Non Non Biyori is placed in rural Japan in a tiny town and focuses on the main cast's daily lives in school and out exploring the world around them. Non Non Biyroi sets a very calm and relaxed mood similar to Flying Witch. Flying witch is a coming of age story focused on a not-so-traditional witch who is sent off by her family and explores growing up and becoming an adult. Each series is slice of life genre with added comedy. If you enjoyed the pacing and atmosphere in either show I would recommend the other.

KiKi's Delivery Service is a fantastic coming of age story that is full of whimsical fun, drama, a little romance, and enjoyment for a large audience. Flying witch takes a much more relaxed approach being slice of life with some added comedic relief. These shows focus on witches who are becoming adults and being sent off by their family to experience adulthood with their companion black cat. If you enjoyed watching Kiki's Delivery Service I would recommend trying Flying Witch to experience a similar story line and similar atmosphere in each show respectfully.

Both of these shows are very calm. They have soothing music, beautiful sceneries, and slightly quirky characters. Also, both take place in rather rural areas. Both could be classified as "healing" anime and they're perfect to watch when you just want to unwind and calm down, and the occasional (but more common in Amanchu) silly and goofy gags are sure to put a smile on your face after a long and tiring day.

Settings are different but the atmosphere same Very calm relaxing both are Slice of Life and Comedic Most of the time nothing really happens but the side characters are very unique and interesting
report Recommended by zirbat
Both series are very heartwarming and both have supernatural aspects to it. You will have a feeling about exploring the world that's different from the usual boring human world (Youkai world in Natsume Yuujinchou, Witch world in Flying Witch). If you liked one of these, I recommend that you watch the other.
report Recommended by modsoulz
Both slice of life series feature ordinary lives being altered by supernatural characters entering them in beautiful environments and with an interesting range of human and non-human characters within them. Maid Dragon goes harder on the comedy while Flying Witch tends more for an iyashikei vibe.
report Recommended by RiverSorcerer
Each series takes place in a calm enviornment and focuses on the mundane activities of its characters; Aria features elements of magical realism, while Flying Witch is outright supernatural, though never makes a big deal about it.
report Recommended by RiverSorcerer
Slice of life genre with a lot of loveable characters! Although, I do think that Flying Witch is still slightly superior to Amaama to Inazuma, if you enjoy the slice of life genre, you are for sure to enjoy both!
report Recommended by shootdatpancake
Both are lighthearted, relaxed, fun-loving shows that leave you feeling satiated. Some would make a point of calling them both Iyashikei (healing anime). Which is essentially saying both are chicken soup for the soul.

A cozy and wholesome show with strong writing and good animation for the period.
report Recommended by Mykaterasu
Chillax rural series with adorable country life titbits and small children who act like small children (they're even voiced by small children in Barakamon), and everyone else having designs that more or less fit their age. Both shows are about the someone moving into the countryside to train in their craft/trade. Barakamon is the more drama heavy of the two and has a faster pace and fittingly it's set on a sunny island in the south, whilst Flying Witch is set high up in cold, cold Aomori. Watch for warm and fuzzy countryside feelings (:

Both are slice of life anime with a carefree feel that you can't help but enjoy.
report Recommended by Marquis_D_Luffy
Both shows here deal with your every day slice of life, but with a touch of the unknown to lighten up the show. Watching Flying Witch will leave you with the same wholesome and charming effect that both of these shows manage to capture leaving you with a smile on your face as your heart gets warmed by it.
report Recommended by chieftain20
Both shows has that nice relaxing Feel Good™ atmosphere to them, that will put you in a good mood with a smile on your face :)

The animal crossing movie and Flying Witch series is similar because both animes have the storyline of a girl moving to a new town. To me both animes are like slices of life with a twist of fantasy and adventure, I personally prefer the Animal crossing movie as I am a big fan of animal crossing also I dropped flying witch towards the end but idk maybe you'll like it.
report Recommended by HardeepSean
Both are about witches and have a similar relaxing vibe. Flying witch has more slice of life elements in a modern setting. Majo no Tabitabi has more adventure elements in a fantasy/medieval setting.
report Recommended by ContradictoryCat
Magic and witches in the modern world - without battles or evil organizations, just pure everyday life enhanced by magic. Trying to grow and find happiness, and make others happy - with or without magic. That's what both series are about! Note that Flying Witch is a feel-good SOL, whereas Irozuku will tug your heartstrings. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed the overall themes of one of them, then you'll very likely enjoy the other as well.

- Both have a main character with powers, and the people around them are ok with it. - Both are calming, relaxing anime. - No big conflicts.
report Recommended by yumesan
Both anime series always eat in a cute a way, eat together with love. Flying Witch show is also steadily making me want to eat more healthy types of things lol They have similarities to the protagonist and friends around it. They're both slice of life but Flying Witch is a supernatural genre. The anime is pure, cute, calming & chill. You're in for a treat! They're both great show. Little unfocused, little short, but wonderful art direction, very chill. Aaaaaand, Flying Witch was wayyy better than Koufuku Graffiti! if you're anime type is Koufuku Grafitti, try Flying Witch. I'm sure you'll love it!

The characters give off the same vibe.

-Both anime revolves around the daily lives of someone with magical powers, though Machikado Mazoku is more moe and has a little plot on it, they still follow the same slice of plot plot where the main character who has special powers tries her best and lives a normal life. School also doesn't play a much bigger role in both animes but family and friends are.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (both the first OVA and the second, called Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Quiet Country Cafe) and Flying Witch are both healing, calming animes. Both rely on quiet character interactions and relatively small but meaningful occurrences to determine the story -- plot is not so important. The settings are different, but both pay a lot of attention to the natural world and its importance to daily life. Both shows will leave you feeling at peace, but also somewhat sad because you know they have to end.

Flying Witch and Engaged to the Unidentified are bright and uplifting anime with cheerful and fun openings. I love that they both have fantastical societies that most people are unaware of, and being able to get a peak into what society could be like with these changes. They also have endearing and quirky characters which I don't want to say goodbye to when the series ends.

More flying witches in a really nice setting even if includes war.
report Recommended by Flajavin
Another flying witch, nice magic but no wars this time. A much more quiet and relaxed atmosphere all around.
report Recommended by Flajavin
Both are basically Shoujo Animes focusing on the daily lives of girls who are a bit socially awkward.Senryu shoujo follows a girl who communicates just by writing 5-7-5 haikus and flying witch,as the name suggest follows a young witch who has travelled countryside to her relatives for high school,
report Recommended by PNR_13
Both are a perfect mix of slice of life and supernatural hi-jinx, with well defined & likeable characters brought to life with beautiful and clean animation designs . Both are slower paced slice of life comedies, with the chief difference being Ah! My Goddess leans more into romance, where Flying Witch is more comedic drama.
report Recommended by MKSTEEL
Heartwarming shows about very weird professions (witchcraft and voice healing) and about some training the main characters receive in order to adhere there. They also cover daily happy life and friendships. They're both funny, original, and of good quality. Good times, good vibes.
report Recommended by EdgyEcchiSenpai
If you're looking for a fun series with a unique take on magic powers and a focus on the greatness of family and friendship, both of these have you covered. Yoyo and Nene have a lot more action than the laid-back Flying Witch, but both share a soft brand of comedy and gorgeous artwork throughout.
report Recommended by whoisashleigh
Both anime are chill anime that are pleasant to watch. They deal with supernatural thing and talk about countryside of Japan. And both anime give you a smile while watching it. Two great anime to watch and relax !
report Recommended by MSTMC
Both series are pretty relaxing SoL with some additional slight supernatural elements
report Recommended by Teacommander
Both iyashikei, gentle palette, calm episodes focused on highlighting the magic and warmth of everyday interactions
report Recommended by randomrutabaga
Easy-going, soft feeling, slice of life anime for both of them. Rather than focusing on all the plots, twist and turns in a lot of stories these days, these two focus on a more straight forward everyday stories in a relaxing tone.
report Recommended by leonkaung105
Flying Witch is about a girl, a witch live in town with her relative. This anime shows about her life after moving to the town with her relative. there's some magic stuff on the show and it's perfect if you want relaxing anime like Tsurezure Children. mind you there's no romance. but it's cute and cure your mind. This show is a slice of life with some witchcraft on it. all episodes will make you relax and refresh your mind. the animation is very smooth and very nicely done. perfect for all ages!
report Recommended by Shafwan_Dito
Both are relaxing anime with a similar approach into magic and witchcraft. If you want a slice of life, yet with a touch of mysticim, I recommend both.
report Recommended by gustken
Both kinda has the same chill vibe of slice of life. They are both something to sit back and relax on after a long day. Would recommend both if you have watched one of them.
report Recommended by octAY
This two shows have a pretty cool similarity, that i'd recommend you to watch if you like one of them. Flying Witch and Mahoutsukai Precure!? both retain the slice of life element were they both have tried to keep their witch powers hidden from others. Both openings are lovable if you watch it long enough that is. Although Flying Witch does not have a evil encounter like Mahoutsukai Precure!? does they both are pretty enjoyable if your the type that watches animes with little to no romance and shounen action this is the show for you.
report Recommended by Miki_04
Very relaxed atmosphere as main character is getting accustomed her new enviroment.
report Recommended by SirHonas
lifestyle of supernatural beings they make it look like is normal
report Recommended by flancita-chan
Both are slow-paced, slice of life with adorable, warm characters. Himouto! Umaru-chan is more of a comedy than flying witch. Both involves the theme of growing up and has a good sibling relationships.
report Recommended by amaliachan
The moment I saw the main female character I got Sankarea in mind, its very similar in drawing, personality and talking style, note both animes have completly different plot, sankarea consists in a zombie fanatic who wants to have a undead girlfriend and Flying Witch is a slice of life with a witch as the main character. Although the differences I think if you liked Flying Witch and like zombies you will like Sankarea.
report Recommended by Guiaki
Both anime are very calm, peaceful and are full of comedy. Both have a hint of magic/supernatural. In Fruits Basket, the supernatural is more of a main idea, while in Flying Witch it isn't necessarily the center of the story. Also, Fruits Basket has more romance to it, although it isn't followed through. Just a sprinkle of it.
report Recommended by Maxwell175
The same cozy, fantasy atmosphere. Both in the Iyashikei style, with a very pleasant, slow pace in the way they tell the story. Both take place in a rural Japanese environment where magic and beings from Japanese folklore are normal.
report Recommended by KinomotoQ
Featuring witches as their protagonists, both series emphasize the slow life aspects and surrounding families of their characters, even though Flying Witch's iyashikei and Slime Taoshite's OP reincarnation isekai provide contrasting tones.
report Recommended by RiverSorcerer
Both series have very laid-back iyashikei atmospheres and focus on the ways that the fantastical intersects with the everyday.
report Recommended by RiverSorcerer
(Personally) Both of these shows fall under this healing category. Both main characters are a little dense, but they're both shows you can just watch to relax after a long day without worrying too much about the plot. No hard topics seem to be covered in either of the shows so you can really just watch the characters go about their day, make friends, interact with pets etc.
report Recommended by spacewannabe
Both are slow paced, based in the countryside, relaxing to watch, not overly dramatic, putting a smile on your face.
report Recommended by appleabc
Elements of magic. Easy going home life depicted that warms the soul. It isnt similar in that the main characters in Flying Witch aren't necessarily coming from a rough background. But the main character is going to stay at a relative's place, finding shelter on her journey. How it's mainly similar is how the elements of magic and spirits of nature are presented in a matter of fact & realistic form. ALso; flying witch has a clean cut, yet intuitive and high quality plot episode to episode, similar to the well told story of Mayoiga
report Recommended by mega_prize
Both series take a slice of life approach to the supernatural, taking an everyday approach to the fantastical, although Demi-chan is more outwardly comedic in its tone while Flying Witch is slowcore iyashikei.
report Recommended by RiverSorcerer
If you are looking for the daily life of different people in a fantasy world then you will like any of those two anime. The difference between the two is that Hakumei to Mikochi presents a entirely new world, while Flying Witch only incorporates magic, and other fantasy elements, into our world.
report Recommended by JokerDBlue
The anime are slice of life in modern day Japan where mages are seemingly accepted (more so in Mahou Tsukai, since many people don't know about magic in FW). The main character is a girl that can do magic. Mahou no Tsukai takes it in another direction with the MC getting schooled on how to use magic, while in FW the main character seems to do magic all on her own. The imagery in both anime is very nice to look at and the mood is calm.
report Recommended by crumblebread
Both focus on the topic of witch craft with a bunch of humour thrown in as well.
report Recommended by symbiotic
Well, to state the obvious, both shows involve witches. These are supernatural-themed animes with plenty of comedic reliefs produced by the same studio – JC Staff. Story-wise though, the shows are quite different. In WCW, the focus is on the fight between the good and bad witches over the possession of the male MC’s power. Whereas in Flying Witch, the focus is on the life of the female MC who moves out of home to the country to become independent by witches’ standards.
report Recommended by ALLONA
Both series feature a young magic user becoming an apprentice, learning to be independent, and growing as a person. Both have a relaxing feel with characters that warm your heart.
report Recommended by SAniyoukoso
Both are supernatural slice-of-lifes set in the country. They are slow-paced and have some comedy every now and then. Personally I find Flying Witch more engaging, and I like the characters more. Mokke has darker elements to it, and the tone is less happy and carefree. If you're looking for an anime similar to Flying Witch but more serious, Mokke may interest you.
report Recommended by ccorn
Both shows keep a very mild and relaxing tone, occasionally making jokes and misunderstandings. If you liked how calm Flying Witches was you should definitely check out Minami-ke.
report Recommended by ExTemplar
Both are slice of life. They are pleasant to watch, where not much goes on, but it still makes you happy to watch it.
report Recommended by jopofosho
Both have to do with magic and with someone leaving their home and making another home somewhere else. The music for both is very calming and they have the same kind of lighthearted atmospheres. Anyone that likes one will definitely enjoy the other.

Both these shows have a similar countryside atmosphere and are very relaxing to watch

Both are slow-paced slice of life glorifying Nature that include beautiful magic phenomena and likeable -but not so developed- characters.
