After this buildup episode, I hope Yona can choose her own path. I hope Hak won't die though and I think that fate can be avoided. Really curious to see her development in skills soon. |

| Slight change on OP clip (wasn't sure)? Living for granted just living in the castle. History of Shinkan... some of them even killed the king, so they felt bothersome. Childhood guy embarrassed and the princess is being dense. Prophecy of the dragons... to gather them and get the weapon to fight back. Just because she chose to live. So she heard about it as a mythology from her father. Miraculously lived until now was destined to come here? She decides to go find and fight. I wonder that guy who told the prophecy want them to help? |

| Another amazingly done ep. The "plot" is finally revealed. I wonder what anime viewers will think of the fantasy setting :3 Loved the YonaxHak interactions. Really fun. These 2 are made for each other XD and great seeing more and more Yona development. Wanting to become stronger :3 I love her so much <3 Her new out fits looks really nice in the PV ^^ |

| Learning more about the kingdom, how it came to be and why the priest was kicked out. Hak saying that he wants to die, felt like the moment was that good that he can be satisfied xD An attempt to kiss leading to a clash of their foreheads! Seeing Yona thanking the others and that "I want to live" was quite powerful. The four carrying the dragon blood that protected the king with the red hair. Now that is pretty interesting on who the four would be. For her to walk the path where she "lives". I liked the information given. |

| New updated opening sequence looked really good, and that OP is always good. Another faithful adaptation, and a wonderful episode. Again, nice job Pierrot. Yona and Hak are too precious. I just love them together. |

 This was another very well done episode. I'm really liking where this show is headed. Yona is learning more and more about the outside world and its problems while growing a little bit stronger and determined each day. If only she could chuck that hairpiece away!! I loved the scenes where Yona and Hak were alone especially when Hak tried to "check his temperature" with Yona. Heavy emphasis on "tried". And now we've got the introduction of the four dragons aka THE PLOT. All the future action scenes are now making a lot more sense. I can't wait for them to start their journey and encounter these bad asses. It's game time. |

| Well a good adaptation for Studio Pierrot as I always expected. This is a good episode (or two) with having "The Right Path" that Yona should take. And as the preview suggest it will be Yun and Ik-soo back story. Then. After that it will be the search for the Four "Legendary Dragon Warriors" (Which without much action stuff) Anyway this is a good episode I guess? |

| So its pretty obvious that she is the descendant of the Hiryuu (red dragon). But what I'm wondering is that, those four warriors, are they descendants of the warriors that protected Hiryuu or are they the same ones?? Anyways nice development. The history lesson was rather interesting, and it would be nice to know more of it. This show keeps meeting my expectations, and I'm rather glad, of a Reverse Harem, where the girl is actually strong minded, and wants to get strong physically. Hak is funny as always. Already in episode 8, I wonder if this show will be around 24 eps, or maybe even 39 ? THat would be cool. loved it. :) |

| And the harem thing has been set with this warriors and her obviously being the red dragon as is obvious by the hair and such. Not much of a great story really, the first episodes where better than this episodes and i think this anime gets ridiculous praise, it just isn't THAT great but is a decent anime. Some seem to praise it because is faithful to the manga and not based on how good or bad it is. Like mangas are written by God himself and can never be anything but perfect and following them means the show is a masterpiece no matter what. Although of course is mostly female users that praise so much since they seem to feel less social pressure on claiming their harem as absolutely awesome shit unlike how many males feel about their harems. Anyway, lets hope it will get on with this voyage episodes quickly because is getting slow and boring and then it will focus on the struggles and strategy and war of the protagonist to reclaim and change the kingdom instead of silly look-at-how-cool-i-am-while-i-flip-my-hair lines and dialogs from the bishounens. |

| Wow, nice episode! So we hear the story of the dragon god dudes, and Yona goes out to find them. It's pretty obvious that those are the guys in the OP animation :p I'm kinda annoyed by that because they showed us the character designs of characters who haven't made it in the series yet, but whatever. Although Hak isn't a dragon then, I guess :( Also the almost kiss was funny. "I thought you were coming closer to me so I could check your fever." lol Also, I thought that, based on the OP animation, Hak would die by getting hit by an arrow. However, if Hak can survive a poison arrow, a sliced open chest, and a fall off a cliff, then I don't think an arrow would kill him easily. Maybe he won't die after all! |

| There was a new opening I think. They didn't change the music, but the opening sequence was a lot better than before. I like the pacing of the anime. It gives good exposition but doesn't really feel slow nor does it feel rushed. EDIT: Also, that almost-kiss... I almost feel sorry for Hak. EDIT 2: On the other hand, some of the comedy felt out of place. |

| They handled the reveal of the plot very well, I really love the bgm in this series, fits the setting so perfectly. I enjoyed the whole storytelling sequence, it felt quite mystical. Looking forward to the start of their adventure looking for the dragons! Loved the scene when Hak tries to kiss Yona haha. Was always one of my favorite part in the manga. The changes in the OP were great too, makes it more exciting to watch. @Monad Well sure it's getting lots of praise but I don't think anyone has claimed yet that it's super great or anything (in comparison to other anime). People like it so they think it's great. There's some anime where people praise it a lot and I just roll my eyes at the comments but I don't think it's necessary to point that out. I think it's just for Akatsuki no Yona's case, there hasn't been a lot of vocal people who think this anime is meh in the discussions. It's got a fair amount of drops so far like other decent anime this season too, so there are people who don't think it's great. People do mention that the comedy is out of place or awkward, so it's not just praises. I think the main reason for the positive reactions is that although not the best story ever, it's been pretty solid so far, and that in itself might make people think it's good and at least have hope for a good story to come. Also, it will continue to go at a slow pace so if you think it's boring now, you could put in on hold and watch the episodes later instead of weekly, or you could give it a few more episodes and then decide to drop it. |

| Yona and Hak's interactions were great! Loved the scene where Hak goes for the tease, but Yona mistook it and their foreheads clashed. XD Priest lays out the foundation of the story with the fantasy legend. Pretty fascinating! It'll be interesting to see how she goes about getting them to join her side. Damnit Yona. Why don't you just throw away that hairpin? >.< I guess she still loves Su-won to an extent.. Good episode. I wonder what favor the priest could be asking them for.. |

| That headbutt. Ahhhh. XD I'm really enjoying the fantasy setting, though I wish she wasn't told she was Dragon Hero #2 right off the bat. Would've been nicer if someone had associated her with the legend later on instead when she has some achievements behind her. Aside from that, looks like the adventure is finally starting next episode! I really like how this series is an action and adventure(ish) high fantasy-shoujo. The budget is great, and likable characters. Came in with expectation and I think they were met. ^^ |

| Ahhh, so those people in the OP are motherfucking dragons??! I somehow doubt that they will offer that power freely thought. She'll probably have to earn it, to prove that she's worthy, or something like this. Damnit, Yona, you can be so passionate for a moment and the second later, be stupidier than a blonde joke. Hak going for a kiss, but immidiately rejected by a loud headbutt. Poor Hak, not only the dude who killed his crush dad still in advance on him, he's still pretty much in the brotherzone... I feel like he's gonna ask them to take him with them because he already foreshadowed his own death. That's what the OP seem to tell. |

| The MUSIC in this continues to impress me, esp that snippet used when the priest explained the 4 dragons. The comedy still comes off as corny at times, but definitely better in this episode. I like the pacing--nothing feels rushed now that we have 24 confirmed. These slower EPs agree with me. Some nice moments between Hak and Yona. |

I decided to keep with this show because I wanted to see the action of saving a kingdom (because y'know what, that actually sounds cool, even if I have to endure reverse harem bs for it), but no, we get an entire episode where they told us pretty much three things and threw in an almost-kiss to make it seem like something happened. Please, for the love of god, would it kill them to speed this show up a bit? |

Ah, I've read the translated chapters, and from the pace that the anime has set in adapting the manga, I believe that the action would pick up in about...four or five episodes from now. |

| Yona taking the place of the (typically male) clueless lead that can't tell when the (normally female) potential romantic partner is hitting on her was the best part of the episode. The creation myth lore was also quite interesting. So the actual plot will be finding the four dragons? That actually sounds pretty cool. These last two episodes have felt slower and less interesting overall IMO, but now that the plot has been revealed I think it'll get to where it once was. Only thing I really have to complain about so far is that the pacing is as slow as typical shoujo. Hopefully that'll pick up now. |
