Another Granbelm for Mangetsu!

This conflict against Ji Guan Long seems to be a tough challenge to overcome. Nene's role in this show/episode is also becoming more relevant. I'm starting to get more and more interested in this anime with its cast of characters.

Favorite episode so far, so much character building in one episode and none of it feels like a drag or like it takes away from the action.

So they continued from where they left off from the previous episode. Looks like Mangetsu found herself another ally. Overall a good episode. Loving the ED song.

I expected nothing from an anime which looks like Fate + Madoka + Mecha, but I am really starting to like this show. It is still no 8, but a decent 7 at least.

These episodes flow so nicely and they go by way too fast. Really enjoying the way the characters IRL lives are weaving around each other and how they interact.

Also, Anna being able to boil her bath water with her rage is pretty damn cool.

Well First intense minutes of the chapter in the real battle besides that nene complicated things for shingetsu, mangetsu and others until I finish in a draw.
But there were also some problematic details, Mangetsu revealed to have some kind of magic ESP that lets her detect and dodge attacks and then that's dropped and forgotten. They do this whole magical proof thing to verify Nene isn't a mage, then in the very next scene, she comes out and tells them she is. Maybe they'll pick some of those threads up later.

Nene is good at hiding, but Suishou and the other chinese girl was able to find her armanox. Funny when Nene was spying on Mangetsu house. Yeah, you need some courage when three enemies are around. xD

Suishou is actually scary..

they should just defeat Anna. Her constant screaming is starting to get annoying. ><
why do the little sister likes Shingetsu so much?

looking forward to next week!! :)

So Nene unleashes this huge disco ball laser that fires multiple beams!

OF course someone tracked her location and she had to go running. But the next battle she'll be prepared I'm sure.
So excited!

Really liking the character building on this anime, we've been getting their background stories and details that may point out to something really big. (I may be really late on this, but I noticed that most of the Granbelm girls have a hair clip that defines them. Kuon having this flower~ish hair clip, Mangetsu having a full moon hair clip and Shingetsu having the half moon hair clip) The scenery is still a blast and so is the soundtrack.

And Damn, that cliffhanger, It got me those Planet With vibes when the whole squad Ganked Souya and decided they ain't having that shit. I already knew that the Kuon Alliance was going to be conflicted giving how Nene successfully spied on them, but then Nene appears and reveals herself outta nowhere, I really didn't expect it, I wonder how things are going to play out, this is going to be really interesting, can't wait for next week!

No. The deception worked. And then they turned around and ditched that in the very next scene. The only thing it contributed to was the run time.

I don't know, that's a rather pessimistic way of viewing it. It leaves you with a cliffhanger, and while it could be just bad writing that Nene makes such a galaxy-brained move as to reveal herself when she just went through the effort of spying on them without being detected, it could also be something actually worthwhile, we just don't know yet. Please don't be such a downer about this; I'm sure nobody watching this wants the show to end up like Egao no Daika, so let's all just be patient.

Wow Kuon's speed really is quite impressive both offensively and defensively. Yep Anna's main motivation is jealousy. The beam attacks though were quite interesting in the way that they improved. Nene though sure had a close shave thanks to her staying in one location. Looks like Suishou's desire for battle is stronger than obeying her liege. Looks like beneath her teasing nature is another self entirely. Kuon's offer to join forces sure was an unexpected move. Goes to show just how much of a threat that AOE attack of Rins is. Overall an interesting ep that did well in expanding upon the characters of Rin and Suishou while introducing formally the character of Kuon. At the same time we also got to see the kind of tactics that can be used in this battle on account of Nene's spying. Now that Nene's come out and declared her identity im curious to what will happen next.

that would be nice. Nene does not seem to be a bad person at all, just want to do something for her mom.

although if she gains allies, that would make her overpowered? Her armanox is already a threat even when alone, it might be unstoppable if there are two or three more mechs protecting it.

Nene's laser beams are pretty lethal. It's impressive to see how that attack can cover such a large radius of the battlefield so quickly. However, her position was uncovered and it got all hectic before the moon went down and the end of the battle was reached.

It's a bit tricky to predict who will be the next girl to be eliminated from Granbelm. Anna's powerful, but her rotten attitude towards Shingetsu makes me want to see her eliminated next. Suishou already has a habit of being invisible for the majority of the episode, but when she does decide to attack, her attacks have been accurate as of late and that reaction of hers after she pinned Kuon into the ground before the end of the battle does show that she's powerful. She's another one to watch out for.

Kuon wants to team up with Shingetsu and Mangetsu in order to take out the Ji Guan Long, piloted by Nene. It'll be interesting to see if their plan will work or not, but I'm sure the next time all of the girls battle, someone will be eliminated.

All in all, this was another good episode. =)

Huh, this episode was... interesting, to say the least. More character building, but not enough to satisfy my hunger, just enough to whet the appetite and leave me wanting more. More intense mecha fights, always welcome with a nice side of stakes-building, which we're slowly getting bit by bit. I'm worried it might be a bit too slow, but hey, maybe they're going to go from the current 10mph to 90 in one episode pretty soon, I have no clue. That's part of the magic of originals: no one besides the writers has any real clue as to what's going to happen next! Also, the 6.2 rating (which has gone down through two weeks from 6.25) is a load of bull don't @ me.

Dang Anna is just full of anger that she lost focus on being attacked by other Armanox. She really needs to let go of her one-track mind on Shingetsu. Judging by the way they're aligning themselves, later on there can only be one Princep but the title states 2 Princeps. Feels like Naruto with Sage of Six Paths.

I don’t think I have a firm grip on everything that’s going on just yet but another fairly enjoyable episode.

I’m calling it, the blue-haired mage is totally fishy and up to no good. Aside from the question of how she figured out Nene’s position and even went on to dominate against the white-haired mage, what’d she do there to Anna with that “Smiles” command? Is she, by any chance, behind the rift between Shingetsu and Anna? Some kind of a low-class family being thwarted by the uppers and her familial rage resulting in this wicked form of hers or something of the sort, is my take on this.

Anyway, we got more of Nene this episode. A permanent middle-schooler thanks to her mother being a mage and thus the mage curse but I feel like there’s more to the mother’s case. What was with those rings though, can’t recall seeing it before. By the way, that revelation out of the blue. Where’d that come from, surely not from Shingetsu’s words there right?

On the other hand, the white-haired girl is looking to finish off Nene and goes on to make a temporary alliance with Shingetsu and Mangetsu. Looks like things are picking up again and by the looks of next episode, we’ll probably be seeing one mage out. As such, looking forward to seeing how that goes!

I was chocked even a bit repulsed by the share among of violence in this episode ,,,, And the redhead psychopath was total enrage!! And so far in her psychosis that foam was coming from her mouth!!!!!

And anime its not going to work,, Cant enjoy the cute moment when we having this brutal savage primal over the top garbage violence ,, its to much .... Then the psychopath even manage to chock me again!!! By raising her hand against a family member!!Only for disagreeing with her! And it was quite obviously that the other female have been beaten and abuse by the redheaded demon in the past!!!!

This is the worst episode i have seem in summer seasonal and i have witness heterosexuality!!!!But still this was ugly and dark and extremely violent ,,,,This is Yuri bait ,,Anime you have no right using the Lily in this,, That makes me very angry!!!!,, You have 1/10 I'm going to do my first review about you anime,,,I see your misuse off Yuri symbols as a war declaration!! So far there is some kind of soft poetry in Granbelm. Gentle, subtle, a bit sad. I think this is main forte of this anime.
I don't understand at all - as it happens sadly often - why such a low score. Please be underknown, but don't be underrated -_- .

Sadly this site seems to have a lot of users who don't like mecha, and since for some reason MAL didn't tag it as mecha + the fact that the synopsis really doesn't tell you anything about premise, a lot of people dropped it after the first ep and left low scores cuz of the mecha.

This is getting pretty interesting!
They've done a good job of fleshing out the main cast so far I feel. The character building each episode is rather packed (understandably so--there's a lot of characters that need development here), but it all feels natural. I'm looking forward to seeing where this story goes in the next 8 episodes--and I'm hoping there's some decent twists coming so it doesn't end up being too cliché (if there is one critique I can give this show, it's that it does feel like an odd mishmash of genre tropes and ideas from other, successful shows. Dunno if it has its own legs yet).

I feel like this could very well be the type of show that's deceptively dark though, or at least, the type to start off light-hearted but eventually get more dark and serious as the plot progresses.

Oh and the OP/ED are really growing on me damn.
The main girls are all so cute in the ED. Even the screechy "REEEE" one!

I wouldn't be too worried about this as a plot detail to be honest. I get the feeling she just didn't want to get detected in the act of spying, but needed to take the chance in revealing herself in order to...well, we'll find out. Since she acted after that flashback with her mom telling her to hide the fact that she's a mage, maybe it's as simple as her not wanting go down whatever path her family did.

Whatever it turns out to be, it's not 'bad writing' since her actions before and after the flashback were connected to it directly. Looking at her face right before she steps out to reveal herself, it was obviously some kind of dilemma for her.

The battle that started the previous episode continues and Nene and her Armanox showed a powerful attack.
I think Anna just hates Shingetsu because she stole the attention of the family and her close ones, which seems quite immature.

Suishou keeps giving me a bad feeling, personally she seems like a hypocrite and I wouldn't be surprised if she betrayed Anna at some point, the way she managed to stop the new girl surprised me, more reason to not trust her.
Time is up and darkness devours all the girls and Mangetsu wakes up next to Shingetsu who sleeps by his side, but what left me curious was that Shingetsu cried while apologizing to Anna in her dream, I really need to know what happened between Anna and Shingetsu.

At last we know what the new girl is called, Kuon seems to want as wish to help her older sister, who I suppose participated in the Granbelm before and ended up in that state.

Nene spy was too funny, but Kibou discovered her easily, but this helped her to infiltrate and discover that Kuon wants to ally with Shingetsu and Mangetsu to defeat her, I laughed a lot when Shingetsu discovered her and Nene saved her identity thanks to her talisman.

Mangetsu is too pure, she still wants to stay with Shingetsu even though at some point they will have to fight each other, I hope that the friendship they are building does not crumble for some reason.

Wow ... Nene revealed that she is a descendant of a sorceress to Shingetsu and Mangetsu, it will be that she wants to form an alliance too or she will give her declaration of war to both girls.
The preview of the next episode promises a good fight, although that image with Nene crying left me worried, besides that final image with Mangetsu with her eyes with that strange design, what is the reason?

At this point Anna is a major bitch.

Not to mention apparently her teammate is also a bitch, did you see that disguising smirk during the fight? YIKS

Interesting, all the other mages are kinda more on the nice side. They should all Team up and get rid of the Toxic team and have a better rivalry fight instead of having edgy powerhungy bitches.

Still not sure about this series, since we know they have some sort of reasons to battle, but they don't say exactly how fighting will solve their issues...

so yea... guess this is just a anime based on BR, Last Mage Standing type of thing.

There is BUT ONLY ONE formula in Granbelm: Character development is the key to the story/plot, and this subplot still feels very empty with this episode with lots of questions unanswered.

But part of that question is answered when the new girl, Kuon, raises the possibility of allying, which could be a key factor in Granbelm, breaking its law of battle royale to be the last one standing.

And as usual, Mangetsu still is oblivious, but is slowly carving her way into the foray. And she could well be the game-changer, but that result just isn't clear for now.

And the thought of Nene having to raise herself under extreme conditions of her family, and having such a power, it's no surprise that her participation in Granbelm is severely warranted.

OK episode, but somehow I get that feeling that there's more in store that could get better. Hoping for more.

Good episode I recognize that this anime has great animation, and the action scenes are great 👌.
According to what Kuon said, if Mangetsu is a new magician, then there should be 8 magicians, since the founding magicians were 7, that means that a participant in Granbelm is missing. I am intrigued.
On the other hand, I feel sorry for Nene. 3 vs. 1. It is true that his Armanox is strong with his attack of ranged rays, but melee has all the disadvantage. I think it will be the next one eliminated, it's a shame. They should unite to beat Anna's crazy.
Now, I think Mangetsu is very optimistic, which is good and bad at the same time. Even if she says no, sooner or later she will have to face Shingetsu.

PS: My favorite Armanox is "Setsika Baika" by Kuon. And my favorite magician is Ernesta, obviously 😁.

I'm sorry to say that I'll be dropping this show...

I just find myself having a hard time trying to keep my interest in this show... whatever new details about the other girls is okay but I just honestly don't care for any of these characters.
And there are a couple of times during the Granbelm scenes where I can't figure out what's going on for a few seconds. I literally cannot remember any of the names of the Armonoxes unless it's the main character's (White Lily), and while the Armonoxes are colorful, I have a hard time trying to distinguish White Lily from the new white Armonox that showed up last episode.

I do appreciate the character development going on, but there are other anime that do character development and feel more interesting/fulfilling for me.

Not hating on anyone who likes this show, of course.
There is some obvious charm here, but it doesn't seem to be enough to charm me for some reason.

The Granbelm continues. Mangetsu and Shingetsu gain an unexpected new ally in their struggle to obtain victory while Nene steels her resolve and pride as a mage. Unfortunately, we still don't get any meaningful progression in Shingetsu and Anna's subplot. We don't know what really happened: for all we know, the incident between them could be much worse than initially thought or not nearly as bad. The next episode will probably continue the battle and hopefully, there will be plenty of action and character moments.

I really want to like this show, I really do, but the problem is everything is happening too fast. Not plot, but characters. I barely know who anyone is. The show is infinitely more interesting in the real world compared to the fighting scenes because we can actually tell what's happening. This whole show just feels like wasted potential. That being said, the second half of this episode does give some character development to a girl named Nene, although not much really, but it kind of shows that she exists at least. I feel like this show would be a lot better upon second viewing after you know who everyone is, because right now I'm still a little lost.

I still have a hard time with the characters and world building. I still don't fully understand everything, and the characters still are way too cliché despite the development provided. Mangetsu and Shingetsu in particular keep being more and more predictable. At first I was intrigued when Mangetsu told Shingetsu she didn't know if she would fight her or not (consequently saying there's a possibility she would), but then she added that she's sure they won't have to.
But I'm sure they'll have to anyway, and I still don't have a clear idea of how Mangetsu's gonna react, so I'm still pretty interested. After all, if Mangetsu fights for Shingetsu's wish to be granted, it is definitely complicating things.
Nene's personality is still not one I'm super fond of, however her being an adult in a child's body due to her mage heritage is interesting.
Aoi Yuki's character, whose name I forgot again despite having paid attention, intrigues me. She is quite frightening, she is the only one who doesn't seem to follow a particular archetype and I like that.
Anna keeps being pretty interesting however I hope they'll develop her outside of her rage. She has the potential to be a good character.
The white-haired one whose name I also forgot still doesn't catch my interest, however this alliance can lead to interesting things.
Overall I'm not sold on yet, however I'm willing to give this show a chance, it has some good ideas.
