| @Zwilicht Same. I liked the first season but the movie after was just mediocre. Honestly I don't remember a lot about the show, it's pretty forgettable except for a few scenes. I hope we'll get to see something interesting and get rid of the kid as fast as possible. |

Goblin Slayer is back, this time animated by Lidenfilms.
I hope for a good production, cause season 1 was lacking at times.
So far it seems they are adapting volume 6, let's hope they properly adapt the story this time, instead of changing the order of the events like they did in S1.

| @MadanielFL do you believe they changed the order cuz it got too repetitive. I have read comments from how ln readers who read up to vol 6 say the author struggles to get the word count and the same formula applies and not really expand the story. I will still be watching regardless. |
| Should have given the series to lidenfilms from the start. It's true to the source art quality rn. Someone get that red head kid a solo goblin quest since he wants it so much. He will likely die but hey he gets to reflect on his life choices in his final moments. |

| I guess the audience needed a re-introduction to all of the characters after 5 years. I re-watched the first season and the movie right before this, so it was all fresh in my mind and it made this episode feel slow in comparison. We'll see how it all goes from here. Also lol:  |

| I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the goblin slaying lad is back! I actually rewatched Season 1 in August for the first time since I originally watched it weekly back in Fall 2018, and I watched the movie which I hadn’t seen yet after, and it feels very good to be back with this new season! LIDENFILMS is doing it this time and so far it looks really good, the art and animation are very nice, only thing I’m not sold on yet is the slightly different art style, it also looked grittier before imo but maybe that’s because we haven’t gotten into a gritty situation yet, so we’ll have to wait and see there, but otherwise I’m very happy with what they’ve done. And the plot this time focusing on a wizard boy who looks a lot like the mage girl who died at the beginning of the first season is interesting, I’m betting he’s related to her somehow but he does have a very nasty attitude so far, I’m sure he’s gonna find out quick how wrong he is lol. And it’s also just feels so good seeing the gang together again, it’s like they never left honestly, as well as cow girl, guild girl and the other adventures of the guild, missed all these characters. And we got another OP by mili and boy it’s good, I’m a big fan already, the ED was good too but I wish they could have gone with a darker theme to the visuals like Season 1 did, but this could also reflect how the Goblin Slayer himself is in a better place than he was before, so I’m a bit conflicted on it but I will say it’s a very good song and the waifu centric visuals are nice. And with that, we’re officially in Season 2 of Goblin Slayer, I’m very excited for the rest! |
| I saw that one coming a mile away, now how will Priestess adjust to adventuring with someone else other than Goblin Slayer and the gang? I'm soooo happy this series is back, and I guess they picked up where the movie left off :D |

| It is a bit "funny" to have that intro because besides that part, at least as an anime watcher only, the show has been surprisingly tame with the dark topics, the only violence is towards goblins but better safe than sorry and not have people whining later. And man, fuck that kid, so annoying, I shouldn't but kinda want him to die already by some goblins. |

| GS' armor has seen many a better day. Even the feather is worn. He needs Guerilla Glue and duct tape. :D Wasn't he bulkier in season 1? I thought the cocky loudmouth kid was going to be a girl and related to part of the rookie party that got killed S1 E1. |
| Just finished the first episode Shield Hero S3, and man what an improvement in animation, screenplay, and just directing overall as compared to S2. Now maybe I'm tripping, but I think THIS received the opposite treatment. Idk if the staff completely changed as the studio has changed to Lidenfilms, but I remember that Whitefox made each episode of the first season almost feel like a movie. There was some cgi here and there, but in general it was as high as quality you'd expect from Whitefox. Here, it just feels like any other anime set in a fantasy world. Maybe that's what it always was, but no; Goblin Slayer was always just a little more unique. Will give it more time to breathe of course, but so far my impressions from this first episode aren't exactly stellar. Maybe it'll all be good once we see goblin slayer starts slaying goblins. |

| Man, I already miss the art style and just overall general aesthetic (and how that contributed to its feel/atmosphere) from the first season. Due to this, I really wish they had stuck with the original studio. This isn't just coming as a late surprise now. It was evident when the first visual promotional material like the trailer was initially released. But yeah, I definitely still felt that way and strongly preferred the first season's when I first saw that, and still do. The new version is...I don't quite know what the word is or how to put it...too kawaii-fied? A little less gritty and more overly pretty and commercialized-feeling? Overly given the context of the plot and frequent mood and tone of the series. The original one definitely seemed more suited for a raw dark fantasy, or at least a high fantasy with very dark periodic events and scenes, while still not uninviting or incompatible with the plenty of lighthearted moments and stretches of downtime it also had. This series always reminded me of Gauntlet Dark Legacy (the arcade and console video game from 2000), and the art style it started in and feelings that gave rise to was a factor in that. spaceman777 said: Why The Fk did they start the new season with the ONE thing that made the first season controvertial?!?!? Perhaps it was a conscious and deliberate decision to pre-emptively weed out the sort of segment in any audience which would inevitably be bothered by it and complain? Because if that turns them off and gets them complaining, odds are that they would have complained about something else, if not multiple things, down the line anyway, so maybe the creator, studio, director, etc. just doesn't have a high opinion of those type of people, doesn't want to hear from or deal with them at any point, so would rather they all just tune out right now on the first episode of season two, as some already did on the very first episode of the series as a whole. It can serve as a natural filtration mechanism for that lot. |

| Now I remember what happened in the first season thanks to that recap. However, I can't recall what the Goblin Slayer's face looks like because he always wears that armor and never even takes off his helmet. I think it was revealed but just slightly on screen. Anyway, it's nice to see this anime back again. It feels like it's been forever. |

| One of my biggest fears was about the animation and design, but I need to say that it is perfect. The priestess is so much prettier. Goblin Slayer was in 2D animation in the whole episode. The farmer is well made too, despite she being the one who I most noticed the diferences between the seasons. |

| So Goblin Slayer season 2 finally starts, let's go! I laughed when they showed a brief flashback to the 1st episode of the 1st season that caused the "controversy." But before that they did put a warning of the graphic violence so anyone that's watched the first season should not be surprised. It was a bit of a shame that no actual goblin slaying was shown but I'm sure we'll get some in future episodes. A funny moment was when the high elf asked GS what they were doing that day and he says killing goblins, as if he would do anything else. Anyways, it was nice to see the entire gang back including cow girl and guild girl, although a new character in the wizard boy was introduced. So far wizard boy is very arrogant and rude, hopefully he will be humbled soon. |

| I like how they started the 2nd season off with a recap of the raping from the goblins lol, it's like they intentionally mocked the people who complained five years. "You didn't like it? Well, here it is again." I watched the little recap (episode 10.5 of S1) just before this to jolt the memory, still a fairly slow start to the 2nd season. Gotta love Goblin Slayer's bluntness. |
| I don't remember much from the first season apart from the... goblin slaying, but seeing the characters again jogged my memory. It's been too long since I watched the first one so I can't notice the difference in animation after the studio change, for better or worse. I'm not really a fan of the new hot blooded kusogaki wizard though. |
