They are both made by kyoani. The characters are similiar and the atmosphere is the same. Both really cute and if you liked the light tones of the show you're surely gonna enjoy k-on, which is 100% warm feelings and friendship

The main girl in Tamako Market is basically a blue-eyed Chitanda Eru. Their personalities are also very similar. Plot-wise these two animes don't have much in common, but none the less they're both quite fun!

While not entirely similar, both series has the premise of working at a local area to make a living. The characters from both series live their common lives in a slice of life like pattern. There is also some animals from both series. The atmosphere from both these series is also light and pleasant to get into. With that, they have tons of comedy and fun moments.

-Both girls work in a store in the shopping district -Both girls are optimistic and happy -In both stories there's a guy that likes them but can't muster up the nerve to say so Soredmo Machi the form a band and in Tamako market they cheer with batons. Both girls also seem drawn to interesting and troublesome events. Both really cute stories

The story begins in a shopping district and has some fantasy stock. The character design in Tamako is cute though.

The series start with an an extraordinary outsider being introduced to a close community of people. Places that feel like tight little utopias this other person has stumbled into. From it all unexpected bonds are made and there's a great sense of belonging involved. Where problems come out by everyone helps out. Coupled with that is a refreshing feeling from the designs and colors of the two series.

Both are slice of life and the protagonist together with her friends and family.

both of these anime revolve around the children in different shops in a town. they are both comedy/slice of life. it shows how they live their life (slice of life). both can get funny at some stage. i guess tippy can represent dera and vice versa.

Its not exactly the same, but there are quite a few similarities. The dim witted main character and the humor are similar. Although, SxS contains less plot and is just like comedic mild office romance. The best part about the jokes are not when they happen, its the characters reactions.

Same art style with cute girls and lots of fun. Story is similar: there is no stressfull moments in these shows. You just watch them to relax. Main characters and their relationships with other people are same

I found Tamako Market to be similar to Hanasaku Iroha by the romance aspect and how the main characters are not focused on romance, both shows are slice of life each with their own elements but the main drive of the show is not romance in both shows. In fact the romantic interest tended to be a topic avoided and focused more on friendship.

Both series revolve around a group of high school students that shows the bonds of the characters throughout the show. The art styles are fairly relative, and a couple of the characters remind me of eachother, especially Mocchizou and Taichi, and Nagase and Tamako. Kokoro Connect, however, is a series that'll tug at your heart-strings, while Tamako Market is more of a laid-back comedy. Both series definetley has its light moments, and I enjoyed both of them a lot.

Both Anime have the boy and the girl with similar personalities. The plot and story are not similar at all but if you like the characters in Tamako Market, you will like Clannad's too.

Like So Ra No Wo To, Tamako Market is a story about girls' friendships and healing through communality. In particular, the characters in these stories act joyfully in beautifully rendered backgrounds and atmosphere, emotional ambience, and tightly built settings. And yet, even with the jubilant character animation and lighthearted tales, there is an undercurrent of loss, sadness, and a longing for the past that adds a bittersweet tang to every smile. So Ra No Wo To as well as Tamako Market (in subtler ways) are full of mindful joy we must find in the world through reconciliation, acceptance, and letting go.

I always get hooked if the characters are moe, cute, kawaii or whatever the term to use. very relaxing ride and entertaining. if you want to get relax and having a good time watching anime. You should try these two series :D

I really like the idea of a story of everyday life including the working environment. Both are cute and funny anime. love it.

Both shows are comedies in which a non-human character becomes like a member of the family (a bird in Tamako Market and the gargoyle in Yoshinaga-san'chi no Gargoyle). A shopping district and the people who live there are very important to the characters in both. There are touching moments and some romance, though not as much as you may want. Major differences between the two are that Yoshinaga-san'chi no Gargoyle has much more action and focuses more on supernatural elements.

Not exactly a plot twist, but both shows have drastic shift of mood around the ending. From a seamlessly for-fun-only show with not enough stuff to worry about to the dramatic mess of growing-up, decision, and change. Both are pretty cool if you want a full-blown comedy. But Toradora fare better as a reflection of youth, the last part is totally a grinding melodrama. The last part was well-made, believable story, good dramatic atmosphere, and everyone was scary, even the funny one. For me, I personally dislike drama and can't stand watching one from the beginning, but both shows started off as comedy, and it get me  read more

as the popular (?) review for Fun Fun Pharmacy mentioned, both Tamako Market and Fun Fun Pharmacy are about the main girl's interaction with market people and the lively market atmosphere, both shows are kinda episodic too

If you need a good slice of life romance this anime can be said to be quite good even I can guarantee it because it is similar, because the story of life is not monotonous which makes it good I recommend it.

Both involve Japanese sweets shops and a focus on slice of life.

I think that Tamako Market (and the movie sequel "Tamako Love Story") are super cute and heartwarming just like Ao Haru Ride. These are really good if you love light-hearted romances without any major villains that terrorise the world and such but you enjoy watching two characters fall in love. For both series (more so the movie than the series), you kind of just chant for the main couple to get together.

Both animes are based on managing restaurants. Both series thrive with many faces of different personalities. The stories and adventures between the characters in both series are both sad and funny to watch. Although the animals are limited in tamako market, it's still a fun show to watch.

Characters living in a community, getting to know each other and each others work, while trying to find meaning for their lives. Haibane Renmei is set in a fictional world, with unique characteristics and world building, while Tamako Market is just set in real life, but with an interesting and varied cast of characters.

Both wholesome and you will enjoy every epsidoe surely if you love Slice Of Life types of anime.

The slice of live/comedy part of Taisou Zamurai reminded me a lot of Tamako Market. Maybe the initial reason why I thought of Tamako Market is because in both anime there appears a very strange bird, that seems to be a symbol or even the cause of some weirdness. It's this cozy, lighthearted weirdness that Taisou Zamuraiand Tamako Market have in common. The weird elements might be just stupid unrealistic stuff for some but to me it made both anime very special und fun to watch, along with the lovable characters, that both anime also have in common. I can think of other anime with the  read more

Both of them have a cute and moe girl, from the same house prouctions, have a soft and beautifully graphics... but the most same way is The story was a mild comedy-school life and have a romance story as a minor genre.

They share the same care-free environment and not much of a story line. They are both great shows to watch if you just want to relax and smile without awakening any particular emotions.
report Recommended by Silendris
Both feature a moe-ish kind of girl as the heroine. They both have a strange creature that takes to them and those around them. (Dera/Pupipo) Both have quirky themes to them and have a fantasy (in Pupipo's case supernatural) feel to them.

(Personally) Both of these shows fall under this healing category. Both main characters are a little dense, but they're both shows you can just watch to relax after a long day without worrying too much about the plot. No hard topics seem to be covered in either of the shows so you can really just watch the characters go about their day, make friends, interact with pets etc.

Although both have Kyoto Animation written all over it, Lucky Star, like Tamako Market has that "moe" and "slice of life" effect that for some could be considered trivial fluff, but for most others, a breath of relaxing fresh air that can bring a smile to your face. Minus the fact that Lucky Star doesn't have an actual plot line, but it is still effective.

Similar random humor, together with a young girl protoganist. Tamako is about the live on the Tamako Market (and a random chicken), while Yuru Yuri is about 4 girls and their fun club.
report Recommended by Jeller
Both of these shows are very colorful and expressive, with fantastic animation throughout. They are largely about family and the relationship the characters have with their own family, as well as those living around them. Their worlds are incredibly fleshed out and distinct, giving very specific and instantly identifiable vibes from both. Very like-able characters that are fun to watch. They also both feature some level of supernatural elements (Eccentric Family having tons, Tamako Market having just a little bit).

In both series, there is a focus on comedy with a lighthearted background. Additionally, it involves a talking creature with the ability to speak and behave like a human. Both series contains an area where there it involves food. Additionally, the main character from both series has curious personalities. Both series has many cute expressions with the main character being the main focus. Although lacking storyline, they have give off a slice of life feeling that details every day lives in a fun way.

Both have a similar feeling. They provide an ideal world, and both have a carefree main protagonist.
report Recommended by HotaruKiryu
Both are rather silly, with an undertone of one-sided romance between childhood friends that may develop into more. Funny female characters that are friends of the main girl, as well as an oblivious girl.
report Recommended by bottledragon
Both have a hint of romance and cuteness fulled within the show, and have the same style of art to them. They also contain cute talking animals with a goal they wish to achieve.

Similarities: Both MC's are creatures with some human-like features. Both MC's found themselves hanging out in some food establishment. Both MC's have a mission on the place they went through. Both MC's can be rather annoying. Both animes have comedy and slice of life. Dissimilarities: The MC in one anime is a half human and half squid and has special abilities, while the other one is just a pesky bird who simply can talk. One anime is set in some tropical seaside beach in southern Japan, while the setting in another anime is in some shopping district in the city. One anime has no mini skirt fanservice, whiled the other anime does have some  read more

Both are slice of life stories about close-nit communities in a small shopping gallery. Nothing special to them, but they do give the feeling of family between people with no actual family relations. Tamako Market's community is ridiculously kind, while Ikoku Meiro no Croisée is a little more cautious and distant. However, both feature friendly people who are just trying to get by in life.

Yuri in less distilled form, but Slice of Life more heavily concentrated than crystal meth. These are the qualities that will either make you love or hate both shows equally. Tamako Market is pure slife of life, telling us what the largely female casts do daily. It is set in an average modern day settings, and focus on the little ladies' activity within their sphere of interest. There are some arguable fantasy elements, but I shall refrain from spoiling that. Hidamari Sketch is also telling us what four to six girls, depending on season, do with their life and art class. Yes, they actually sketch from  read more

When I first watched the Opening Song of Futsuu no Joshikousei it reminded me of Tamako Market, like Tamako-chan and Locodol they do anything for the place where they grew up.

These two anime are both about cute young girls who live in small towns who live in small towns and do their best to help out with their family business. They're both very calming anime. They're overshadowed by their movies.
