If you enjoy watching slice of life anime about hardworking women in the entertainment industry, Shirobako is also for you. It's got less shoujo ai comedic antics but the same charm is still there. Shirobako is also a bit grittier and more honest about the hardships of how an anime gets made. The women work so hard and they love getting together and sharing their dreams.

Both are slice of life shows following a cute female cast of characters producing art. New Game! is about girls making art for video games while Comic Girls is about girls making manga. Both are great examples of the cute girls + activity subgenre of the cute girls doing cute things subgenre of slice of life, but you may like one over the other depending on if making video games or making manga is more interesting to you.

New Game! is like the triple-A game to Stella no Mahou's cruddy doujin offering.

Both animes are about making video games. Both have fun characters. Sodatekata has a bit more of a romantic element to it while New Game is just a bunch of girls chilling and having fun. Both are great, if you're into the whole game creation or things like that you'll enjoy them

Both are comedy anime in an office setting, with a cute and short girl as the main lead and are made by Doga Kobo.
report Recommended by dadnaya
Both shows have cute girls that are in a working environment which mostly focuses on the character interactions and moe part rather than the work itself. The shows are really similar but just with a different work environment.
report Recommended by DodeDagon
Both are very chill and healing with girl only casts.
report Recommended by Bronzeaf
Both shows set in a workplace and revolve around various characters and their joint interaction such building relationships and the struggle to make progress with its ensuing developement. Both are cute, cheerful and very enjoyable.

Both are related to gaming in some way. Both are lighthearted comedies with gorgeous, colorful animation and make for highly enjoyable light viewing.

Both shows are cute and focus about a group of characters who love games. New Game! is more slice of life and comedy, while Gamers is just comedy. Both casts are very lively and fun to watch. Gamers also tries to show couples with two parties that both love games, while New Game! has an all girls cast, unless you read the one manga chapter that has 1 guy (sorry for the spoiler, but it shouldn't be a big deal). The art style is cutesy in both anime. There are fun antics between the cast members in both shows.  read more

Both series have a new hire as the main character getting to know the (all-female) workplace and the relationships that are already established in it, as well as establishing relationships of her own (with clear yuri undertones). The main difference is that New Game! is in a realistic setting while Konohana Kitan is a fantasy with fox girls.

VERY SIMILAR. Focuses just on girls, with hints of yuri and fan service. Main 4 girls who are trying to do their job's under the guidance of a few mature women who are older than them and lots of hints between yuri there as well. very similar animation, and overall feel despite being no shared producers, studios or licencors.

- Group of 4 girls and their everyday life (Gabriel - School/New Game - Work) - Both have the same amount of comedy on every episode - Similar artstyle and random events related to the anime location (School/Work)
report Recommended by Leonard_Roez
Both shows are about aspiring game developers. They meet famous people who inspired them to join the industry. They try their best to become better in what they do. Both are kinda slice of life. Bokuremake has a more serious tone and more drama, while New Game! is more light-hearted, wholesome and comedic. Another difference is that the former is set in a student life, the latter is about working life. If you're interested in visual art/game development, you might be interested in these.

Both are a CGDCT SoL anime where the MC (Kotone and Aoba) first starts working in a company. At the start, Kotone and Aoba do not have much experience in their wor, but slowly and steadily getting better and better at it. It is also by the same studio (Doga Kobo)

Both are about a group of cute girls following their passion in life, whether it be fishing or creating games. Also both made by Doga Kobo, so you can expect the same level of quality in both.

Instant serotonin booster Animes that will definitely boost your mood, and in my opinion the art style and visuals seem quite similar.

Both anime are based around a bunch of kids that have extraodrinary talent. I'd suggest you watch both anime if you want a good laugh (at how bad they are or how good they are if you're into that kind of thing). Bottom-line: If you like to see kids being little Einsteins, watch it; if not, it'll be a good laugh! :)

It has this CGDCT (cute girls doing cute things) vibe. It has a cute art style and informational. Even though the episodes are shorter it's still really good. Also I don't strongly recommend the dub even though there are some of my favorites english VAs.

Both Kiniro Mosaic and New Game are based of a Slice Of Life/Comedy genre. The girls in both series are cute, they are hilarious, the many faces are full of personalities, and the characters in both shows have big ol' bug eyes. Although the story in New Game is different, it is sure to give you some vibes from Kiniro Mosaic.

Did you think Sakura Trick needed nicer art and vaguer lesbians? Well, you're in luck! Both slice-of-life comedies set in a world where men barely seem to exist, New Game! and Sakura Trick revolve around starting a new chapter in life - Yuu and Haruka start high school, and Aoba starts her first job at a video game company. Wonderfully designed characters tackle the challenges that accompany their transition, such as making new friends and adjusting to the change.

Both are heartwarming. In both animes characters put their hearts and souls into their work, everyone is working together and becoming really close like a family. Both animes show how much work is being put into their work and how ridiculously hard it is and how much we take things that were being made for us for granted.
report Recommended by Hirugiku
this anime has a "cute look" and the opening theme is very similar to that of Gakkou Gurashi

Although New game has barely anything to do with survival games ( besides Umiko who likes them) both animes are filled with cute girls and give off the same vibe. Similarities include - -Similar cute girl characters - Similar character interactions and friendships - Same slight moe vibe - Similar character antics

If you're looking for something less CGDCG, take a look at Hataraki Man. It's about a woman professional working for a magazine, and includes Kazuya Nakai of Gintama fame in a key supporting role.

For me New Game wasn't just another anime about cute girls- It was an honest story about the game industry. Each episode left me extremely motivated to get to work just like Bakuman. Both are stories about creative people working hard on the things they love!

While not a romance anime (unless you're into shipping) New Game! gave me that same happy care free feeling I got from watching Ore Monogatari!!
report Recommended by Reldawin
In both anime you can watch a main character entering the first part of being an adult by getting a job and making life choices. You see them grow and take up challenges in daily routine. Even the side characters are drawn very detailed and cute, a must-watch for every Moe lover out there.

-Both shows have mostly female characters -Both shows revolve around the girls working together (One on games, the other on ships) -Both have comedy, but New Game has more SOL while High School Fleet has more action
report Recommended by Blondie
The two series are both about younger girls entering the working life in specific branches, with all the responsibilities it entails. Even though they are educational, they still manages to be light-hearted Slice of Life series where the senpai's care about their kōhai's.
report Recommended by Teisatsu
Cute girls working in the game industry doing cute things in various situations mainly at the workplace, and sometimes elsewhere.
report Recommended by Estefan
-Both anime tell about everyday life in working world (New Game in game company and SxS in government office). -Both anime story take place in office. -Both anime have many jokes and comedies about problem in work and problem with their co-workers.

You wanna see moe girls doing moe things in a slice of life style story while the characters all have a common, set goal that will (eventually) be achieved? Watch both seasons of K-On! if you're into New Game!, the premise might be slightly different, but the structure remains the same and you're still getting mini heart attacks from the overload of cuteness.
