Both animes are about making video games.
Both have fun characters.
Sodatekata has a bit more of a romantic element to it while New Game is just a bunch of girls chilling and having fun.
Both are great, if you're into the whole game creation or things like that you'll enjoy them

Bith shows are about making games.
Newgame: focuses on on the art of the game and overall making of a game in general. w/ brief periods of friendship and comedy w/ no romance. The 2nd season also adds in a focus of art and coding as well. Plus there's a bigger focus on the game making then there is in Saenai.
Saenei: focuses on teh art and story of a game w/ long periods of romance.

Though New Game! does not focus on any romantic relationship compared to Saekano, the main cast in each of the two series are video game developers and go through the enjoyment and struggles of character design and software coding. As a side, the two series have some extra comedic scenes and may go off the main story every now and then.
Another thing, the main cast of Saekano are all high school students, while those in New Game! range from high school graduates to professionals. So expect an office workplace (formal) in New Game!, compared to an informal environment like the school or the main
