They have VERY similar storyline and are both of the Magical Girl type of anime. They both have interesting romance plots. You can't help but like both of them if you liked the other.

Both feature protagonists that have pink hair for starters. Each anime has a set of characters who transform with some sort of magic power they have. The characters are particularly younger and are involved with some sort of 'club'. The antagonists in both are trying to find some sort of secret power that seems to take forever to find. Also, the main character (being female) seems to have many male characters falling in love with them, be it a good guy, a bad guy or an antihero.

It's pretty much the same. Romance, Magical Girls and comedy. Tokyo Mew Mew is turning into cats (or other animals) and Mermaid Melody is turning into mermaids. They're REALLY like. I had to think of Tokyo Mew Mew when I was watching Mermaid Melody. Only difference is probably that they're singing in MM.

Both show have a five member magical girl team based on animals and sweets. The girls also work in a cafe in both series.

Utterly adorable magical girl series! Both TMM and CCS are kid-friendly tales that will appeal to anyone who enjoys girly, cutesy shoujo.

Both are another Set of cute Magical Girl animes,Yes! Pretty Cure 5 is the 4th season and recent newest season to the Pretty Cure Franchise, however, unlike the first 3 seasons,Pretty Cure,Pretty Cure Max Heart and Pretty Cure Splash Star, which the previouse seasons had two lead Females,Nagisa(Cure Black) and Honoka(Cure white), Yes! Pretty Cure 5 returned to the more familiar Sailor moon style(5 team members) Format, and is more similar to Tokyo mew mew than the previouse seaosns, for example,Nozomi(Cure Dream) the lead female in Yes! Pretty Cure 5 is very similar to Ichigo in Tokyo mew mew

Tokyo Mew Mew is what one gets if one takes the classic Sailor Moon and adds in the element of girls becoming animals within their magical transformations. In contrast, the classic focuses on embodying the planets. There is also a softness to both series, with the leader being of similar personality, not to mention interested in their love interest which in turn is a staple of certain magical girl series.

Both have very similar aspects but it is hard to tell why because the meaning of tokyo mew mew doesn't really come till the end of the anime. Both do have cute magical girls and or a girl in pretear fighting to save the world. They both also work hand in hand with saving the nature aspect of the world. This just goes to show since sailor moon and or all the other older magical girl animes. That this genre of anime will stand the test of time.

Both are typical Magical girls with cute stories, but also have cool drama storytelling as well, like most magical girls, each episode is a different slice of life each episode before fighting the "Monster of the week",however, unlike Tokyo mew mew and Sailor Moon,The first season of Pretty Cure and it's direct Sequel Pretty Cure max heart use DBZ-style psysical fight scenes, rather than magica wands

Both have bright color themes. Full moon has shinigami's which are good in this one, Takuto and Meroko. They make the series quite Magical girlish. Also, Mitsuki transforms into a older version of her to sing, so they both have transformations.

Both are magical girl type shows, that are super cute! ^.^

They're both magical girls anime, though Ojamajo is more for a younger audience.
report Recommended by MisaTange
Both have major elements of saving/healing the earth and the environment while being a magical girl show!

Both have magical transformations, and a team of five girls/boys bestowed with special powers being asked to fight against monsters to save the world
report Recommended by Gabii-Tachibana
Both have cute girls and both have a common goal together as well as also both have them doing musical sequences as well too and cute art and character designs.

I am not completely positive why I found these two similar, perhaps because they both have romance and comedy or maybe it`s because both female main characters work in a cafe, no matter what the reason, these are both great animes that I recommend.
report Recommended by SecretDolly
Both follow a small group of young girls who are "chosen" to take on heroic roles and are blessed with magical powers. They both use a similar mix of dramatic fight scenes, light-hearted humour and awkward romantic relationships. They each also have a key pet/guide type character that can't actually speak - Mokona in Magic Knight Rayearth and Mini Mew in Tokyo Mew Mew.

Both are about magical girls.

-Both involve magical girls who transforms -Both has a mission to complete (MewMew: Destory aliens, Houkago: Capture the fragments to help the aliens) -Both involve having an enemy that's trying to get in their way of completing their mission -Both involve school life, romance, comedy, happy -MewMew is 52 episodes, and Houkago is 13 but both VERY good -Houkago is more sad and mysterious than MewMew, but both very good animes. Like one, you'd definately love the other

- Magical girl anime where the MCs fight against aliens - MCs have animal-like characteristics (characters with ears and tails) - Tokyo Mew Mew features a romantic dynamic while Urahara is more centered on their friendship/self - Really vibrant colors and transformations

-Both are of the Magical Girl decent... Kinda. -Both have an alien life form of a sort. -Both have an interesting cast of Characters.

Tokyo Mew Mew and Catch Teenieping are both magical girl shows that also have baking! Both have adorably girly cafes, magical girl fights, and stories about friendship!

Siesta is a Maid and has Black Hair. And Minto from the Original Tokyo Mew Mew has Black Hair Too, and She's a Maid at Cafe Mew Mew.

Magical girls, A squad of 5 and overall a pretty cutesy feel.

While Tokyo Mew Mew is a magical girl TV series and The Cat Returns is a feature film, both anime are stories about a school girl that get caught up with incidents relating to animals, notably cats, and provides some good laughs. Reiko Yoshida is involved in both series, as she wrote the script of The Cat Returns and was the writer behind the original Tokyo Mew Mew manga, so both anime are also romance-oriented and may appeal to female anime fans.

Cute middle school girls fight evil! They're cute, funny, and based on manga. The girls are awkward and in love, which isn't always reciprocated. But the unique aspect of both is their environmentalism - TMM focuses on Animal and Planet extinction and activism to stop it, while NAR focuses on pollution, global warming, and 'healing'.

Despite very different premises these two series are incredibly similar . Let ' s start with the basics , The main characters miyo sasaki and ichigo momomiya are immensely similar from abilties to the troupe of loud girl likes quiet boy . Miyo and ichigo can both turn into cats , though it ' s in different ways these transformations for prolonged periods ( spoiler — warning ) . . . can cause them to lose their human form and forever remain a cat ( spoiler — ended ) . Both have crushes who are more reserved towards their human form and are more  read more

Both are very good magical girl series. Both have transformations with powers (as expected), but the characters in both series are very likable, interesting and memorable. Good story and fights. A bright and colourful style is used in both.

they are both shoujo anime about transforming. hoewever in tokyo mew mew they get animal powers this one they transform into gods by wearing a ring and it has very romantic love interest.
report Recommended by animegirl16091
They transform into animal battle costumes. Cute characters.

Both using girls who change into animals to fight evil. Tokyo mew mew is not as old as tonde buurin, but just as nice. Though in tokyo mew mew there are five girls and in tonde buurin only one =)
report Recommended by annabloem
cute magic girl series! tho nanatsuiro focuses more on the romance, and tokyo mew mew is much longer. both as gd tho!
report Recommended by sugarplumfairy
they are both to do with trying to save the world and boyfriends right?
report Recommended by lizriz
At first these two seem to have nothing is common but actually, when you get down to watching it, the same feel-good, world-is-ok feeling washes over you in a summery warm cloud. Probably something to do with the slightly similar heroines of Ichigo and Tohru. Give it a try!
report Recommended by ionamay
because their both Mahou Shoujo and the characters are to cute so you just gotta watch both!
report Recommended by Amaya-Kiro
Both Series are about girls who become super powered.
report Recommended by PrincessMTK4
Its a world full of magic! only the magical people know it though. Miaka in Fushigi Yugi is actually a ruler of the seven warriors of Suzaku. And Ichigo is the leader of a group of Mutant (but adorable) half animal-ish warriors here to save Tokyo from the aliens Kish, Tart and Pie and thier Evil Chimeras. They're bothe really good!
report Recommended by bridget_lalala
story almost the same girls picked to defend their planet from evil
report Recommended by patty0916
Karin and Ichigo are really, really alike... They act and look the same. Ichigo tries to hide the fact that she is a heroine and Karin tries to hide that she is a "vampire", that plot is the same for both anime. If you like Karin as a character you should see Tokyo Mew Mew as well!
report Recommended by MxOffline
The same kind of characters who have to transform to help save the world. Plus both series have two guides to help the girls on their journeys and in both series the characters tend to work in some sort of shop.
report Recommended by hamstar138
Both Tokyo Mew Mew and Princess Tutu are very similar in the way that they both have magical girls that have unknown identities. Ichigo is like Ahiru because they both are clumsy and get very nervous around the person they like, and both try to protect that person, and also try to keep their true identities hidden.

a group of girls fight to save the world and a few characters are alike like hibari/ichigo, mint/suzume, zakro/tsubame etc

They both have magical girls with awesome transformations. Aside from that, they also have similar plots that are very different at the same time. And the characters are all enjoyable.
