Notes :
-I don't give a lot of truly low scores because I consider that as long as the staff put passion, love and work in the show (which is something pretty easy to notice), that means said work is worthy of some respect, even if there has been a failure in the process.
-I don't rate experimental OVAs with the same system
-I don't judge shows based on the same criterias depending on the genre and what it attempted to do
-Characters, consistency and direction/art direction are the most important aspects to me, but not the only ones
-Since I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to emotional stuff, a show that managed to bring me to tears will most likely receive a high rating no matter what since it means it managed to make an impact on me and make me care about the characters
-A good score in my book ranges from 6 to above, 5 is literally average, anything below is something I didn't like for the most part
-Almost anything I gave an 8, 9 or 10 to is something I consider a favorite of mine
1 : It exists. It just exists. It shouldn't, but it does.
2 : There was an attempt, but the whole staff probably gave up at some point
3 : The initial idea wasn't that bad but the result, while not awful, was overall too bad to be enjoyable
4 : There actually was something good, or at least decent in this mess and it is clear the staff tried to make something enjoyable, it's not horrible, but yeah it's really not good either and I didn't feel invested in most of what was happening
5 : Wasted potential at its finest, at least there was something truly enjoyable but the rest was just whether pure boredom or a mess. Or both. Most of the time it's both.
6 : Actually enjoyable and not that bad but it is really missing something and/or the writing could've been handled a much better way
7 : Good, with some very good/great aspects in it, but overall it whether could've been handled a bit better or it simply is good but is lacking the little something that makes a show special in my heart
8 : A great experience, the show knows how to be impactful, but it was missing a little something and/or wasn't consistent in its greatness which prevented me from giving it a higher score, as much as I love it
9 : An absolutely fantastic, memorable ride with incredibly impactful moments, but the show still has some little flaws that made it not as enjoyable as it could've been otherwise
10 : Not actual masterpieces because perfection doesn't exist (and I'm not qualified to judge what's the closest to perfection), but simply a show that is perfect in my heart. The little flaws I spotted barely bothered me and didn't ruin my experience in any way, everything was absolutely amazing
Okay, I don't think Princess Tutu is less mature than Utena. In fact I think it's a lot darker and I don't want to offend you but I absolutely hate Utena and think it's basically the anime version of Stalker (the Tarkovsky movie). Don't get what people see in this series. It has no depth at all imo and gives no (interesting) answers and payoffs for all the questions at the beginning. I could rant about the whole cast too but I think that's enough for now.
Would it be okay for you to discuss this in private messages? I don't want to potentially spoil other people (not that I think my comment section is read by many people but still I think we can go in more detail about the series in private messages. So I will leave you a friend request. I would probably have to prepare a question list for the discussion. One of the most obvious questions for me for example is what happened between episode 7 and 8.
Hi, I recently rewatched Kaiba and read comments in the discussion section of the last episode. I have seen that you liked the show but criticized the ending, so I am suprised to see that Kaiba has become your favourite anime. What has changed your opinion? Did you understand the last few episodes better over time, because I am definitely a bit confused about certain things in the last five episodes.

I do recommend you check out Natsume Yuujinchou and Chihayafuru. Both manga are beautiful and everyone owes it to themselves to try them.
