The hotel was literally next to Ueno Park, about north of downtown.

Yeah but it would be way too crowded with annoying tourists. Meiji was at least crowded but I could handle it. It's all about the not so popular destinations that are the hidden gems.

I stayed at a ryokan hotel that was pretty cheap but nice.

I went to the Meiji Shrine, which was pretty cool. Asakusa is a big giant tourist trap, so I didn't go to that one.

The circumstances of my meeting with the idol involved a fan event that involved a bus tour, during which we traveled down to Ito to do a photoshoot at some house. But we also did a few cool events and ate along the way, so it was fun. I also went to a Blu-Ray signing event and her apartment to celebrate her 13th anniversary in the industry. So yeah, that was great. :)
