Sanosuke is rather inspirational this season imo. Never stops working hard and eager to prove himself even it hurts him physically. It's still early but feels like they fleshed out his character better so far than previous season. Especially after seeing what monk can do, he tries to learn that ability himself.

He also remembers all the good times he had with his friends too. Just a hell of a self motivation episode for Sanosuke.

They all are on their way to Kyoto, we know, and yeah they all are through various means, and they’d all reach there eventually, except Sanosuke lol. I mean the way things are going, it does feel like we’ll be over with this whole Kyoto arc and still would see Sano thinking which way to take… to reach Kyoto xD Btw, good to have focus on him for the time being tbh. He’s a good guy and genuinely wants to train, so yeah, this journey isn’t just about him reaching the destination but also about him training himself to the fullest and proving himself to everyone.

Anji made his appearance, and yeah man seems like he has a LOT of patience, but I don’t think people who have patience actually ever put a condition like, do this or I’d kill you if you fail, lol. Works for Sano though, after all he wants to learn things fast. Liked this mini training arc, and how Sano pulled an Undertaker. That hand looks done for though lol, but yeah it'll get better. Maybe two-three more epsiodes before we see all of the Juppongatana assemble together.

Got two characters this season that love to get lost, with Ryouga from Ranma and now Sano here lmao. Kinda forgot that he spent half the arc just wandering. Poor Sano's been having it rough though. Dude's on his last bun and he dropped it on the floor lol. Five second rule never hurt anybody though. But it did bring him to a certain person thanks to it.

But it wouldn't really be a shounen without a quick little training arc, now would it? What I do like about this training arc is that it's short and to the point. It's not half an arc, nor is it half an episode. Just one full episode to show Sano's resolve. Obviously it's not as easy as just a backstory or some speech like in usual shounen, here it's about accepting why your even doing this in the first place. Sano pushed past his limits, and fucking obliterated that rock like A CHAMP.

Anji was such a great character for Sano's growth, which makes it all the more sadder to know he's one of the Juppon Gatana :(

And so, the stage is set... for the turmoil of Kyoto.

It it bad to say Sano is my favorite character in the series by far? He feels normal compared to everyone else who wields swords and has omega strength. I really like his reasoning for what he does

I loved so much it. I got my 2 nodes on left hand hurt - for some time - for doing a diferent style of push up that i dont know how to say in english, was awesome seeing the same situation on the anime. I danced a lot the intro and, also, thinking about dancing with a girl this intro on future. :) Thanks so much the team of this anime for this pleasure after all days of responsability. Is awesome to keep motivated and bearing the way. My mom came ino bedroom to ask me to take pills for my reaction on the OP XD Love how u guys made Sanosuke on this styory, always positive and confident about his goals.

I can't believe the Monk's VA is the same actor who voices Jujutsu Kaisen's Haruta Shigemo. 🤯 What a difference.

We get a nice Sanosuke training episode! One final prelude before things shift over to Kyoto properly. Sanosuke and his horrible sense of direction have gotten him stranded in the middle of the woods. With no food left and no idea which way to go. Even in his random walking around luckily he's found someone else in the middle of the forest. A fallen Buddhist monk who can pulverize whole rocks to dust. Sanosuke after his meager fight against Saito back in Tokyo needs some new strength to be able to help Kenshin. Its noble seeing how Sanosuke character has grown and now wants to repay Kenshin the kindness he's shown him. Sanosuke learning this secret technique from the monk about how to make greater impacts. We really see Sanosuke determination and spirit in this episode. Showing his battered and busted open hand throughout the episode. How close he was to dying to the point of seeing his long dead captain hallucinate in front of him. It was satisfying seeing Sanosuke keep his vow of mastering the technique in just one week instead of a month. Smashing that big boulder to smithereens. Now making his own way to Kyoto. I was very surprised seeing the monk is one of Shishio men he summoned. The fight between these two later will be incredible

Well Sanosuke learnt something big from the random fallen monk he met on his lost path. But to think its actually the place where his captain met his demise, kinda gives such a good feeling in the end. Even though right before the episode over, the fallen monk actually tied a connection with Shishio kinda gives some worry. I can't wait to see what lies beyond the Kyoto disturbance. Arrival in Kyoto next....

Damn this was a dope episode and it’s cool to see Sanosuke getting some closure on his past and letting that pain go. It’s kinda like he became his own man finally in this episode when he rejects the captain’s order. Proud of my boy, def one of my fave character arcs.

Didn’t see the twist coming with the mink being one of the 10 swords though. That’s gonna make any future fight with them a lot more emotional and give it some real narrative weight. Can’t wait for this to get going

They sure went far and beyond to make Sanosuke's hand look as nasty and terrible as possible. Great job!

5/5 episode once again. Anji is an awesome character and probably the most easy to sympathize with from Shishio's group. Looking forward to seeing him again later on in the arc.

Great Sanosuke focused episode, bro has been lost all this time but found himself in the process if that makes any sense lol. That was some damn brutal training to do in a week tho, Sanosuke’s hand looked absolutely fucked, I don’t know how you could even focus on timing that punch with all that pain, but thanks to the literal ghost of that captain and Sanosuke’s bullheadedness, he managed to learn the move before that fallen monk Anji was supposed to kill him, it was funny how he got written off as dead so fast tho lol.

But man, wasn’t expecting Anji to be one of Shishio’s “Ten Swords”, I shoulda known since he had such a striking design, but I guess this means Anji and Sanosuke may eventually throwdown, sad but I’m excited to see it.

Sano's adventures in the forests of japan lol. A fallen monk sure is a odd person to meet though. Sano's boasts sometimes do go too far though. It was fun seeing Sano get lectured by his former captain. Still gotta hand it to Sano in that he managed to achieve something that normally would take years in a week. Irony that his one time friend would be an enemy the next time they meet.

sano thought 3 second rule and ate the muddy bun
he's chosen the path of a brawler, he can't become a swordsman like Kenshin or Saito now.
must've been fate that he wandered back to where the Sekihotai ended, his vision of the captain had given him the resolve he needed to learn the technique by the end.
Without knowing Anji is a member of the 10 swords.

And there it is, the moment Sanosuke became the biggest bro in shonen story.
Bro did all of this to become stronger, to help and protect Kenshin, what a legend.
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

Of course the OG bro is out there wandering in the forest. At least have directions before you make a journey across the country XD out there losing his good for no reason. Rip losing your rations to a monk shaking the ground tho. At least they get a dinner date (no, not literally).

Welp, even if he is a fallen monk I suppose he's trying to better himself. Suppose there is that bit of history with Buddhism in Japan. He's teaching our bro the secret to rock breaking o_o monk man knows his punching technique. Even if there's a hint of a threat behind learning it. The art of punching has its charm, even in a world where guns are the newest thing.

Respect the commitment to the cram week training. Feel like he'd be punching even if his hand completely fell off.. which prob wouldn't help in Tokyo but you know. He's even out there hallucinating people. Respect his desire to protect his friends. And he learned the technique in a week as promised, wow.

Maybe the monk will come around again to fight. Would be nice for them all to fight side by side.
