Bounen no Xamdou

Both of them have few favourite Bones features, which they applied to almost all of their original works: - a mysterious girl with unique abilities, which is somewhat apathetic towards her life; - a special crew of few members which accept our main (or not so main) hero and he starts to learn about their past and ways of living; - a Green Peace scent - let's save the nature and all the people, though in Xam'd it's not as strong as in Eureka; - a teh genki brown-hair shounen, destined to save the Earth from some great disaster; - lots of support characters which don't hesitate to make appearance even more often than main ones etc. and loads of minor similarities as character designs, plot twists, seiyu etc. read more 

The art styles are similar... done by the same team. Also, both have science fiction/fantasy type themes. Both also have airships xD 

The same team that worked on Eureka Seven came back to work on Xamdou. 

Premise of plot is similar, as well as character roles and art. 

Airspace, adventure, action and a great base story. Characters show similarity, being on a 'neutral' airship doing 'odd-'job(s) to make a living. Sound, visual and the scenery are in both anime's stunning. While Eureka Seven has more episodes, sidestories, Xam'd seems to be sticking to the storyline. But both are awesome to watch, taking you on a great adventure. 

Bones, the producers of Eureka seven (aired 2005-2006) made another great anime: Bonen no Xamdou (aired 2008-2009) (if you liked eureka seven then you might even be more hyped about this anime.) - Both animes got some wonderful characters with some great depth - The fantastic sound and music in both shows makes the experience watching these shows wonderful - The story in both animes is probably what will catch your interest the most though! Sci-fi Action Adventures can't go wrong honestly ... hah - Oh and ofc ... The animation is amazing, nuf said! You'll find some big similarities between the shows, but i wont tell you what, since you'll notice them yourself when you will start watching. However.. The design of the characters and art is identical to Eureka, which I love! The genre is the same. 

They both have similar story lines and progression. They also reside in about the same universe. 

Same creators, same style of story line, same style of art. Basically if you liked Eureka Seven you'll like Bonen no Xamdou. However, I fell Bonen no Xamdou will be better then Eureka Seven... 

Common themes. Similar characters.  

Bonen no Xamdo has the same character designer as Eureka Seven, as well as sharing similar animation styles and mecha themes. Both anime are created by Studio Bones. 

Xam'd is made by the same company as Eureka SeveN and as quite a few similarities with Eureka but has it's own Unique style to itself... if you liked Eureka SeveN You would most definitely like Xam'd! 

By Bones, Similar universe to Eureka 7 but main character is a bit more manly. 

"Xam'd" is pretty much a reused version of "Eureka 7." Ideas, characters, plot elements are all recycled. But hey, isn't recycling good? 

Xam'd feels like a re-envisioning of Eureka Seven. Just like Eureka Seven, it has a motley crew aboard aircraft/airship zipping around here and there with some awesome mecha action thrown in. So if your ever looking for something similar, give Xam'd a shot.

Both of the main male roles are supported by a group of interesting characters who've got their own flying ship. Both have strong mecha themes, and both Renton and Akiyuki have to mature in order to survive. Both animes start focusing around the every day guy's life and develop from there. Xam'd and Eureka 7 both have protagonists resisting the military.  

So... these have pretty similar themes, styles, and whatnot (same makers, after all), and the plots could also be called similar, what with a dumb guy who happens to land on a cool airship with a crazy crew and a strange girl with short colored hair that has jewelery adorning a right strand of her hair, and then they fly around having to battle ancient evils and conspiracies and crap like that. 

The art style and plot are so similar it is eerie, but I feel like Xam'd being shorter was really nice in that I still got a lot of character development. There was a nice ethnic diversity in the characters, which I really appreciated as well.  

Same animation style, pace, plot, character growth...Pretty similar over all.. 

i recamend this cause well it has a nice similarty just watch and see! 

Similar in telling a story that ends up on a much larger scale than it started! However, whereas E7 has a larger storyline (and twice the time to develop it) Xam'd is darker and more dramatic. 

I got the same feeling watching both. Both stories have a main character getting away from his home on a Ship for different reason after meeting another important character. To survive. To Follow someone. To make their life something more. Doesn't matter. Both Character, non really knowing what is happening at first start to slowly get it and pretty much 'Make' the Ending happen the way it does by becoming character with a important impact on other character and on the story. Both are good show really entertaining. Don't expect some Mecha in Xam'd tho you won't find any. 

Both series contains sci fi theme as well as very similar character designs considering the same studios are involved. Both series also contain interesting cast of characters and rather similar setting with technology beyond our modern world age. Both series contain action, sci fi, drama, some comedy, tragedy, and even romance. Both series' main protagonist also has their lives completely turned upside down after strange events in the pilot episode.  

Story, What happen to the MC and how they both ended up on a ship that they don't fit in the start. Nakiami and Eureka, Takehara and Renton. Their personality are pretty much the same as well. If you like the one then you'll 100% like the other 

Xam'd : Lost Memories is very similar to Eureka Seven , first it's the same studio who produced the two series , which is studio BONES . That's why it has the same art (thanks to Ayumi Kurashima ) The heroes are two teenager who following an incident finds themselves transported into an airship. On board a commander who dictates orders, and a crew who will laugh at them before they become one of them . And in the two series the plot revolves around love ... Yes it's exactly the same ... We could even say that the stories are taking place in the same world . In conclusion , two EXCELLENT series who will fascinate you by their story and originality .  read more 

Both are very similar, Eureka Seven has more drama and romance while Xam'd has a little more action, but both are still amazingly good. 

The art style is similar, and so is the plot.

More or less the same setting with a ship and its crew where the protagonist becomes involved with a girl thats part of the crew 

Both shows start with very similar premises. Akiyuki and Renton are very similar characters that start out kinda useless but grow as the event's in the story unfold. Both shows balance Action/Romance pretty well. 

Honestly the many aspects of this show are extremely similar to Eureka Seven yet different. Both use Mechs that either are or used to be a living being and it is these beings that possess an overwhelming amount of power, but of course they aren't full understood yet. The Main characters Akiyuki (Xam'd) and Renton (Eureka Seven) both have fathers who are well known among the military personnel. They are strong willed yet not sure how to interact with their new family. Especially when it comes to the girl they love. Our main Heroines Eureka and Nakiami are the only people who see the machines as living beings and have some sort of personal connection to them. There are people who are resisting the military who do understand that these are beings to be respected and left alone. Honestly once you watch it you'll be hooked.  read more

The same studio worked on Xamdou so the animation is just as gorgeous. More than that, both are written splendidly, with good world building and character development while avoiding all that filler a lot of other shows fall victim to. Eureka seven has a colorful and abstract world, with characters that have been through a lot that needs to be unpacked- Xamdou thrusts you into a colorful world in the thrusts of a very alien war, bringing you along with characters that grow and attach themselves into your heart. I cannot recommend either of these series enough, if you like Eureka Seven you should really do yourself a favor and try out Xamdou. read more 

both made by same studio and have a similar feel, story, characters, both have banger music, and both get weird at the end but somehow still good even great despite that 

Airspace, adventure, action and a great base story. The main characters have their own ideals intertwining in a world of conflict. The scenery is similar, while the theme is different. Both anime's are easy to watch and have a great adventure in-store. 

Last Exile and Bonen no Xamdo share a similar sort of flying-ship style, as well as the broad sky travel theme in general. There are also a few scenes that bear some similarity to Last Exile's universe, such as the group of white-haired children. 

This Anime is very pretty similar, to Xam'd. similar ship,story,crew. similar job (message deliverers). only differents, xamd got mecha's.  

Similar mystic girls, huge flying ships, also a promise of religious salvation to the human race. 

This is my first time write something like this so excuse my english. Fractale remind me of Bounen no xamdou in alot of way, both have rich world building and exciting adventure on an airship, this is my personal opinion but i think the ending of both are pretty satisfied and similar. 

Xam'd gives of a very strong Nausicaa feel. If you've seen the movie, then i'm almost certain you'll know what i'm on about when watching the first episode of Xam'd. Check it out. 

The world and character designs of Xam'd are all very Ghibliesque. Nakiami is pretty much a copy of Nausicaä, with traits similar to some of Miyazaki's more stoic women. When Nakiami first appears she subdues the enraged Xam'd, similar to Nausicaä's handling of the angered Ohmu. 

I honestly don't know what to say here without giving away anything for either series. Just trust me, and I'm picky with my anime, if you like Attack on Titan as much as I did, and enjoy anything by Ghibli and series like Last Exile, you'll really enjoy X'amd: Lost Memories 

These 2 series are very good to watch and have a weak romance plot but the main plot is really interesting 

MC forced to hold the power of xamd. He leaves home and join a mail ship where he learns to use his powers and fight back. The beginning is similar in the way tht there was also a crash.  

Both feature a lost boy searching for his purpose, where both of them have received powers that they didn't ask for. They both meet a mysterious girl who helps them throughout their journey but also acts as the deuteragonist/protagonist. Both series involve themes of dying nature and tackles the problem of human interaction and nature (In Mononoke, humans tearing down forests; in Xam'd, humans abusing shamans for personal gain.) Symbolism is also integrated in both series, some symbols being "rebirth" and "hope." Both series also feature great artwork, animation, and soundtracks. 

In both series, there's science fiction themes but more importantly, it involves a main male protagonist whose lives are changed forever after a certain event. They meet a girl and they help adjust to their new conditions/place in their world as they discover new ideas and learn about the world that they reside in. Both series' main male protagonist also seems to have strange origins and a mysterious power. It is invaluable as adversaries from both series threatens the lives of others as well as the world that they reside in. 

In both series the protagonist are very OP. Both of the series are very fun to watch and are full of action packed animeness. Both series have a similar animation styles and are great series. 

Both have a similar feel to it I can't describe what it is what the art the scenery they all feel similar in my opinion. Both anime have a good story and well they both deal with interesting stuff like meeting new people and changing their fate. I recommend both anime if you haven't seen them. 

Psychological mecha anime's with main characters that begin to question their situation, both universes are at war with similar humanoid/robot enemies. 

Darling in the FranXX gives me a very nostalgic feeling familiar to Xam'd. +Same art style +Similar mecha concept +Distant future atmosphere +Both main characters pilot a being as if becoming one with it, although a bit different for Xam'd +Very likable characters beyond just the main characters, even though there are so many mc's in FranXX +The mc goes through feelings of depression and self hatred +There are plenty of mysterious mecha looking creatures that the main characters fight as mechas +Special abilities and powers amongst human kind 

I'm pretty sad with most recommendations. They give recommendations about content rather than the feel of the anime. Seirei no Moribito has a similar feel to Xam'd: Lost Memories. It's about a character (in this case two characters) journeying to find out more about themselves and about the world. Both feature amazing artistic style and have satisfying endings. 

If you enjoy drama and major hero moral conflictions then you will enjoy these shows. Both primarily focus on story and drama above action.  

As i watch this serious i can't help but feel the same sense of anticipation i felt thought tengen toppa. What i mean is, they have the same feel to them, they have strong characters who grow on you, they have a guy who falls for a girl who's in love with their friend, even the xam'd and the machines look similar. The sound tracks could be interchangeable as well, they even have a similar vividness in colour. All in all if you loved Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann i believe you'll louve this too.  

Whilst Xam'd and Book of Bantorra have largely different underlying plots, i was taken in by the design of the rich/well-rounded universe that each has. which you will need to invest some attention to understand. Even With 2 sets of different cast of characters with unique strengths/abilities the amount of action and sub-plots in both are similar. For these reasons i liked them both, perhaps you will too. 

Both series have similar aesthetics courtesy of character designs by Kenichi Yoshida. And either series is mecha with elements of biopunk - particularly in Xam'd, which isn't tagged as mecha. The key difference lies in the tone/mood. Overman King Gainer is upbeat and fast-paced, while Xam'd: Lost Memories takes a more somber approach. In either case, the setting and details take a while to be fully fleshed out. 

Both series feature male teenage protagonists who live normal lives until they're caught up in terrorist acts that result in them suddenly gaining a superpower, and then being taken away from their everyday lives due to those powers. In Guilty Crown the MC joins the terrorist group, while in Xam'd he is taken along by a neutral faction. Both shows also feature mecha, however the main characters are not pilots themselves, and their powers allow them to fight against them on foot.
