Flying Witch

Both shows take place in the rural countryside, and place the setting at the forefront. They are incredibly cozy and relaxing slice of life shows that feature a small but defined cast of characters. If you are a fan of calm places, slow pacing, some of the most relaxing music in anime, and something to unwind to, then either of these are great picks. 

Great gentle BGM/OST, countryside setting and a nice slow pace with characters that fit their age well too. 

Slow paced shows that take place in rural Japan. Both are considered Iyashikei or "healing" anime. Very soothing to watch. No real plot, just showcasing a slow paced, simple, rural life in Japan. 

Both shows feature a main character that moves to the countryside and follows their lives adjusting to a new setting. Both have quirky random humor and are easy-going slice of lifes. Only difference is in Flying Witch the main character is a witch, whereas in Non Non Biyori there is no magic.  

The setting and relaxing atmosphere are main similarities between these shows. They also have similar episodic nature, with heavy emphasis on slice of life elements.

Both Non Non Biyori and Flying Witch are set in a rural place with the main character (Makoto Kowata in FW, Hotaru Ichijou in NNB) moving there from a city. Both are calm and soothing SoL anime that one can enjoy any time they want. The two differences are that a) in Non Non Biyori, the main cast consists of four girls of varying ages (and one guy without a voice, lol) while in Flying Witch, there's Makoto and two of her relatives, one male, one a young girl plus one other character per episode and b) Non Non Biyori is purely SoL while Flying Witch brings some Supernatural elements into the mix (as one MIGHT guess from the title) read more 

The countryside as a central setting of a story is often overlooked and underutilized; fortunately, both of these shows do some much needed justice in that regard. In both shows, you have a main character moving into the countryside and learning the "ways of the countryside", so to speak. The only main difference is that Non Non Biyori is much more humorous; Flying Witch incorporates a slow yet relaxing pace that is sure to calm any person after a long day of work. 

Chill, iyashikei genre they both located at countryside I dont know but the feeling when i watch these 2 anime are really similar 

Also set in the countryside. Both are very tranquil and relaxing shows that don't follow any overarching plot. 

Funny country life, no weird scenes only to show boobs or other childish jokes. Characters are nice and believable. 

-Both are set in the rural countrysides of Japan, and each have exceptional detailing that brings out the beauty of the set -Both are Iyashikei (Healing), and will almost definitely put your mind at ease. -No set storyline exists.... The plot mostly revolves around everyday incidents 

-Both series are very heartwarming -Great Visual -Similiar set living in country side -Very relaxing to watch 

If you are looking for another calm anime, to disconnect and relax, in which the plot does not matter, but rather you seek to see the stories and situations that happens through the different chapters, NNB and FW are pretty good options. You will enjoy watching the animation, which is quite good, the dialogues and interactions between the characters (they also speak slowly enough to even practice a little Japanese hehe) and, in general, a calm atmosphere. 

Iyashikei slice of life anime where the main character moves from the city to the countryside. They are both set in small towns and have relaxing music and well drawn backgrounds.  

Flying Witch is the high school TV-series equivalent of Kiki's Delivery Service. Likewise, Kiki's Delivery Service is a pre-teen film equivalent of Flying Witch. Both start with the similar premises of young witches leaving home to start their independent life far away from their family. Adorably cute slice of life shows with a similar atmosphere and a hint of magic. 

Both shows are a coming age story revolving around witches. General premise is that in both stories, a young witch sets out on her own to finish their training and become a fully fledged witch. Oh yeah, and they both have black cat familiars. Flying Witch has a slightly more relaxed and comedic atmosphere than Kiki's Delivery Service, but both are great watches non-the-less.  

Both are pretty chill story about a "young" witch girl in a normal city. 

Both feature a young witch who moves to another town as a rite of passage. Both contain typical witch elements such as a flying broom and a black cat and both have a very relaxed peaceful atmosphere. 

If you're into anime/movie that's got adorable and sweet witches and a good plot like Majo no Takkyuubin (Kiki's Delivery Service), then Flying Witch is definitely for you. And the MCs of both anime have similarities, e.g. Kiki = Makoto, Jiji = Chito, etc. 

These two shows are about witches in training living a somewhat normal life with a bit of magic. They portrait traditional witches in a very simple but almost realistic way. One could say Flying Witch is like a modern version of Kiki's Delivery Service. They are very peaceful and perfect if you're interested in classic witches and magic. Would even recommend these two for people not fond of the Magic genre like me, because I enjoyed both. 

The principles of witches in both animes are very similar. In both animes the witches travel out to different cities to find a city with no witch and become that city's witch. Both animes also have a very simple story lines which may appeal to both viewers in my opinion. 

Both series are about a girl moving to a new town to further study magic and find their place in society. Both the film and series, follow Kiki and Makoto as they interact with the denizens of their new town, though Kiki's story is fundamentally a coming of age story while Flying Witch focuses on creating that soothing iyashikei atmosphere. Both are slice of life series with a down to earth magical system.  

Both MC are witches. Both shows have strong female characters. Kiki Delivery Service is a masterpiece by Miyazaki (Ghibli Studio) so animation an design is far higher, nevertheless Flying Witch deserves a watch if you liked Kiki 

Both are witches and both are calming, Iyashikei animes. Highly recommend enjoying both! 

Witches that can fly and are young, sweet and kind. Both have a laid-back easy going feel to them. They start with the witches being required to leave home at a young age and begin establishing themselves in the world. find their own way to the life they wish and need to live. The two girls have very similar sweet dispositions. Neither one is over-powered but rather each has a few unique skills that help them find their way. 

Similar to Kiki's Delivery Service, Flying Witch is a heartwarming anime with magical elements and slice-of-life storytelling. It follows a young witch named Makoto who moves to the countryside to live with her cousins and continue her magical training. Like Kiki, Makoto must balance her magical abilities with the challenges of everyday life, and the series is full of heartwarming moments and delightful characters. 

Both made by J.C Staff, 'Amanchu!' and 'Flying Witch' both have the same overarching lighthearted feel. The 'Slice of Life' genre is explored in both and each of the main characters move to a more rural setting, where they meet new people. The art style is comparable in both: highly detailed, brightly coloured landscapes and similar character designs. The main differences lie in the two locations: the seaside in 'Amanchu!' and rural Japan in 'Flying Witch'. The former focuses on diving while the latter combines the supernatural with reality. 

Both give a similar "relax and smile" vibe. Special to begin the day with a calm mind, escorted by great and relaxing music on these pure Slice of Life calmness. Away from the city's dizziness and acoustic pollution. Amanchu! is located on the coast while Flying Witch is on the countryside. Amanchu! is bit more cartoonish. 

If you liked the calm atmosphere and the soundtrack of Amanchu, I recommend you see flying witch, both are from the same producer studio and have good animation quality. 

ZZZzzzz.......Zzzzzzz.....ZZzz.....OH! Sorry! I kinda fell asleep there! Both these titles are just so relaxing! Do you want to relax too? Then you gotta give both these titles a try! --- Flying witch is well about a flying witch! Sounds exciting right?! NO! It's slice of life! It's about a witch. Living a mundane life. I bet it doesn't sound exciting......but i bet it sounds a bit interesting no? There is not a lot of magic here, but there's is a lot of normal mundane activities! --- Amanchu! Don't let the exclamation in the title fool you! It revolves around the female lead exploring her first experiences of scuba diving. Nothing serious! You can put your brains on autopilot and watch this. It also noteworthy to mention how clean the animation is, the use of colors are almost pastel like, it's even soothing to look at.  read more 

If you're looking for a soothing iyashikei series about the small wonders of life, look no further than Amanchu! Amanchu! like Flying witch, follows some a young girl moving to a new town and coming to terms with life in this environment. Despite her anxieties, she gradually comes out of her shell and learns to appreciate her new life, through the friends she makes. 

Amanchu! is a very laid-back, heartwarming, and sweet show. It is one of the only shows I've watched that gave me the same feeling I got when I first watched Flying Witch. 

Althought the settings of these two anime are completly different - listless boy / lively girl (witch) both of them are hitting the same relaxing spot. They are those rare iyashikei anime where nothing really happens but just watching it smooths your heart. Not to mention art is awesome in both of them. 

Anime that both fully embody the idea of "Slice of Life" at it's core. Very calm, relaxing atmosphere 80% of the time, and the other 20% is pretty much guaranteed to be filled with great humor or touching moments. Especially when it comes to the humor, both these shows have a great sense of comedic timing, not being afraid to have some extra long pauses to really emphasis a joke to it's full extent.  

-Both are relaxing and calm anime where really nothing happens -Because of this, they have a unique type of comedic appeal that won't appeal to most people -The standout of these shows is definitely the quirky characters 

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge and Flying Witch are anime that is a must watch if you want to relax or is tired from watching too much actions or such.These anime are incredibly nice to watch, nothing overwhelming, but nice enough for anyone to be hooked in. 

Both shows are focused on slice of life, the artwork, pacing, soundtracks, and even the gags are very relaxing. There may not be much difference except for the fact that Flying Witch has a supernatural tag. 

Both anime are calming and relaxed. Rather then having some taking you on a life changing journey these anime just take you on a brief but nice stroll.  

-Both share the Slice of Life and Supernatural genre with Comedy elements -Both set in rural Japan -Both involving supernatural creatures and spirits -Natsume Yuujinchou is more Drama focused whereas Flying Witch's focus is Comedy Overall if you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other as well. 

Now I really don't know why flying witch has such a low rating, but I'll try to be objective here. The Natsume Yuujinchou franchise is something that is held in a very high regard in the anime community and Flying Witch has similar aspects to it. They have got similar art styles and the same relaxing feel to it. Both shows have supernatural aspects to them that shows different characteristics that appear in each. If you liked the Natsume Yuujinchou series (which you should) then you should definitely give Flying Witch a try. 

- A laid back series about teenagers with a foot in the Supernatural world who come to live with distant relatives in a rural community. 

Just like Natsume Yuujinchou, Flying Witch is very heartwarming and involves magic too. A slice of life and comedy anime, involving lovable magical characters.  

Both anime deal with supernatural and furthermore both anime are in the countryside of Japan. I recommand those anime because they are making me relax and feel the same way ! 

While Flying Witch is less gag-heavy and contains no fanservice, both shows contain fantasy elements, a mostly female cast, emphasize the importance of family, and are overall very easy and fun to watch. 

Both are fun to watch and have fantasy elements. 

Both shows are somewhat similar in terms of Slice of Life and fantasy elements. Both shows have a "cosy" vibe to them in which the main character goes through their everyday lives. Though Kobayashi has a heavier fantasy feel to it (think Dragons) and Flying Witch feels more of a Slice of Life show. Comedy in both are also pretty light but funny nonetheless. 

both are fun and have the same style, working very well within the genre. 

Same light-hearted feeling - relaxing to watch and offers great chuckles. 

Both have 'soft' looking art, no drama, and great looking food. All the characters are unique and funny, and both can be binged all in one go, or picked up whenever you feel like it.  

Both are light, fluffy, and never fails to put a smile on your face (or tears in your eyes). Nothing really "exciting" happens but sometimes that's not always a bad thing. Also they both revolve around family. 

At the core of these shows is relaxing atmosphere. They relay on presenting someone mundane activities with touch of supernatural. These shows follow mostly episodic structure, although Aria has somewhat more noticeable structure and goal.

Both Flying Witch and Aria (including The Animation, The Origination, etc.) are very calm and relaxing shows. The settings are very different but both series are about teenage girls starting out on new paths in life, and each show focuses on the small but memorable moments that make each day magical. Plus both shows have cats as important characters! 

Both series belong to the iyashikei genre, in that both provide the audience with a soothing, relaxed feeling upon viewing. This is bolstered by the use of natural environments set away from the bustling cities, chill soundtracks that utilize acoustic instruments, and light-hearted humor from the (moe) characters. I enjoy both series for the feelings they invoke in me while viewing, so like-minded viewers may feel the same way 

Both are Slice of Life shows with a relaxing, laid-back vibe. Yuru Camp is a group of cute girls camping and basically doing just that. Flying Witch is about a witch doing ordinary things that the average person would do every day, except for that part that she's a witch doing magic and flying around town on a broomstick, of course. Both shows have a beautiful background setting and a nice soundtrack that makes the viewer feel immersed in the show. 

At the start of both shows, main characters arrive into rural environment where they spend their time. These shows focus on relaxing atmosphere and life in these rural parts of japan. Main difference between these shows is the fact that Flying Witch has some supernatural elements while Barakamon doesn't. 

Two of the most chill anime out there Barakamon revolves around calligrapher named Handa Sei and how he spends time on an island to get inspiration for calligraphy. Flying witch is about a young witch named Makoto who transfers to her cousin's high school where she spends days just living her 'normal' life.  

Kamichu is similar to Flying Witch in the fact that both the main characters are high school girls and have supernatural abilities. In Kamichu the main character suddenly becomes a God, while in Flying Witch the main character is a witch. 

Kamichu! and Flying Witch both offer a very relaxed countryside or small town experience of the supernatural element (Shintoism or magic respectively) permeating the every day life of a small group of characters. This can lead to some comedic moments but is also played straight most of the times in order to advance in the episode. Each episode is also a self contained story although Kamichu! does have an underlying thread tying things together that feels a lot more obvious than the one in Flying Witch. If you're in the need for something to wind down, give either a try. I don't think it will be a disappointing experience. read more 

Both series are heavy in the "feel good and relaxed, with an innocent smile" side of SoL's. Also, they share the element of magical/mythical beings and the supernatural as a normal thing for their main characters. 

If someone ever moves into a new town for the first time, then both of these could be of interest to them. Especially since they're both anime, that deal with a girl main-character moving into a new town, having a more relaxed Slice-of-Life tone and being more coming of age stories. Flying Witch, as the name implies, is a series about a witch moving to the country to her family, to learn more about becoming a good witch. Each episode has it's own stories that range from fantastic to mundane and it never really gets dramatic or anything like that. Making it just a fun watch about a girl in the countryside with some magical elements. Animal Crossing meanwhile is a movie and just like the game it's based on, it follows a human girl living in a town filled with animals. It's a bit more childish in tone, but also has a bit more adventure and drama in it, plus much stronger coming of age themes as well as themes of following your dreams. Plus, it uses a lot of music, characters and places from the game. read more 

Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara and Flying Witch both share deliciously soft magic. What do I mean by soft magic? Soft magic is the kind that heals you, helps you make friends, and increases your capacity for experiencing the beauty of this world; all the uses of soft magic are aligned with our deeper desires for happiness as human beings instead of being more practically useful. If you love magic that is truly and art and flavors the world instead of a science that bends the world, these shows are both for you. 

To be blunt, in my opinion, Flying Witch is a sort of mediocre Slice of Life anime and doesn't at all compete with K-On!'s great execution and consistency of interest. However, they show a lot of the same general aspect of humor, art style, and in some ways; character design. If you love Yui Hirasawa. you might like Flying Witch. 

Although stories are quite different they both have the same tranquility. Flying witch is funnier than Isekai Shokudou but both of them will put a feel-good smile on your face. 

A Ditsy main character that attends high school; they have supernatural powers which no one finds strange and just accepts, which later becomes part of their everyday lives.
