Praise Nisio for rewarding Zenkichi
So we are all manga characters where is my power up arc dammit!!!!
lol
Anyways great second to last page
now to wait
for the next arc wonder what Zenkichi will face
For people who don't understand the manga is not over this arc just ended and a new story is to be introduced next week, the author just Trolled the ending like a boss, but just so no one is confused the series is still ongoing...
Nice chapter, I tought it would be the last chapter but Nisio Isin trolled all us..
After all the arc Zenkichi finally conquer what he wanted!!!
I want to what the next arc will be about....
I think we misunderstood what she meant by "end the manga before the anime",I think she really meant "end the ARC on the same week the anime starts (please remember that scanlations get the WSJ chapters the week before the official release in Japan)"Or we actually got trolled,I don't care either way.
About the color page,I not the only one that noticed Anshin'in 4th wall-breaking about Medaka being in color, right?
Both Anshin'in & Medaka was right.Medaka was right when saying Anshin'in was one of them & Anshin'in was right when saying they were all fictional manga characters.
I say this arc is also a good place to stop if the anime adapts up to this point.Unlike every other arc so far,it doesn't end with an obvious "Something is gonna happen".Now,I wonder what the new arc will bring us.
Im glad its continueing but in a way this chapter was a perfect ending for the series so in a way its like he both trolled and told the truth. If the next arc starts up Ill probably only be able to see it as a sequel and not the same manga. change its name to zenkichi box and tada new manga sequel.
I gladly accept being trolled. Well played Nisio..well played..
You the man Zenkichi >.<

^^ This
That kiss made this whole manga worth it.
Wonder how they will continue after this though. Hopefully they dont do a time skip like every other manga does for some reason. I dont see it happening but you never know.

Is Medaka really going to change every single antagonist that walks into this series? What the fuck.
I wonder how many of the posters above actually understand what 'trolling' means. Just ignore it.
As for the last part, yeah, that seems to be the idea. Zenkichi and his devil style might mess it up a bit, but don't hold your breath.
Hmm... Should I drop this now, or wait yet another arc in hope for it to end by itself? It really could have ended right here, but I guess the suits won't let a manga just getting an anime end like that.
But one of the most unique endings I've seen for a manga, rofl (well technically it's an ending to an arc but it could still be considered an ending). To create a character that BELIEVES the world she's in is a manga and saying the manga is ending is RIDICULOUS for a story set in manga.
Incredibly ridiculous. And I believe I've said the word manga 4 times in the above sentences. Ridiculous.
But man, life is epic. Hahahha. Holyshit, I almost saw a TTGL reference there.
And that kiss was awesome. :D
I think the best way to go about it is start a mini story next to uncover some grounds like what happened between Medaka and her dad or something. That's like the only thing left unexplained. I don't believe he will continue with this manga tho, even if they said "ending averted". I mean, they're just characters in a fictional setting, guys. Lol.
Ehh...? WUT. Bwahahahahaha, what! Just got trolled. so. hard! Wow, I did not see that coming. Ajimu living that long was surprising but then the whole, "I'm gonna kill myself now because life is boring" was also random. Wow. Dafuq.
Fourth wall, why you so brittle?
And FINALLY at that last panel.
So, I honestly have no idea what can possibly happen now. The "last boss" just happened to be emo about life being boring and wanted to a hero herself, but she gets saved. Maybe the next arc will be about the other Not Equal?
Okay, I'm coming back here, to see what people had to say about one of the best chapters in the series and everybody is all over the kiss, the weakest part of it? Weird. For me it's definitely about Ajimu's motives - I'm 95% certain it's the first and only villain with that sort of motive ever created. And it's awesome!
So Ajimu now stops being the incarnation of the author in his own manga and becomes a character, at the same time the 4th wall is kind of being restored.
Lol when Medaka was saying you about how Aijimu thought the world as a manga. I was like "But she' right! you are in a bloody manga."
I have to wonder though why did Aijimu thought that she can to anything about confirming what that world is. If it was a manga then even her auctions will be dictated by the author. Wait..... she didn't thought because she still is just a manga character, oh shit, this ain't good fo my brain.
Anyway at least the whole fight between Medaka and Zenkichi ended in a nice way instead of a battle way liked i thought in the start and the way he settled things was very good than actually fighting her. Is good that he found self-realization about his feelings and didn't make their clash a pointless fighting tournament.
He also helped Medaka-chan start living for herself.
Omfg that was the best chapter ever or at least at this point!
Every page was great, the "breaking the 4th wall" was so awesome, and ... omfg now kiss. ♥
Lol, of course people should of seen this coming from miles away tbh. It's Nisio we're talking about here, the same guy behind the Monogatari series and this. Well, I did expect that kiss and Medaka-chan falling for him.
So anshin created the flask plan to fail so that she could prove the impossible impossible to bring her back to reality but at the same time she made the impossible possible by defeating Medaka . . ?
So, thus ends the Kurokami Successor Arc, an arc that I have mixed feelings about to say the least. I suppose it's easier to just begin at the beginning (spoiler tagged most of it because I drone on a lot) . . .
The treasure hunt! Well, there was the set-up prior to the treasure hunt, including some awesome Kumagawa moments but that's all there really was to them. It wasn't particularly engaging, delivered a few laughs courtesy of Kumagawa but was mostly used to set-up stuff, which it did fine. The treasure hunt as a whole was probably the strongest portion of this arc. There are brighter spots in the arc but it wasn't nearly as consistent in quality here.
Much like the rest of the series, the battles during this portion (& the entirety of this arc really) were rarely ever fisticuffs, only really Akune & Wanizuka, which shared emphasis on the characters. It's something I appreciate about Medaka Box, they don't really indulge in just regular battles. Anyway, some of them were pretty weak, outside of Kumagawa I really didn't care for that imagination one. My favorite, and this goes for the whole arc, was the "Vote for the one you most hate" battle, which brings me to the strongest part of the Treasure Hunt, the development of Akune. He's probably my third favorite character in the series at the moment & that's all because of his development here.
I suppose I should talk about the five new girls . . . outside of Wanizuka & the robot girl (who's name I don't remember), none of them really mattered or had any character development outside of the generic "become allies of Medaka" that everyone in this series go through (except maybe Shiranui). In fact, Wanizuka is pretty much the only one I can name but she also exhibits one of the worst parts of this arc.
Which is the utterly pointless reveal that she's Munakata's sister. It literally contributed nothing to the story. You could completely remove that without it affecting the story at all. Anyway, after the treasure hunt things started getting pretty bad, with occasional moments of greatness, such as Zenkichi's chapter where he realizes he loves Medaka (or the extent of it). Outside of just a feeling a disjointedness throughout the rest of the arc, I also really had trouble buying into Medaka's development. The seeds were present but I guess they didn't really bloom naturally? I guess I wish that that side of her personality would've transpired less suddenly because Zenkichi was acting like a whiny bitch. I loved her development during the Minus arc but here it wasn't very good or convincing, feeling more like a necessary evil than natural progression.
The story was unpredictable at times, yes but that doesn't translate into good writing. I never anticipated that near the closing events we'd be focusing on a band battle using a character from Good Loser Kumagawa but there wasn't an ounce of enjoyment to really be had within those chapters. Bloody 7 was also pretty boring but that at least had creativity in it & I really enjoyed how Kumagawa messed with the rules. However the real problem with this arc is the humor wasn't all there& even tiring at points. Kamome was pretty funny at first but the joke got old. I'm starting to realize how long I've gone on about this, so I'm going to stop & spoiler tag this.
As for Ajimu Najimi, she was pretty awesome. She's one of the few characters who's humor is derived around breaking the fourth wall that is actually funny (I typically hate fourth wall humor). A lot of it is how it's presented, which is more of a character trait than anything else. It was no surprise to learn that she legitimately believes she's in a manga when the case, at least in-series, is that she isn't (side note, her saying the Kurokami Phantom looked good in color during the color page was awesome). Her character motivation of trying to prove that the impossible is really impossible is interesting and something I definitely like.
I'm with eworm, the best part of this chapter was Ajimu's motives were definitely the highlight here. I also kinda like the kiss, mostly because I like Zenkichi. Medaka finally lost me this arc, which as a whole, I'm thinking is probably a 6/10? Maybe a 5/10, perhaps but probably not a 7/10. I don't know, it's no Minus Arc, that's for sure.
