I haven't watched the gaidens yet and I'm reading the novels. Thinking of reading, watching the gaidens, and then
ending it with Die Neue These. Tbh I'm not sure if that's the best way but I'm going to enjoy it ...
YES. YES. YES!!!

It is quite refreshing to see someone, who does not imply that all of a state is evil, just because a state doesn't act fully at western standards.
it has same old adventures, art didn't change in the slight lest, music from past shows is there... idk if that is a good thing, i guess it's perfect for fans.
oh yeah, i feel the same thing, anime finally gets down to marketing instead of art fully! ...even younger audiences don't feel it so engaging to watch anime these days, it's not as charming anymore i guess...
and i definitely put "weathering with you" and "summer wars" in the same level of mediocrity oof. checking my list for newer releases i found only really low scores xD i will not bother with the new format that is 12 episodes per season D: but what bout the City Hunter movie? Do you feel a little biased with it or it goes to the trash hole with the others? lol
oh wow, seem like you had fun there but it indeed feels like a waste of money imo (and energy since you have to re sell for little money in places like "book off" for reasons you already specified), to buy merch, videogames are more toxic with these strategies and makes you buy unlimited shit.... next step your house is crammed with them! xD i would keep some blu rays that i can get some subs online.. because i like animation more than manga and others.
I was hoping to find someone with japanese exp that didn't rely on english sub anymore to see how it feels like because i plan to do so in a near future but i guess it wasn't your case, sorry xD Even my mother language is not english as well. I guess it's kinda difficult to grasp any sense in japanese with the Anime pace but more easy with manga because it gives you more time to read and process what is going on xD
Also i saw you already have like 1,168 anime on your watched list and i think it's a good quantity to stop at some point :) it's not like you missed much from the past... being the japanese entertainment so vast and rich in variety like animes, mangas or novels, videogames, battle cards, board games and tons of collectibles... you know, it always gives you something to do xD
i was wondering if you attended some retro stores or arcades or conventions maybe but alas :/ Or maybe you weren't in Tokyo at that time... and that means less stuff to do like those themed bars (kaijuu sakaba) or crazy museums. or maybe you purchased some Laserdisc movies for your collection? How about maybe gone the Yodobashi store in Akihabara? ...sorry if it's a bit rude to ask you for a personal anecdote but i didn't found anybody on this site to vent xD just wanted to know..
J'aimerais savoir comment peux-tu noter un anime dès ses 2 premiers épisodes :) ?
