Natsume Yuujinchou and Kamichu are both somewhat slice of life series which revolve around a young person with supernatural powers. And, of course, both series feature an awesome cat!

Similar art style and setting. The plot differ greatly though.

They both deal with school life and first love, but in their own manner. Not so descent and really unique plot follows few middle-schoolers through their every day boring life. But it also features their encounters with supernatural. Though supernatural here is also of a "slice of life" kind. No one makes a fuss about special abilities that posses main characters, no one asks them to save the Earth or change this world. Those supernatural powers showed as a very part of our everyday life. Thus main characters both in Kamichu and Windy Tales are still ordinary middle-schoolers, even though they possess some super powers.

Both have a lovely cute short girl as protagonist together with her girl friends. Both are slice of life that make you smile.

Both are slice of life, and slow paced. Also, they both make atleast me smile. I guess you could say that they also give a similar "Aura".

A schoolgirl finds out that she has became a goddess. Now she has to deal not only with her school troubles but also with supernatural things. But she'll meet many friends who will help her to manage with her new job.

A cozy and wholesome show with strong writing and good animation for the period.

Slice of life about/involving girl becoming a god. Both will leave you feeling relaxed and a little healed from the stress of everyday life.

Both are slice of life style animes revolving around young girls in the Shinto system. While Gingitsune is about a hereditary priestess in high school, Kamichu is about a middle school girl who wakes up one day as a god. Both have charming storylines that revolve around the trials and travails of coming of age.

The premise is somewhat similar: give a young girl godly powers and see what happens.

Magical Slice of Life Adventure. Plus both are excellent quality in terms of animation and story!

Same production staff, very similar atmosphere and style. Both light-hearted, feel-good stories.

A kind slow paced slice of life anime about a girl who helps people with her supernatural powers. On the one hand she's learning how to use her supernatural powers and on the other hand she's just the ordinary girl. She has a mentor who helps her to conciliate this parts of her personality. This anime is more like fairy tale than fantasy.

Both are about young girls with special powers just living their daily lives like a normal girl would. Both are very focused on comedy with light touches of heartwarming drama.

Both are about young girls looking for their place in the world while doing something very unusual and being unusual themselves. Kobato is collecting hearts to reach a certaing goal, Yurie is traing to be a real god but both of them keep their childish innocence and view on life even though their jobs are quite difficult and very serious and important. Both girls are similiar in nature and the way they handle their problems. Kobato is more of a drama than Kamichu! while Kamichu! is mainly a comedy. They both solve relationship problems but Kobato does it more maturely than Kamichu!. Kobato reminded me  read more

They both have girls with special powers but more than that Yurie remindes me a little of Sakura though I think Sakura is stronger but I enjoyed both hope you do too. :P

- Both involve a cast of younger teenagers - Both have a supernatural twist - Both take place in small-ish towns/cities - Both are primarily comedies with a few serious elements mixed in

- Cute short hair female main character. - Peaceful town. - Both of their love interest are handsome(in my opinion, haha) and a little weird. (Don't know why when I watch Kamichu!, it immediately reminds me of Mimi wo Sumaseba)

Both titles take place in a port town at the Seto Inland See in Hiroshima prefecture. The protagonist lives in a house in the hills with a view over the town and the sea. The Battleship Yamato appears. Day to day activities of the protagonist are shown in detail. The protagonist is a female who often appears to be absent minded and dreaming. She has a very imaginative streak, and is creative not only in her imagination, but also in reality. Somehow, it felt to me like incarnations of the same protagonist were shown, in different times and different circumstances.

Moe slice-of-life with a warm and fuzzy feeling, lush landscapes and cute, imaginative use of magical realism.

Although the plots are very different they both have a happy light-hearted feel to them and a similar main character

If you enjoy relaxing, albeit slowly moving, shows with an endearing, wholesome, positive tone that occasionally present messages that make you think or remind you of important life lessons, both of these shows would probably be good choices. Also, both shows feature characters' interactions with fantastical elements as metaphors for realistic human concerns and experiences.

Slice of life adventures of a group of middle schoolgirls in a minor Japanese town, with a supernatural twist.

Both Sasami and Yurie (main characters of both series) are Goddesses and high scool students at the same time. Both anime show they daily life and adventures they have thanks to theirs powers. Sasami-san@Ganbaranai is anime with much od funservise and Kamichu is more plain slice of life but both tell stories about friendship and love.
report Recommended by Misiakk
main character is a teenager with supernatural powers who is able to communicate with japanese gods and spirits. while haruitsuki is a human boy who helps spirits, and yurie is a goddess who helps people of her town, both series deliver essentially the same cozy slice of life vibe and semi-episodic structure.

Both protagonists can see youkais (which are drawn really cute) and has super-powers.

Kamichu! and Sketchbook are verry similair, they dont really have a story line or plot, their made just for entertainment. The series both follow a shy high school girl and her friends while joining their club activities in school. and a funny thing, they both include talking cats
report Recommended by MistressRip
Both series have a supernatural world with gods and spirits superimposed on the normal world. This will then make the life of spiritually sensitive school kids slightly more complicated than it should. Also, in the both series the gods and spirits are more silly and comical than impressive and threatening.

Both Kokoro Library and Kamichu are adorable slice of tales. They also both have something a little bit different going on.
report Recommended by Susan
Both series feature supernatural phenomena occurring in rural areas. The stories are also slowly paced, reflecting the laid back lifestyle of the locals.
report Recommended by Yuunagi
If you're into themes of spirituality and beauty in the natural world, both shows are a good fit. Though Mushishi is not focused on humor, both shows are slow and deliberate.

This is my first recommendation but I've been thinking about this for while and no one else has thought it. Both give off this really great care free summer anime feel, perfect for watching during sunny summer days =) also both main characters have powers that can see things others can't see. With Yurie its spirits and with Sawaki its the microbes and both things are really cute ^w^ Yup if you liked either one of these series you will like the other, both slow paced, not too heavy going and slice-of-life that give you a warm summery feel =)
report Recommended by MissBlurst
Both heroines have powers and the show is about them going around with their friends solving little cases.
report Recommended by Jello
The story of Sakimichi is set around 1960s and Kamichi around 1980s. It gives the series a countryside feel. Both the series center in school.
report Recommended by Kurini
A similar blend of everyday life with the supernatural.
report Recommended by TheWanderingEye
They both are about gods, and they show comedy in the world of gods. They have different type of gods.
report Recommended by Galodyl
Both of them have something special that takes them beyond the typical slice of life series in setting. Manabi Straight has some sci-fi elements, while Kamichu! includes mystical/fantasy elements. More than that, they include a great deal of character development, and have the characters overcome real challenges in their daily lives. Still, they keep a relaxing and happy feel, always putting a smile on your face even when you feel like crying.
report Recommended by darkmac
both are about goddesses. Both have very good sense of humour!! a must see!

both are Shintoism Slice of Life Comedy series. Kamichu is the better one.

If you are new to anime, a.k.a. "I watched Naruto and now I'm a big fan of anime" you won't see much similarity in this. But if you know certain term such as shoujo-ai or yuri you will know what i'm talking about. My guess is that 99% of people on this web know it. So if you don't, why are you even here? If you want to turn back now is the time. The two shows are similar because they are imagination-enhancing to men and leses. The dependent girl and her best friend is another common scenario suitable for yuri relationship to take place. Both  read more

When I first saw Yui, I thought it's Yurie. They are pretty similar , both are shy, clumsy, but motivated girls. And just as from Yurie everyone espected much, the same was from Yui, from the music club members..Even if the series are defferent , the ideea is the same in my opinion.

although the story is very different and haiane renmei is a bit darker, the main characters remind me of each other. they seem to have the same feel...i think so anyway
