-They are both written by Lynn Okamoto -They are both about girls and powers -They are both violent and gory -There is a male lead with several girls with that power -The girls are being hunted down by the labs that created them -Involves graphic violence and emotion themes such as: social alienation, identity, prejudice, revenge, abuse, jealousy, regret and the value of humanity *off wikipedia

Both are about a harem of well endowed women with special powers fighting their own kind while trying to with the love of the harem lead. Lots of boob shots ensue.

Both shows have the main cast in an astronomy club. Both shows also have characters that have premonitions about the future to warn their friends. The two animes have sense of mystery and with a bit of romance. The only major difference is that Brynhildr is focused on fighting.

If these two are anything to go by, lately there has been something of an anime fad where DARKDEATHBLOODDOOOOM subject matter gets blended with... the desires of otaku. One minute you'll be watching a gruesome dismemberment scene; the next you'll be watching lighthearted anime humour, with boobs and pantsu thrown in. HUH!? Brynhildr has a premise involving predicting future deaths, human experimentation, needing medication to not die horribly whilst coughing up blood and many other feel good aspects. Then, naturally, you have Mr. Average Harem lead forming a girls-only observatory group--the heroine, ofc, being a childhood friend with no memories. New girls are introduced one after  read more

If you give the girls in each series a lugubrious backstory and fetishize them completely and you have two very similar works. The narratives in each are somewhat action based, but ultimately neither feel too far away from being just another Elfen Lied clone ten years too late.

Both are harems full of fanservice and try to be serious. The girls all have social problems and are hunted by some eeeevil organisation and seek shelter from the main character, who is the only guy who can save them with the power of friendship

Teenagers who secretly have superpowers team up with each other to try to live a normal life while helping out other teens like them. They also are trying to avoid getting caught and experimented on for having powers.

Everyone seems to be targeted by supernatural phenomenons. Our main characters must solve the mystery behind it. Prevent deaths to come. Both series having that chilling like horror feel. Dark, gory, and thriller. The Opening theme song for both series is very haunting.

Similarities: Both have the same situation where the guy and girl met once when they where children and after sometime they where able meet again. Both have the same school settings. Both have the same sci-fi, romance, harem and action genre. Both have similar situation where girl is running away from an evil organization. And, both have the same predicament where guy got involved. Dissimilarities: One has an extra comedy genre, while the other one has a mystery genre. The girl in one anime is an ET, while the girl in the other anime is a gov't science project that got away.

Both have a main character who believes in the existence of aliens, but in Denpa the main character thinks she's an alien, while in Brynhildr he just thinks they exist. Both have the alien aspect, but actually have little to do with aliens.

I watched these two anime pretty much back to back and noticed that brynhildr was very similar to deadman wonderland. Both anime have a similar system of people required to consume something (candy/pill) to stay alive. In deadman wonderland, they have branches of sin-blood weapons, and in brynhildr they have powers such as erasing people's memories. The character relationships also have similarities. Deadman Wonderland - Shiro + Ganta played together as children Brynhildr - Neko + Ryouta played together as kids I believe that there were more similarities, however because it has been awhile since I've watched these animes  read more

Both shows have "organizations" that focus on female experiments to do "work" for them. Both shows are extremely bloody and divide their female characters by "ranks", Claymore numerically, and Brynhildr alphabetically. However, Claymore is more of a hack and slash anime in a medieval setting, while Byrnhildr is in a modern setting.

Similarities Both have situations where one must take pills in order to survive Cute girls Both need to beat people that are clearly stronger No one is to overpowered Dissimailarities The plot is completely different. Canaan requires the use of guns and pure strength but Brynhildr is witches
report Recommended by kuroneko_san
Although one involves zombies and the other involves witches both have uncanny similarities. In "Gokukoku no Brynhildr" the male protagonist "Murakam, Ryoutai" has the amazing talent of photographic memory and the ability to stay cool, calm and collective in situations that really count. Situations arise around Ryouta which call for quick and cleaver decision making which he follows through brilliantly to protect his childhood love and everyone around him. Characters come and go really quick but if you look at "Highschool of the Dead", a lot of characters come and go really quick or should I say the main cast dispose of them really quick and  read more

It's Otonashi in a new form: I say this because the English Voice actor is Otonashi from Angel Beats! And during Episode 2, he says something that Otonashi would say and act, plus it feels like the English Voice Actor wanted it to be like Angel Beats, and I sense it when he voiced this show. If you miss Angel Beats, and wanted more, this is the show, and it's all thanks to Otonashi English Voice Actor.

In my opinion these two animes are really a like. First, both have a dark atmosphere, althought there's some light comedy in Brynhildr. Secondly, the art is really similar, and Murakama looks like Oz to me. Their characters are also alike, Murakama tries to protect Kuroneko, wile Oz tries to protect Alice. Murakama and Oz both are ordinary humans, while Kuroneko and Alice have magic powers. Alice and Kuroneko both have dark past - Alice's been to Abyss (Hell) and Kuroneko has been basically a laboratory rat, which developed her to become a modified witch. Both girls are running from their past, falling in love with the guy who saved them  read more

While both have different storylines, the lightheartedness and the supernatural come together to form something entertaining. Especially if the latter is far better than the superior.

similarities: -girls with esper powers. -guys who was living a peaceful life gets turned upside-down when they met a girl (Touman and Index, Kuroneko and Ryota). -sci-fi adventure/action differences: -Brynhildr has a dark atmosphere

Girl with special powers escapes from research facility in which she was experimented upon and finds custody in our MC. The main difference is that Alice to Zouroku is more light-hearted while Gokukoku no Brynhildr is quite violent.
report Recommended by Piromysl
Both series feature cute girls in the main cast that have special abilities, live apart from or are shunned from society, and have shorter than normal life spans. Both shows also have the MC treat these girls as regular people and he helps them experience just being human. This in turn endears him to them. Although the plots to the two series are quite different, this underlying theme is present in both shows.

Both of these anime have a slightly echi side to them. Both harems are filled with girls with unique abilities. The male protagonist in both is constantly trying to save and help the girls in the harem. The character design for the main female interest is similar and are both voices by Taneda Risa. The episode and series pacing for both is also very similar. The main female interest in both can be violent with the MC when he does anything with another female.
report Recommended by markekraus
Same supernatural feel. A guy gets sucked into a world of the supernatural by saving/being saved by a girl with an oddity (bakemonogatari)/supernatural powers(brynhildr).
report Recommended by HRinka
Both animes share a similar sadly dark feeling where the MC is the only person who really cares and tries to save a bunch of 'magical' girls in trouble AND he also develops a romantic relationship with one of the girls.
report Recommended by tehstarr
Not-so-ordinary-harem with pretty girls who are not exactly humans. "Pretty girl is supposed to kill the group but eventually she will join to them" concept. Sora no Otoshimono is more comedy and Gokukoku is more gore but I like both of them and story is really quite similiar, I'm quite surprised that I'm the first one making this suggestion :)
report Recommended by Nagami
Both are fast-paced series with horror elements, that involve the main characters attempting to outwit their mysterious enemies using their intelligence. Brynhildr has more fanservice and more cute girls than Shiki, though.
report Recommended by aimaimami
Both have organizations that experiment on girls that give them superpowers. Crystal blaze actually has a satisfying ending. Gokukoku no Brynhildr has lots of loose ends.
report Recommended by stanklem28
They have their differences but the have the same feel to them. That desperation for survival. Significant amounts of blood are included. Fanservice also included.

Well it deals with aliens first off. Its also about girls enhanced through medical and surgical means to be in super human. Its also ecchi however I enjoyed Byrnhildr in the darkness a little more than freezing. Similarities -Ecchi/ harem - Aliens -medically enhanced female characters -naive airheads that had bad pasts -tits.... They're everywhere 😑 Differences -One they are actually fighting the aliens in one of them -They are both pretty serious anime that sometimes has a light feel but get darker as the show goes on
