Hi I'm Ricky.
I saw you started watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 , where did you watch it? I mean from Episode 2 there was no audio , lagging glitches problems & I even tried to watch it in Crunchyroll but they no longer have the license to keep it in their Library. I would be happy if you could share me your source.
Thanks.

I just saw your Iruma S3 review and wanted to point out that the arc ended with the last episode (#17). I agree that this is the worst arc in the series by far, and it has also become the longest one as well.

It been a while that I had watched Bleach and DBZ,I thought they had terrible pacing or even worse. From what I read the Frieza Saga was dragged for too long. And Bleach started suffering after the soul society arc,I do remember the filler vampire arc 10+ years ago i watched, and it was horrendous. In general shonens tend to have generic formulas. Bleach having indefinitely repeated linear story telling, while One Piece having the most formulaic story that can be predictable. But the plot comes together, even characters and arcs from before still have purposes from the One Piece world. The world build, goals, and bloated amount of characters keeps me curious and question how Oda will write and put everything in advance. He even planned things 400-900+ of chapters ahead with foreshadows and references of people I just noticed when I started reading the manga from the beginning.
I can't say much for Naruto since my memory is foggy, but I can say that Boruto is godawful, due to the fact that it's released 1 chapter/month. So it is filled with abundance amount of fillers. Boruto is an anime that you don't need to know ANYTHING about the predecessors anime, while all the side characters are pointless.

Brace yourself for Dressrosa and Whole cake island, I was even a victim of needing to put the series on hold as I kept watching Dressrosa weekly, back then I never even understood what pacing was nor did I had much variety of animes watched. So I just wanted to wait and binge Dressrosa instead. And as time goes on, I was 350 episodes behind, only started watching because of the new female character I showed before, and possibly a new candidate for joining the crew, so I was hyped. Whole cake is what I easily recall since its recent, its very stretched out, you'll hear the same dialogue for MAYBE 10-20 episodes, if I remember correctly? But it did feel rewarding after the grind when I saw the fight at 870.(personally) And the antagonist was very very cool with design, power and personality.

I will say that in Wano, in the anime there are some characters that are given way more elevation and depth, whereas the manga doesn't have, because its too bloated with many characters, so Oda did not have the time to show their story nor personalities. At the same time there is a character that has way better presence in the manga, but ruined and disrespected in the anime. Wano has a lot of goated episodes many of them are the highest rated actually, while at the same time, we even got a lot of bad episodes, that some managed to rank at the top 10 worst of all time.

Because the anime is not far away from the current chapter, and it takes months and months to animate everything, since its all done by frame after frame. So filler scenes and flashbacks are a time saver for them. However, 980 (except 982 is a goated episode) is when things start to HORRENDOUSLY adapt for only half the chapter for 20 or more episodes, then goes back to adapting 3/4. And then full for great episodes like 1015, and 1017. Then goes back to half lol. While they really need to elevate roof piece animation for important scenes, since they are very expensive, difficult to make and time consuming.

Currently its Episode 1028, adapted chapter 1010. There are 1056 chapters in total. Luffys new power-up won't be animated until next year lol. Which I have beyond high expectations for it hoping it does not get ruined with stupid Auras, and adapt things the same way as the manga did.

It's very difficult being an anime only with these spoilers, especially the newest movie, Film Red, spoils things that manga readers never even knew about, way ahead of the latest chapter.

Yeah that's why i'm not a fan of Brook at all, he repeats the same jokes, you're not at the post-timeskip yet, but I used to like Franky before the post-timeskip, but now his design looks godawful, and his personality feels like a huge downgrade. Everyone goes crazy for Zoro, but for me its Sanji > Zoro.

Dressrosa is probably by far the most controversial arc in the post-timeskip. The animation and pacing took a huge dive, BUT others would argue that it has some good flashback stories, and Doflamingo being liked for his design and antagonist as a whole.

Toei is very bad at consistency, that's what happens when you have multiple different teams needing to constantly work on new episodes. Wano does have scenes that are really flashy with crazy animation, but for manga readers they are disappointing because they weren't adapted right, and the extra filler fight scenes and attacks added in made it a huge mistake. Examples are: Episode 914,915, and 1027. Having DBZ soundeffects are weird, and then we got Toei doing this....

At the moment, i'm simping for Yamato.

Did people that influence you made you want to dedicate to catching up to One Piece? Or were you doing this for yourself to give an incite and better perspective of things to give your take to the community?
