Have you noticed how our anime went from Extremely high to just high? That's depressing.

yeah I discovered that I actually really like old mature shoujo, especially if it has complex symbolism. definitely not for everyone, you have to be really open-minded when you're watching it. not a lot of action or fast pace

Rose of Versailles absolutely shocked me, I mostly started it because the art looked ridiculous and too sparkly but somehow....I actually really loved all the sparkles and overly exaggerated expressions lol. I was actually not a huge fan of the ending but most of the episodes were good. I also really liked that it was very historically accurate, even some really small details. I was on the Wiki the entire time I was watching Rose of Versailles, learned a ton of stuff. the main female character of this anime has become my absolute favorite, Oscar. even if you hate shoujo, watch the anime just for her. you watch her grow up from somewhere around ~13 (I don't remember but it was young teens) to ~30s. the progress is amazing

Utena was pretty good as well, but it was very very different from Rose of Versailles. it took me a pretty long time to finish it because it's one of those series you really can't watch in one sitting. (I took like a month lol) there's a BUTTLOAD of symbolism so watching it 2 times would be best. (however, I rarely rewatch anime so I don't think I will for Utena) there were many ridiculous episodes that just confuse you but it fits somehow with Utena. the last 1/3 of it was my favorite, it completely changed from the happy mood. there's also a ton of twists about the characters and the plot


Penguindrum was....interesting. I think it's the first time I enjoyed the beginning and middle episodes of the plot more than the ending episodes. (although that's me, some people like the ending) it is definitely worth a watch, the art and soundtrack is really beautiful. I think my favorite part of it was the characters, it was really hard to decide who I liked the best. the plot was very unique as well


I actually haven't been watching that much anime lately, mostly just adding to my to-watch list over the summer. it must be painful for some people to see how many current watching anime I have...and some of those I'm really far into lol. my bad habit of starting new anime when I'm already watching a ton

Sorry I haven't replied! I've been meaning too. The first part of the year I was sick. I just got over it a few days ago. There is still some I want to watch between summer 2014 and fall 2014. I don't have anything I want to watch this season for the most part. So I think I'll try and watch a few that have already aired, or read some manga. :)

Which Winter 2015 anime titles I'm looking forward to the most? Well if I had to choose I would pick Tokyo goul season 2, Kuroko no Basket 3, Aldnoah.Zero 2nd Season ... but since the season has already begun I'll tell those who I began to see , so Juuou Mujin no Fafnir, Seiken Tsukai no World Break, Dog Days Season 3, Shinmai Maou no Testament, Absolute Duo, ...

And you ?? what do you think of this winter season ??

Well, there's not much to look forward for me this season, but I'm a fansubber and will sub "Shinmai Maou no Keyakusha" and "Juuou Mujin no Fafnir" in german =3
Maybe I'll look into some anime, but I don't watch much anime currently.

oh god I'm so glad you watched NGE! Shinji is on my top 3 favorite characters for sure. I have no clue why so many people dislike him since he's a pretty realistic character. he's probably the most relatable character for me and I'm pretty much a female version of him lol


Shinsekai yori was....unique. I really did enjoy it but I have no idea how to describe it. many disliked the art but I actually loved it a lot (however some episodes were wonky and the art changed for the worse). the characters were very likable and I was actually tempted to add one of them to my favorite characters list. I also have to mention there's some time skips which I actually hate but they handled it pretty well. the time and place where the anime takes is very different from ours so the relationship between the characters is strange but I found it nice for a change. (there's some yuri and yaoi which turned many people off but I hope you don't mind that because the anime is good)

Oyasumi Punpun is good so far and completely something new compared to the manga I already read. I'm not even half way done so I can't tell you that much about it

I also watched Psycho Pass recently and liked it a lot as well. I am debating on whether I should watch the second one or not because it seems like it disappointed many people. I don't want Psycho Pass ruined for me so I might not watch the second season

I am looking forward to a few of them:
Absolute Duo - I just finished Grisaia no Kajitsu which was by them, and I hope this will be as good.
Shinmai Maou no Testament - They did Inari, Konkon. I loved that show, also can't go wrong with some ecchi on my list, right?!
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata - A-1 Pictures made some of my favorite shows. Anohana/Sora no Woto/Idolm@ster.
Death Parade - Its Madhouse. That is all.
Military! - It looks like a cute short. If its ends up being a flop, no harm done.
