more

both of these animes are mostly different, but are still similar. gabriel dropout and wataten are both comedy + school animes, both involve the topic of angels, and each anime has four main characters that are girls ( gabriel dropout is about actual angels, and demons, while wataten is about how miyako thinks of hana as an angel, so that's how they're similar to each other, because they both are about angels in some sort of way )

While at first these animes don't seem that similar (and honestly they're not lol), they both have such wacky concepts and a ridiculous sense of humor that anybody who likes one will likely enjoy the other. The animation is pretty different but both animes are quite exaggerated. Oh, and I forgot to mention the characters. Both of the protagonists are absolute Kazumas. In Konosuba the sadist becomes a masochist, Satania stays the same, and the normal is replaced for a really obnoxious chick. While there is some overlap, there's not so much that it feels like a copy and they are both an absolute riot!  read more

Slice of life. High-schoolers do fun things , one of them really like making fun of the others ( especially one ) and one of them really want the others to stop. In the end they still are kinda happy of the attention they get.
report Recommended by SukiNaru
Both are above average moe comedy shows. Gakkougurashi! is definitely darker, but this difference should not deter you if you enjoyed the moe comedy aspect of the shows.
report Recommended by TMoane
Cute, colorful school-girls doing cute, school related things with their friends. Neither anime takes itself too seriously and are funny and relaxing.

both are comedy anime surrounding a group of high school girls ups and downs.although the plot is different the whole idea of the two are very similar.also both have good waifus
report Recommended by sakuraskies
Not only does the main character Gabriel and Tachibana from each anime look extremely similar, the side characters also have a similar vibe to them depending on their intelligence and knowledge level. Although two completely different plots, the characters appear almost the same in each anime. By watching these two, it is almost like looking at a mirror at how the characters would continue to play out the story line due to their similar nature and both feature good character development for their characters. Thus, if you like one, you should also like the other.

Both are comedies that are directed by Masahiko Oota. They evolve around the daily lives of the cast, and the situations that occur between the characters. The main characters are female, and much of the other cast too. There are similarities in character design, and traits. Some bullying is included, but not to the point it made me mad. I even laughed about it. If you want to watch cute girls doing cute, mean or funny things, both titles may be for you.

Uzaki has a lot in common with Satania, she's voiced by the same seiyuu, and many scenes are nearly same as in Gabdro. "Gabriel DropOut" fans will feel at home.
report Recommended by tamagoczek
Both series circle around the daily lives of a group of girls whom have a cordial relationship with one another. The style of presentation of both are very similar to a yonkoma or 4-panel comic, though Gabriel DropOut does have more continuity. Apart from this, both anime sport the same laid-back aesthetic while both groups of friends tackle everyday living.

- Very similar character design - In both shows, the characters have 'superpowers'. - Both shows are funny and lighthearted.
report Recommended by OOCentral
Supernatural everyday life with a group of girls, one being angels and devils while the other having those who are able to tell fortunes, summon spirits as well having witches. They're both funny and relaxing to watch tho at times Urara has some serious time but hardly any really. I'm sure if you enjoy one, you'll likely enjoy the other

- Both MCs are similar in the way they are lazy - Can be quite cynical of work and life
report Recommended by cornonacob
They're both 4 girl moe comedy/slice of life shows with a supernatural twist.
report Recommended by EerieLime
Both series feature an angel who does more harm than good, and a demon who does more good than harm, with a healthy dose of resultant humor.
report Recommended by precurejunkie
- Absurd and comedic scenarios scenarios - Both have an MC that loves video games and will do anything to play them instead of being productive. - Takes place in a city and has Slice of Life elements - Fantasy characters (vampires/angels) that mingle with humans
report Recommended by cornonacob
* Similar art style * Angels/shingami and Angels/Demons * School, supernatural comedy * Cute girls

both anime have the same type of humour. each episode is funny. and supernaturals characters also involved. art and animation are also the same style.

Same daily basis.. With a lazy girl as an otaku.. one was very sociable and other one just wants to get some attention They prefer not to get caught one of her secrets or doing ridiculous stunt everyday
report Recommended by HikiNEET021
Both are light hearted comedies where "good" and "evil" are pitted against each other. General Vamp is best girl by far.
report Recommended by Tinybox
- comedic slice-of-life school anime - both anime involve people getting teased by other people (and that's one of the main plot points); Satanya by Gabriel and Raphiel - Nishikata by Takagi
report Recommended by Sayaznk
Same feel where the characeters are chuuni. However in Dropout the characters are actually angels and demons while in Chuunibyou they just act chuuni. Also both share the same comedic appeal with overly dramatic characters.
report Recommended by Qwoto
Both involvers certain characters who gave up their very promising careers for a very pathetic lifestyle in gaming........where they both don't give a thing about their future.
report Recommended by Whoahoho
I feel like they are similar somehow. They're both hilarious and have demons and angels. Angels in Azazel, in my opinion, don't act very angel-like just like my thoughts of Gabriel and the angels. They all seem like opposites and I think if you enjoyed Gabriel DropOut, you will also enjoy Azazel-san!
report Recommended by hoBRO
Both main characters like to shut themselves in there own apartment, can't stand society, and both play games, and both anime have extremely dark humor.
report Recommended by Drock34000
If you're looking for something pretty funny, that has angels and demons in it, than either one of these two could be for you. Ackman is an one episode long OVA with some nice, dark humor and it's mostly about the title character annoying an angel, who constantly tries to kill him. And who always accidently ends up killing innocent people in his attempts to beat the main-character. Gabriel Dropout meanwhile is a full 12 episode series, that's a lot more lighter with its comedy and leans a lot more on the "Cute Girls doing Cute Things" part of the show. But it still has a group  read more
