| Wow, my eyes and brain hurt from reading an utterly shitty sub such as the Crunchyroll's one. In terms of timing, translation and quality control, this episode was one of the worth things I've ever seen. I don't really understand the point of CR broadcasting shows legally but displaying translation work at below-amateur level (I mean, 95% of English fansub teams are better than that, let alone Static Subs which has done, and still does a fantastic job on this series). Coming back to the episode in itself, it was slow but good and the mating dance was indeed great :) |

| Glad I waited for SS. Beautiful episode. Though the cg bit with the universe and the baby was a little overboard, I really thought the pace and direction was great. I am quite taken aback that no one thought it was a mating thing with Lilan smelling the feather, carrying it around, and changing color. |
| Haha yeah, the CG universe thing was a bit overboard. It wasn't really a surprise anyway with Lilan changing colour and all that, don't know why they didn't think of that. Probably because mating hasn't been documented nor witnessed before. |

| I knew the episode was going to be good when we didn't get the OP. Poor Beast-Lord though. He was separated from his child, and got hurt and captured himself. I don't see why they keep capturing Beast-Lords when they can't even get close to them without using the mute whistle. It's heartless, and it seems pointless. Esal did the right thing asking Erin to take care of Eku though, she's getting better and better at communicating with the Beast-Lords, and she was able to help him. I'm impressed at the strength of those wooden cages though, I know it was hurt, but even so a wild, and fully grown Beast-Lord wasn't able to break it. I'm also glad Erin decided to share her worries with Esal, and told her the history behind the country. It's also funny the way the mist folk disappear in the mist, I mean, it's not like they can teleport, at least I think that they can't, so I can only imagine them running to the nearest bush so they can hide. lol Anyways, Erin is on point! The beasts aren't at fault, and they shouldn't be punished with so many codes and restrictions, being raised like that. The humans should be the ones to have control over themselves, but I guess that's too much to hope for. And of course Tomura wouldn't lose the opportunity to compliment Erin, but it's refreshing to see her being complimented instead of repressed. But Beast-Lords are truly majestic, to think that even their mating ritual would be a sight to behold, I never thought they would conceive life while flying, and shining! This is their nature, and the way how they should be! |

Like catastrophe happened when people in the past were controlling the animals, creating a power dynamic, but the way Erin is approaching animals, she's focusing more on COMMUNICATING not CONTROLLING so going for a “live peacefully together” instead of a “live peacefully bc we can control them” kind of way (I mean in a way she does have a power dynamic but they're closer equals her way).And boy did she SPILL THE TEA whe she was like “I think it's humans who've gotta watch their OWN actions instead of keeping the animals in constant check” like pREACH SIS |

| I loved Erin confiding with Esal about her concerns about communicating with beast-lords, as well as the country's secret history she learned from Nason. I'm glad that the show's capable of having its characters discuss important issues and not keep them secret for the sake of drama. In this case, it pulls Esal closer to the overall drama, which I feel is much more interesting. Erin now has Esal to communicate her thoughts and fears about beast-lords, as well as her family lineage and how it links to the country's potential fate. The visual representation of beast-lords mating was kind of strange, but it's not the first time I've seen mating represented through abstract imagery in fiction. Doesn't stop it from being strange though. |

| I was too engaged in the episode to write while I was watching, but I figured Lilan and Eku would get along when Lilan found the feather. I also kind of had a feeling that Lilan's fur changing was a sign of being in heat, but wasn't super sure. The instant full pink is kinda weird though. Should be interesting to see where we go from here. I really hope Lilan doesn't drift away from Erin to focus on her own child... |
