Having gotten back to the Atelier game franchise recently, I definitely felt more attached to the characters especially Ryza.

Klaudia displayed her elegance and politeness as expected for her role. I like how Ryza got so invested into her latest assignment too. A very calm episode again and they're really giving Klaudia more chance to shine. Just like from the game, she got the chance to play her flute.

So Ryza is starting to make a name for herself slowly but surely she will be recognized for what she is doing.
And she seems to like helping others out which is also nice to watch.

Seems the friendship with Klaudia is also getting better so things are looking good.

I understand why everyone talks about Ryza, but I'm personally more into Klaudia

The ending was sweet.
This episode seemd like some side quests from the game except Klaudia's flute. I hope there will be a more overarching plot in the future.

Looks like Ryza’s graduated to becoming a full on Alchemist! She has even taken on a few quests already.

The search for Mrs. Barbara's flower unexpectedly transformed into a captivating mini adventure. Personally, I find the alchemy sequence quite fascinating. It was wonderful that Klaudia could lend a hand. I'm delighted to have her as part of our group! And would you look at that she got her iconic staff from the game as well! Very faithful to the game they even added Klaudia's flute scene. Pretty decent episode imo.

Really sweet and wholesome episode. Not only did Ryza help with Barbara’s flower and bringing back some good old memories, but she’s also gradually improving as an alchemist. It’s nice to be on this journey with her.

Klaudia was great today as well.

That's it, I'm going to give this adaptation a 1/10.

They literally rushed through random side quests at the wrong order, completing quests that literally requires items from late-game areas, but Empel just happened to have those materials conveniently lmfao.

Not just that, they ruined a side quest of the Dye Tailor old man which happened to feel old and obsolete which was one of the reasons for him not being into business anymore, that was until Ryza helped him out into finding an apprentice, that guy who was looking to be more than just a handyman. The butchered all that.

They also butchered the old granny's quest too by randomly rushing through her quest and revealing details that you get by helping her every time she has a request, it all was revealed to Ryza by randomly helping this lady once with her feet.

Last but not least, the most infuriating butcher of this adaptation is how they butchered Klaudia's important flute moment, they barely even made a good job at building this up, they also managed to make that moment in the most mundane, lukewarm way possible.

So earlier I was surprised to see Romy even made it in the anime, but here they pretty much completely adapted the side quest revolving around Barbara, Pat and their friend who is already gone, I really like that they did that. It kinda contrasts well with the main story too, giving how Ryza and her friends aren’t so different from what these old folks used to be, and I also just like it because it’s very SoL lol, nice and comfy.

And not only that, they tied Klaudia into it a bit more so it kinda worked as her becoming a main character as well and not just a side thing, it worked very well actually. And Klaudia’s playing was very nice at the end too, usually I’d be upset we didn’t get to hear the ED but I’ll take this lol.

As someone else that’s played the game, I can understand being upset with the adaptation for these reasons but I wasn’t expecting them to adapt the side quests in any stretch so I’m pretty happy with what we’re getting here, it also flowed well too imo, but once again I completely understand being upset with it.

Hmm, I guess amalgamating several sub-quests into a single one was the only possible way to actually introduce those minor characters in the anime.
On the flip side, it was nice to see the mysterious goat make its animated debut.

Yeah well, they could have been a little more subtle with these, also, a certain key point has been long overdue by now, which makes most of these characters lack ambition (and feel like actual characters too)

I actually thought Ryza could be the simplest in terms of adapting as it is more lighthearted and easy going than usual (hell, I would be happy if they actually portrayed the beauty of the game, but they haven't really done that, not even with the first episode as it was done in a very superficial way) but I guess I was wrong.

I get merging quests for the sake of pacing and plot consistency, but some of these quests had special value all thanks to them feeling important for the sake of world building, they're now just feel like randomly introduced characters with no other importance than to help Ryza absorb alchemy knowledge and not develop her interest in lore as well as growing as a character while helping others on the way, as it stands  now, they just feel like conveniently random plot devices.

heartwarming episode. Ryza helps an old woman and an old man connect with their past, to have a bit of closure. Sad that the third friend already pass away.

oh, and the melody that Klaudia played with her flute is beautiful. I hope she plays again sometime.

hmm, so Empel just gave Ryza that alchemy mixing item for free? He's quite generous. Although I fear he might ask for something in return later.

good episode.

Lent is just like me, feeling impatient and wanting to get some action haha

the story focused more on the untold tradition of a certain trio of town folks and Klaudia this episode and it's a really endearing one.
Klaudia cumming out of her shell due to Ryza leading by example is sweet to see.
they put a lot of work onto Klaudia this episode and I love the frames showing the close ups of her face and the brief emphasis on her outfit too.

A sweet little episode.

I don't think this show will ever develop a serious plot or a bigger adventure stroy. But honestly, aside from the "watching a Let's Play" feeling, it does good in the wholesome category, so I don't mind that much. It's better to have a slow show that knows what it wants to be than one that tries to do both wholesome and serious, yet fails to connect them.

Although this episode showcased a theme of reviving nostalgic memories, this slow paced subplot has made you feel for the elderly characters in remembering the good old days probably for the last time together. So Klaudia is really part of the party seeing how she too want to find something that will give her a purpose to do what she love doing.

I like how it ended with the 2 of them near the grave and connecting the "three bats of the village" thing but majority of the episode felt weird, I get it at thi point, the entire thing might just end up being Ryza doing a bunch of errands.

Empel and Lila may seem distant, but they actually care for their students. Since Ryza is the main character, it's natural that she receives the most development. However, we also hope to see more development for Tao, Lent, and Klaudia as the story progresses.

Yes, Ryza never fail to synteshis. It's cute to see Ryza is so optismic and always cheerful. And it's a little nostalgia to see they only have 1 cloth using everyday... Nowaydays anime character have more than 1 cloth.

Ryza, finally being an alchemist, wants to synthesize better, though she can't quite defy her mother. Any chance that she is given to do alchemy, it's good for her. But for Klaudia, she has a flute that she was carrying along on her own without her father's acknowledgement, though she wants to perfect it someday. Seeking an audience with Barbara, she was like Ryza, Lent and Tao being the Three Brats of the village seeking adventure. With that, she requests Empel's permission to step outside the town, though Lila will tag with them in case of any trouble, along with Lent and Tao to get only the ingredients they require. A flower that doesn't have a strong scent, Klaudia could've helped Ryza, though following a stray goat leads it to the flower that she's looking for. It might not be the flower that Barbara is wanting because of its sent, but at least visually it looks identical.

It's too late to turn back now, though Klaudia drags Ryza to Pat's place to deliver the fabric that he wanted using alchemy. The smell coming from the Delphi Rose Incense, it's the exact same scent that he sent to Barbara congratulating her on her marriage, along with the flower that they found the other day. But the thing is that he did not have the incense since it's used for his work, however, if a lil' alchemy could help it would be great. But this incense requires masterful skill, as well as hard-to-find ingredients, and that must all be done by remembering the smell, and Ryza did her alchemy to reimagine the exact scent for Barbara.

Along with Klaudia's music, the former Three Brats have a happy reunion, and the former is finally part of the team. Welcome, Klaudia.
