| Well this comes completely out of left field to me. I've no clue how popular this was in Japan but I never imagined there would be new material for this. Super excited to see how they're going to condense this into a movie. As much as I love Penguindrum I feel it's a very hard recommendation due to the pacing and surreal nature of the title. Hopefully the movie will be more accessible to gain new interest in the series. Here's the news article. |

| I don't really know why they would be making this as Penguindrum has been out for quite a while already. The only reason I can think of would be to raise more funding for Ikuhara's next project since I cannot see a season 2 ever working. |

| 24 episodes worth of content in 2 hours...the idea of it does make me nervous. i'm sure they're gonna cut some great stuff. still, i'm excited for the new scenes, and frankly just an excuse to watch something new by ikuni. wish i could contribute to the crowdfund but looks like it's JP only. |

| When I saw the notification I had to do a quick double take! No way are they going to fit such a mindmelt and powerful series of 24 episodes within a movie with some original content but I’d love to see it happen nonetheless! |

| Wonder if they're only doing this because it's around the 10th anniversary since penguindrum first came out?? I'm surprised like everyone else that Ikuhara would release something like this it's very left-field and I'm doubtful a recap of this series could work out smoothly at all but I'll never say no to new content of any sort from one of my top favorite series<3 anyone know how popular penguindrum was in japan? I imagine in was more popular than in the US fs |
