Both originated from LINE Webtoons. They are both two of the most popular webtoon series currently on offer and therefore there is likely a huge crossover in the audience of both of these series. If you are big fan of one of these, it's definitely worth at least giving the other a try to see what all the fuss is about.

Very similar - 3 key characters - each with their backstory supernatural powers strong lead that obviously doesn't know he is strong strong antagonist lead that is always scheming..

Okay so you love martial arts? super powers? amazingly overpowered characters? epic fights? adventure? power ups, gods, dragons... ? then you should learn If you are DB fan or Goh Fan you should know how those two are similar and great to watch & read. Goku and Mori Jin, both mc are kind, little stupid, funny, always looking for a good fight, both doesn't know who they are really. great humor, funny moments, characters development, epic moments etc. (SPOILERS, If you don't want spoilers don't read this) both are Sun Wukong from journey to the west, in both show characters are planetary, universe level. basically mori  read more

Both martial arts focused anime with over the top action. Both have very similar appeal due to a lot of the prevalent themes in both anime. Characters and relationships have similarities in both series and each anime would likely both be enjoyed by the same target audience.

Series with fast paced action extremely fun to watch. There is a plot in both series but is kind of shallow, the stakes aren't that hight but we are all here for the hype of the next fight.

Both set in a futuristic timeline Both based on ring fights Both offer great fight scenes and a strong main character Both tournament arc centered/very competitive Just to be clear, the vibe of Megalo differs from GoH, however, I think those that enjoy GoH will really enjoy Megalo.

Both these series are based heavily in their fight scenes, and they make the fight scenes look GOOD. They have their comedic moments and tragic moments. And the colours in the god of high school are very vivid, making each panel amazing pieces of art. It is similar to bleach in the way that despite it's huge cast, all the characters are fleshed out and well developed. I highly recommend The God Of High School as well as giving bleach, the legendary member of the big 3 from the past a try, I swear it isn't just hype.

These are both recent "crunchy roll original" projects adapting hugely popular webtoons. Both suffered a fairly critical reception but have their redeeming qualities. Both have similar OSTs and overall tones.

Action, and a ton of it. If there is something to comment about with the plot on these two, I'd say that it isn't a lot to go on about aside from a few historical elements which come up every now and then. However, I am here to tell you that what should really catch your attention with these two titles is the attention to detail in every bit of action sequence, fight, close-up, and transformation that you could imagine. Both GOHS and Fog Hill Five are immensely good animations when considering all that can be visible. Despite their somewhat mediocre stories (maybe even worse  read more

Despite having different genres, the main trio of The God of High School reminds me a lot of the SKET Dance. So, if you missed SKET Dance, you can try this one.

Both martial arts anime that feature huge & popular tournaments. Both aren't tame and fairly graphic with their depictions of violence.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both anime are tournament based and in both anime human using god’s power

Both combat focused anime with peculiar/original eye art designs/artwork. Both have great character designs and art styles. Both series characters have their own forms of super powered attacks.

Battle shounen anime have never declined in popularity and have continued to introduce new characters to a new audience. Where there is popularity, you can find uncut gems that wasn't given an opportunity to shine. Air Gear and The God of High School are perfect examples of this because they weren't given enough episodes to finish their stories and fans had a lot of love for their manga. The main characters basically want to be the best and win against everyone, but it is these characters and their conflicts that makes you want to watch more. If you enjoy it then you'll want to continue  read more

I watched both series expecting some fine hand to hand combat, and both delivered well in that aspect. The spotlight goes to the fight itself, if that what you are looking the series have well animated and choreographed fights. It was fun and eye pleasing. One difference is that Kengan has a bit more serious tone.

Both very similar anime. They both are martial art themed/inspired and both heavily focus on largely important fighting tournaments. Both also have a fair amount of blood. Both have great art styles and character designs.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both have unique power systems and battle dynamics. Both have great art styles with really good character designs.

The first reason for recommending the series comes down to the two series pulling from similar mythology in order to build the world, yet going into detail regarding what that mythology is would also invoke the spoiler rule for those who've not seen The God of High School yet. Battles and fight scenes are also one of the major draws for both series, but Dragon Ball - it is interesting to think about how it might have influenced The God of High School overall.

both animes have the mc fighting a lot of people in order to get someting in goh they get anything they want granted
report Recommended by Sanyko20
Both main characters from each of them have superpowers, above the average. In ao no exorcist, the MC got powers from Satan, and in TGOHS the MC got superpowers equal to God. So, if you a fan of superpowers MC, you might like these animes, or if you already liked Ao no Exorcist, you must give The God of Highschool a try. It only has 12 episodes, and you can also read the webtoon if you're not satisfied with the anime. The animation of TGOHS is also incredible, its from MAPPA after all.

I'm gonna start off by saying Hypnosis Mic is way better than GOH, that being said at their core these shows are heavily carried by there high budget over the top battles while focusing less on their plots.
report Recommended by lil_pan
both about fighting both start good but the pacing ruins them both i would not watch these but if really wanted to watch goh as its shorter and akame ga kill is worse than goh, but are both are bad DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

If you like not overly complicated shounen with a bit of a flimsy plot but full of fights and overpowered characters then you'd love this anime. Entertainment at it's finest if you also like some nonsense and flaws

Fate is a battle royale where you can summon great soldiers and kings from the past to help and the winner of the battle royale will get a wish of theirs granted to them. GOH is a martial art tornament where people start to summon gods. and the winner will get a wish of theris granted aswell. GOH is not really good becuase the pacing ruins it, while fates pacing was really good and they did it much better.

The powers portrayed in GOHS has the same vibe/feeling as PLDR's in spite of GOHS being in spirit form that have various level powers while PLDR is based on the Numbers you've. The higher the Number, the level of powers you use/expel are higher. Unfortunately, both shows' consistent storytelling has been thrown out of the window mainly due to pacing issues. GOHS' second half is obviously all over the place in terms of viewers having a hard time to grasp the events unfolding in front of them. e.g. one iportant side characters suddenly shows up, then be in coma, then became a literal monster, and finally death  read more

In BnHA s2 there is tournament going on in which humans with supernatural powers compete vs each other similar to whats happening in GoHS. Plenty of action, special attacks, team battles and villains that plot things outside and inside of tournament arena.

Both series got, action packed scenes, superhuman abilities, and focuses on combat.

Similarities: -Both anime are famous and must watches on Crunchyroll. -They both have catchy openings songs and sick battles (officially) every episode. -The characters posses super powers, the protagonists also get stronger and gain new abilities once the story progresses. -Fantasy elements. -Based on manhwa. Please check out these two series if you are expecting an fantastic martial arts or adventure anime with tons of lit action.

Both are team fighting contests where they have supernatural abilities. Both main characters have personal moral compasses that drive them.

Both protagonists are insanely strong, and the side characters' roles are almost the same. The visuals of the fighting scene from both animes are phenomenal!

- both protags' personalities and the way they live their life is similar - everything turns around superpowers in both series. - dope opening opening animations. - effects and summary are very similar

Same energy of JP seiyuus, as well as similar kind of cartoony, but also "whooshy" motion. Main characters are both redheads who believe the most important thing to mastering their craft is having fun and going all the way. Jin and Reki are both a little bit of an airhead, but they've got the right spirit. Their comedic, but competitive side both really shine through with their somewhat serious/stoic counterpart. Definitely both resonate with the same general colourful energy and are both light, low priority, but fairly exciting watches.

Young, arrogant high schoolers and budding talents participate in battle competitions to become the very best. Both have a funky art style, great seiyuus, and a hint of a fantastical aspect to it with phantasms that reflect their power and prowess. The main characters of both share a really loud, passionate, humble yet simpleminded aspect--to win, and ideally win together as a team.
report Recommended by Kaguyachinchin
Both have a very episodic form of fighting a different opponent every few episodes. The power systems are also very similar in my opinion; every time I see someone use their charyeok powers in god of highschool it reminds me so much of the Stand power system in Jojo.
report Recommended by symbiotic
Both have supernatural school settings and are adaptations of massively popular Korean Webtoons. The reception of both from their fanbases left a lot to be desired. There are also similarities in their OSTs that leads to a similar vibe from both shows.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both intense martial arts anime with particularly graphic and violent fights to distinguish from more tame versions of the same style of anime. Both have great character designs and unique art styles.

Similar Arena-style arc with humans that have special fighting abilities.

Similar animation style, sprawling city-scape moto chases, powerful humans that use their pure strength with hand to hand combat that have special powers.

Both martial arts focused anime with interesting characters and more graphic/violent fights.

The main reason I'm putting this suggestion is God of High School is very reminiscent of the tournament arc Saint Seiya starts off with. There's also a fair few similarities between typical combat in the two shows; both have pretty over the top fights with a lot of flashy and brutal moments. There's also the same recurring core group of heroes in both shows, while the opposing fighters are a constant revolving door of characters. I do think both fall into the same trap of a lot of the powers being pretty inexplicable/out of nowhere, but if this isn't a huge sticking point for you  read more

High schoolers have powers and compete for something that can grant their wishes. If you wish you had reliable, loyal friends with the power of God and anime while watching one or the other and want to feel that more, look no further. Stay inside.
report Recommended by chuunigyo
Legit these two anime have no sense of direction and feel like they only exist for the sake of action. Obviously, I am not everyone, so you enjoy this more than I did but I wouldn't go into these looking for good stories since they legitimately do skip out on detail to the point where you get lost easily. At the end of the day, there are good audiovisuals brought to you by studio MAPPA.

1. Both action 2. Both have nice fight scenes 3. Both lowkey funny

Both have similar characters and good world building.

Both series are very good at throwing random plot elements into play with no real explanation behind them. Clear examples of brainless action over storytelling. Would recommend both series if you happened to be interested in series that have their potential ruined incredibly quickly.

both have similar direction similar plot buildup some good action similar kind of supernatural elements in exchange of zero two you get jin mori Perfect Match !

Shaman King and The God of High School are shounen battle anime where the main characters are competing in a tournament. As expected from a shounen battle anime, the main characters become stronger overtime as they face increasingly tougher opponents. The total number of episode for each series makes a difference in terms of storyline execution.

Both characters have a old father and are good people

Both offer astonishing animation, mediocre plot and lots of fun. Although Demon Slayer is a little bit more edgy than God of High School, i still think that if you liked one you'll probably have much fun watching the other
