I did! I have to give it a few more listens, but it might end up becoming my favorite album of this year (or at least tied with the Slipknot album). Bring Back the Plague is still my favorite one from the album too, but I'm also liking With All Disrespect and Time's Cruel Curtain a lot. The whole album is great really. I guess the interludes are skippable, but I imagine it would be sick to hear them live before a song. I think every song on the album has those "goblin vocals" during the choruses this time, unlike the past two albums where only some of them did. I'm personally ok with that, prefer it even, but I did read some comments of people complaining about the album being "too melodic".
My friends back in middle/high school were into those bands too. I mean I also enjoyed them but was only really obsessed with MCR out of those. I think I was more of a metalcore/deathcore kid. I remember some of my friends thinking BMTH's "Suicide Season" was pretty hardcore, but when I showed them stuff from SS's "The Cleansing" or "No Time to Bleed" they were weirded out. I wonder if they even knew about "Count Your Blessings".. I was a really edgy teenager lol. MCR broke up in 2013, right? I was in my senior year of high school at that time. Strangely enough, I don't remember freaking out about it. I guess I had a lot of other things on my mind at the time. The first time I heard a song from DEP was on Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 when I was like 12 or 13. It was "Unretrofied". It used to be my favorite song in the game and I used it as my created superstar's theme song lol. I don't know why I didn't look up more songs from them back then but I probably wouldn't have enjoyed them as much as I do now considering how "avant-garde" they were compared to the bands I listened to. By now I've already listened to their entire discography a bunch of times but I STILL don't know what my favorite album from theirs is (I don't think they've ever made a bad album). "Calculating Infinity" is peak Mathcore, but I also enjoy their more melodic stuff, so maybe an album like "Miss Machine" or "Option Paralysis" would be my favorite since it has a nice balance between those styles.
Nice, glad you liked them! Arakawa was definitely one of the funniest anime I've seen too. I'll probably give it a rewatch one of these days. I'll be checking out Vinland Saga for sure. One of my friends used to tell me about how great the manga was, and now that it got an anime adaptation there's no reason not to watch it. I can relate with the seasonal anime thing though. I think I'll add Vinland Saga and one more and that will be enough for this season. I also want to rewatch the Monogatari series so I gotta make time for that as well.
I didn't know about that til you mentioned it, but damn how braindead can someone be to just take someone else's album cover and use it as their own? The sheer disrespect, I'm glad Cattle Decap is making some profit out of it at least lol, plus that rapper seems to be getting more hate than anything.
Yeah, seems like many people think it's just another Marvel-like movie. Parents were even bringing their kids to the movie, like what? Joker is definitely not the kind of movie you bring your kids to. The movie is Rated R for a reason. I don't think I have seen any other of his movies but I sure am interested in watching some of them now. Walk the Line looks like it's right up my alley so I'll be planning to watch it.
Yeah I heard about it! I remember there was a time where I was heavily into MCR, just plain obsessed lol. I'm glad they are back for a reunion. Now if only The Dillinger Escape Plan did the same.. I got into them after they disbanded, which sucks.
I see, that seems like what most people go for when buying their first car. Mine was around that price range too. I'm still not sure what car I want to buy in the future though..
No problem, glad you liked it. Now we wait for the movie! (and hopefully a 2nd season). Now that you mention it, it does have some similarities with Bleach. The Pillars/Hashiras kinda remind me of the Captains in Bleach, and that fire move Tanjirou did in episode 19 was reminiscent of a Bankai. I don't have any other recommendations like that at the moment but I'll let you know if I watch any newer anime that impresses me as much as Kimetsu no Yaiba. Of course there are still the other recs I gave if you still haven't watched them (Arakawa Under the Bridge, Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei, Welcome to the NHK..)
Man, I love the direction that Cattle Decap is heading to. Their stuff before Monolith was good too but everything from Monolith and onward has been amazing. I have a feeling that their new album will be their best.
I saw it recently and let me tell ya.. best movie I've seen in years. It's not for everyone but if you don't mind darker themes in "superhero" movies then it'll be a great watch. I still don't know why a lot of people call it a superhero movie though. It's a character study more than anything, and yeah Joaquin did an amazing job with Joker. If you haven't watched it already.. I would recommend it 100%. Even if for some reason you end up not liking the plot or themes of the movie, you'll definitely enjoy Joaquin's performance as the Joker.
El Pollo Loco, huh? I don't think there's any of those where I live but there is KFC (and yeah it's pretty shit). Congrats on getting that permit. What kind of car do you have in mind? I've been doing well in Uni grade-wise but it has been pretty stressful.. oh well, you get used to it.
Ha, yeah.. I know that feel. Instead of albums though I bought a xbox controller to use for my laptop but then I realized that I could just use my PS4 controller and connect it to my laptop with the cable that I use to charge my phone. Just an impulse buy, but I did went and got a refund about a week later. I started watching anime again but it's not like I've seen a lot either. Right now I'm watching the Azur Lane and the FGO anime, so far so good. I did get burned out before by watching a lot of seasonal anime so I hope I don't fall into that trap again. I did heard that the most recent season of Attack on Titan was pretty good so I might check it out soon. If you want to re-light that fiery passion like you said then I recommend watching Kimetsu no Yaiba. That's the one that got me back into anime. It's not a masterpiece but I thought it was pretty good. I guess it also helps that it was animated by ufotable.
Yep, did you hear Bring Back the Plague already? This album will be sooo amazing
Awesome. I'll give it a listen tomorrow when I take my sister to her Uni. I might have to give it another listen at home to fully appreciate it though. This sure has been a great year for metal so far.
Heyo, sorry if I took too long to respond. These first few weeks of uni have been hell.. I've already taken 3 tests and done 3 presentations so far and it hasn't even been a month since I started. I was also sick for a while on top of that. Anyways, hope you've been doing well.
That's pretty much where my money goes these days too. Gas, memberships, and Firehouse subs lol. I guess I've been saving money on my hobbies by watching anime instead by sailing the seven seas. It sucks how many of the anime that I want to watch are divided into several streaming services as exclusives..
Yeah I read somewhere that "All Out Life" was made to let people know that they weren’t gone and that they were still looking forward to working on new music. I felt the same way about Unsainted. I wasn't completely sold on it at first, but now it's probably one of my favorites, along with Solway Firth.
Maybe you already listened to it but the full song is out and it sounds AMAZING!! Only Travis Ryan can pull off "clean" vocals on a death/grind song. Now I'm really hyped for this album.
Damn, I'm really liking these new Opeth songs. I better give the full album a listen when it comes out. Might give "Watershed" a listen too in the meantime. I haven't listened to Opeth's whole discography so I can't relate to those fans who miss the screams/growls and want more of those, but the dude's singing voice is great, plus it seems like he can still scream/growl when he wants to.
I haven't been following Killswitch Engage much ever since Howard left, but I remember being excited about the new album when I learned that he would be in it. No disrespect towards Jesse, but Howard just has a really unique and recognizable voice, like you just knew it was Killswitch Engage when you heard him sing. That being said, I will give the album a listen since I'm sure Jesse and Howard working together would make for some great songs.
Yeah that was good....but for me my fav scene of balalaika is probably the second season's ep 3 where she confronts one of the twins....that scene really showed what she was capable of and it was lit...
yeah i watched the eps that are about the twins....and i gotta say....Balalaika is the boss man
another great character....and yeah it did feel like they were pushing the gore

Anyway do you think that rock and revy have potential as a couple?
