OHMYGOSH! This are the very first thing that came across my mind when I watch this.
Both anime are in the magical girl realm which involves 5 members in somewhat different ages who transformed into magical girl.
Both are sweets/food related. All cures/mews are connected into a certain sweets. Like in their names, birth name and transformed alter ego.
Both are animal related. Each cures/mews are 'fused' with an animal when they transformed and have that animal figure / traits. Though different in each series.

The similarity between Tokyo Mew Mew and Kira Kira Precure A la Mode is very similair. Both series are mahou shoujo anime aimed for little girls. You better have some cash with you because both anime have a café/sweet shop of some sort, while cute girls in cute maid outfits serve you every now and then (while also trying to make the world a better place). For the animal lovers out there; there's also an animal theme going on in both series.
