----------------------------------------
Nice development episode. It seems Joe is beginning to make a name for himself in the boxing world.

Yukiko also made her intentions known although I still wonder if she has any hidden agendas. On the other hand, we're also getting more focus on Yuuri. The guy has a lot of potential too in terms of his boxing skills.

Joe is keeping up with his skills too. Gotta train up that body and keep up with the rest! Hope he gets another chance someday....he got screwed this episode.

Joe getting recognition at the very start of the episode not surprised seeing as he's made it this far with any kind of gear. I have to admit I was impressed with just how popular joe has become, his face is everywhere it's getting tagged on walls, in magazines and even tattooed on. seeing joe's body being completely bruised like that really shows how tough some of the opponents really are. I was not expecting that twist at the end... it made me so mad, I can't wait for the next episode.

This twist a the end of the episode was so hard ! I'm feeling so bad for Joe, this episode was all about showing that finally, he have a chance to win Megalonia and that people are really supporting him. I really wonder how he can overcome this obstacle and how his fans will react ...

The rap at the start was amazing, the soundtrack just keeps on getting better and better for each episode. Joe is getting more recognition. I was not expecting that ending. I feel bad for Joe, but this might be a good thing since he's not in good health. He was peeing blood...

This episode was pretty much build up. I liked the dynamics created between the Shirato siblings.

We’re left on a cliffhanger, but I have no doubt in my mind Joe will find a way to fight and box the cocky shit into next week!

The soundtrack is a must buy. Hands down the best music of any show this season.

That twist at the end. I did not see that coming. This show is definitely gone from being a sleeper to one of the best of 2018.

Damn, it was so obvious that Joe would get into trouble because of his backround:S

Getting forced to forfeit the match after he has come so far is really bitter.Well, there's(almost) no doubt that he will still get into the ring, even tho his overall conditon is already alarming.

Story has definitely gotten even more interesting this week.

Joe became a superstar with girls getting a tattoo of him.

Shirato implied that fighting without gear is against rules of Megalonia, but her brother's gear is AI controlled, he doesn't do anything himself. How is that allowed?

The end was inevitable, I guess, but Shirato will definitely help him get back.

I'm not particularly bothered by it, i think it shakes things up a little bit and that's a good thing, we all know Joe would have won if he entered the match and that would have been repetitive.

Wow, that end ... it's sure that I didn't expect it. All in all, a slow episode where relations between Yukiko and his brother are develloped with a matter of inheritance behind ... However, I have trouble understanding the behavior of Yukiko's brother : he wants to fight Joe but prefers to prevent him from getting on the ring in order to win by forfeit ? I feel that I have misunderstood some things. In any case I can't wait to see more because the situation seems strange to me ... I wonder how all this will evolve.

Very interesting episode, more development in some characters and more information. The music showing the favouritism for Joe was cool.

The relation between Yukiko and his brother aren't that great. She still have something hiding. Joe had development in his training with the help of the kids, great teamwork.

The last part of the episode was shocking and unexpected. Joe really got down quickly after hearing that. Thrilling moment there, and what a cliffhanger.

Understandably Gearless Joe became a star, he's all over the media and he's the favorite of the people!

I really wasn't expecting the Shirato siblings to be fighting over inheritance, but that's good stuff! Still... I can't believe he was low to the point of challenging someone knowing that he had how to win without even fighting. In the end, Joe only got caught into the siblings quarrel.

I don't want to believe things are just going to end like this, but I guess all we can do is wait for the next episode. But if things somehow work out, this is going to be for the best, that fake ID could only go so far.

And as far as the siblings go... #TeamYukiko

Music was great in this episode, on Mikio's screen it had Joe listed as an "Arestee" which made me gasp when I saw it because it might mean that he plans to have Joe sent to prison which means they actually are doing the prison story arc from Ashita no Joe except after he's already become a boxer which sounds interesting can't wait to see what happens next. I'm also glad that Yukiko isn't actually the villain as she had been made out to be in a few scenes, interested to see where that goes too.

Mikio is trying to get back what he wants, no matter the cost.
I would like to see what he lost. Fame? Power? Humiliation?

Either you lose, disqualified and get arrested because of fake IDs,
or you lose but still keeping yourself in the match.

You are losing no matter how. What will you choose?

Oh, Shit! That twist at the end where Joe is finally found out to not actually be a Megalonia citizen really surprised me. As usual with most serious anime, left us on a cliffhanger. This episode left me wondering if Joe is out of the competition, or perhaps he will get another chance in the ring? Megalo Box is halfway over, so who knows. But seeing him fucked over like that kinda hurt. Props to the creator, this anime is proving to be fantastic so far.

Damn, that was a mess up ending. We see more of the intentions behind the sponsors and creators of megalo. Some family beef behind the scenes. Added a nice little layer of plot to the already solid story. It really seemed like everyone's goals were really coming together, and the then final scene just ruined it. Poor Saicho crying at the end. That hurt to watch. I really wonder what will happen next.

The ending was so intense! I kept thinking Junk Dog was gonna get up and run through those closing doors but they really let that prick win.

This throws everything in complete disarray. I wonder how Junk Dog is gonna enter Megalomania now. Maybe one of the contestants gets kicked out or something, idk.

This series continues to impress, quickly becoming one of my favorites.

It's not just the AI doing the work. Coach Nanbu even said while watching Mikio's match that he didn't get this far just by relying on AI, that there's also some skill to the boxer, and that his innate talent that he already has combined with the AI is what makes him such a formidable opponent.

Such a good cliffhanger, nothing too crazy + we could see it coming with Nambu's reiteration of Joe's fake ID.

The amount of details in all the character animations really capture their emotions + personalities. Insane series.

Well first part of the episode showed how Joe became popular. Women creating Joe's tattoo on their bodies and people ignoring real dog race and reading Joe's article.

Also we got to see bit of the back story of Yukkiko and Mikio.

Also Tthe second part.Really felt sad for Joe.I know he will come back.

Interesting episode, I think we will see some cooperation between Yukkiko and Team Nowhere in the future episodes. They have the same goal in the moment - get Mikio out of the game. They will probably work together, make Joe's appearance in the ring legal and Joe will get some fancy gear. Can't wait to see more, it's just too good.

I have the feeling that Shirato will move the strings so that Joe enters Megalonia, although she seems a tough girl she's actually a Tsundere, and I'm sure that Yuri must be pressing her to let him face Joe.

It seems that Megalonia is a kind of private tournament to promote the gears so while you carry gear the rest does not matter, that's why Joe is seen as an enemy to the company. I don't think Joe will use a gear since this is a bit Joe against the system.

After Joe was KO with a simple blow from the old man?

I don't know if that arc would make much sense now since Joe is already a professional boxer and he already knows Rikiishi's alter ego, although there is still half of the anime, it would be strange if he only had three more matches to go, a fight against Mikio, another in the semifinal of Megalonia and another in the final against Yuri.

Exeterna said:

as a fan of the show that was a "dick move", but as a fan of great storytelling, it was an amazing twist.

some potential ways Joe could get back in:
- Shirato finds out and she gets him citizenship
- Someone finds out what happens and pressures the company to fix this issue
- The media turns on Joe and Aragaki come to Joe's defense

There are lot of possibilities but I think second is not possible since Joe is an illegal boxer who should not be there in the first place. Third is pretty cool.

I think this can turn into a dispute between those who support Joe and those who do not support Joe.
-Nanbu, Sachio, Yuri, poor people and sports lover people.
-Almost all megalo boxers, Shirato Combine company, Shirato investors and other elitists.

I've got a doubt with Yukiko Shirato, she doesn't look to dislike Joe but she has the company pressure. She can be the decissive key.

It was obvious that eventually he was going to get in troubles for being an "ilegal citizen" and the fact that the dude is the brother of a smart woman kinda spoils it off. But anyways, an okay episode, I loved the first minutes when they show how Gearless Joe is making a name for himself and seeing Sachio's friends again, it was heartwarming for a moment
