| The best summation of my opinion of this show is that I would have dropped it a few episodes ago if it weren't a fifth and final season. I'm not going to heap blame on the mangaka; I'll heap it on the editors where it is more likely deserved. I'm sure the author was milked by the corporation, rushed in his production, and then they have the temerity to publish the subpar work as a cash grab. It's possible he just gave up, but considering he made good material at one point I'd like to think he still could were he actually given the time and attention necessary for him to do so. I also blame J.C. Staff's producers for choosing to animate something so ridiculous. At least they didn't waste their money by giving it a budget. |

| Mine expectations were low but holy fuck. Do we need to introduce chefs that have unique style of cooking?Do we need characters with motivations? Yes.The Esdeath rip-off is gonna cook with a chainsaw,a sledge-hammer and a dynamite. Um,but why these weapons are used??Do they serve any purpose?Are they gonna enhance the ingredients? No,but our antagonist needs to be cool.They may not serve any purpose but they make people go WTF. Shokugeki was always over the top with its foodgasms but they always explained the dish, method of cooking and how it's made.The gave minute information about how a single ingredient can influence an entire dish. But now, it's some battle shounen parody.Introduce quirky eccentric flat characters with over the top cooking with weapons.I can't take anything seriously anymore. Asahi introduces himself as the leader of Noir. Esdeath rip-off goes,"I am gonna defeat you just like Asahi". Souma goes,"You know Asahi?How do you know him?". Is this some kind of meta joke.It made me laugh for a while. |

| I have to say, I'm really liking the former first seat being in the competition. Even when things are getting wild he brings a level headiness and calm with him. In this all out war with the underworld folks, as wild as it gets, I think battling and knowing Souma has helped everyone come to this point. Damn did they leave the eps on a cliffhanger! |

| SoMeHoW she can, he can, they can... Somehow I am still watching. This episode is a perfect example for a show that constantly tries to top itself in order to keep going. Now we are at chainsaws, sucktion pumps and cooking balls. The way they highlighted cooking utensils before was already unnecessary and only made sense once with Mimasaka Subaru's arc. |

| Manga readers weren't joking when they said the series goes to some weird places this arc. But the sight of a chef using a bomb to cook a cake is just so ridiculous that it just makes the show funnier and better to me. Seems like a parody od cooking anime now. Well, at least it is still managing to keep me hyped up. |

Looks like the chainsaw killer became a full fledged terrorist in the second half, cooking with explosions. Most ridiculous episode of the season by far. The finished dishes look good. I give credits for that. |
| Ok, I was liking this arc but: 1. Oh God, we are back with the shokugekis. 2. I know this show had some absurd things but this episode goes beyond ridiculous... Jesus! And I want to highlight something that Soma said, he said he only learned the basics about cakes in class. And I wonder, is it even necessary for them to go to school? They're at a point where they're pulling dishes out of their asses, the power scale is ridiculous xD. Nice to see Nikumi tho. |

| Alright, I saw the chainsaw in the ED and thought that it'll be used on something large like filleting a goddamn whale or something. But the I saw Sarge using it to season a lump of cooked meat, and then to whisk afterwards. Putting aside how ridiculous it is, holy shit imagine the amount of cleaning she has to do, considering how she needs to make it sterile every single time since she is using the same chainsaw (albeit with a different set of chains) to handle her dishes. Would have loved to see them battling it out to pass the meat challenge, unfortunately, it's skipped over... Welp, it's time to get to the main and real matches, a ladder tournament to victory. This is kinda what I've been wanting from Souma for a while now, for him to showcase his skills on unfamiliar territory, creating exotic disk (in this case, a Christmas cake) whilst still using some of his more traditional styles. The fact that Sagre was insulted at Souma for comparing her beloved chainsaw with his store-bought ice-cream wooden spoon is hilarious. Watch and learn. The OST in this ep is exceptionally wonderful |

| My brain was weeping on the inside seeing Sarge use a FUCKING CHAINSAW AND EXPLOSIVES to BAKE A CAKE. If this is supposed to be funny and entertaining, it was not I can safely say that. The stupidest episode probably I've seen in my entire life. But hey, at least this is the first time seeing Soma actually bake in this entire series. Even though the show didn't show much of his cooking due to pacing, at least its something right? |
