Both series have a protagonist who appears completely disinterested in everything with average intelligence and poor social skills. But in fact is highly skilled in a variety of fields and has amazing understanding for the essence of situations he finds himself in. A female protagonist who is cold and maintains distance from people achieving an unapproachable feel to herself. She has poor social skills, but above average intelligence and beauty to match her academic skills. Both anime have the same groups of students interacting with each other, the popular kids, the athletic kids, the smart kids. And of course our protagonists do not fit in  read more

Both represent school life where there's a hierarchy depending on wich class you're in. MC aren't that similar but still you can connect them regarding some personality traits.

"Classroom of the Elite" and "Tomodachi Game" both center around students facing extreme challenges in highly competitive environments. They explore themes of deception, manipulation, and the dark side of human nature as characters navigate complex social dynamics to survive. Both series offer suspenseful plots with unexpected twists and psychological tension, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

Similar settings and "action": Hierarchy school setting where you need to outsmart your opponent to win. Both are very good anime and I would recommend both of them.

Pretty much the same idea but is a comedy whereas YJSSK is more serious

-psychological thriller comedy in HS -faster pace than classroom of the elite -stone cold MC -MC with childhood trauma -powerful MCs

The two most important aspect about classroom of the elites are 1.) the character and 2.) the setting/environment. Things like plot are just a by-product of these two interacting and not what you should be looking for if searching for an anime similar to this show. The characters’ background of being smart and witty as well as mysterious/unknown to others is a very simple yet basic comparison between the two. Chances are, you like this troupe of the underdog protagonist surprising pretentious enemies. The importance of the setting here is what filters out every other show that has an overpowered protagonist as the premise. The  read more

Similarities: Both of the MCs have hidden, tragic pasts that turn them into cold, calculated, and close to emotionless badasses. Thus, both the MCs are very strong. Similar harem type concept in both shows with the girls in the harems also being special in more psychological terms. Very similar art style and production, had to even check if they were made by the same studio. Very similar twisted side of human nature shown in both, expressed in the same powerful, distinct art style that Grisaia used.

Both MC are very intelligent and I feel that the show had a resemblance to one another. Both make you think hard and gets you very interested.

Is it only me, or these two is pretty similar? Maybe the music in Youkoso just remind me of NGNL. But i think the main premise is pretty similar. About an underdog, a group at the bottom of the list, trying to do what everyone said impossible and trying to becoma the number one despite their flaw. They usually achieve this through using cuninngnes, which we didn't realize until the climax where (usually) the protagonist explain something ordinary in the previous one, or two episode which became something crucial to determine the winner. They also use a loophole, or the wording in a certain  read more

There are striking similarities with these two anime shows. The stories are about a set of students in an isolated academy, who are striving towards being the sole (class or alone) graduate by either killing other students or having them expelled. The main female leads are seemingly cold-hearted people who remain calm but are accommodated with flaws, in spite of wanting to appear perfect. There are characters who bear a wide range of personality traits such as being gentle or cold. The more interesting factor is that students pretend to fall under certain categories to acquire advantages that are beneficial for said students. Because of the  read more

- Both Mcs are intelligent and strategical. - Both Mcs face in strategy based games. - Both MCs are going against something (eg government and other classes).

Both are about one guy cleverly manipulating everyone around him to achieve a certain result. To do so they have an absolute and far better understanding of their respective situations and how to use "the rules" to their advantage than everyone around them. You always feel like they're 10 steps ahead of everyone else, and it is very exciting observing them interacting and having battles of wits with other characters who act and think similarly. Tokuchi Toua of One Outs does so while playing baseball and Ayanokoji during numerous Classroom of the Elite tests.

Even though the themes of both are different there are quite a few similarities between both of these animes - Both animes are set in an elite school setting - Student Council holds a lot of authority over the school - Special tests are taken, and those who perform poorly face persecution and sometimes even expulsion from academy - Various groups form within the student body centering the influential ones - The goal of the animes are to take over the top spot of the school

Psychological anime where elite students live in a special academy set up by the government so they can create elite members of society. Students have to compete against each other to rise in the ranks, and the classes are separated by merit. In both shows the MCs hide their true abilities, Hiroto lies that he is the most powerful in the academy and Ayanokouji hides his true abilities, trying to appear ordinary.

Both showsdrive our attention towards the psychological tendencies of characters and their way of interacting with their environment. Each story takes place in a reclaimed territory (Youkoso -- Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, Kiznaiver -- Sugomori City), processing some kind of a special plan for advancing society (being world peace in Kiznaiver, and highly educated students with guaranteed university admission and employment in Youkoso). Consequently, the main setup of the plot are teenagers try to deal with the challenges and trials imposed on them from above by a powerful system. The main male characters resemble each other too. Both anime have a high school setting that is more similar to a company or even a country rather than an actual school. They also focus on politics (if you could call it that) and human drama. Chocolate does have a bigger focus on romance though, it's also a bit more light hearted.

Elite's MC doesn't have emotions - Wonderland is CGI VS. Elite is 2D Animation - Wondeland is Chinese Donghua VS. Elite is Japanese Anime - Wonderland is Wuxia style plot VS. Both have plots that revolve around a competitive educational setting, with thematic developments hinging, at its core, between the social life and relationships between classmates. Due to this format, both hold similarly suspicious authoritarian undertones.

Both these anime are truly amazing, they both show different sides of mystery and adventure. I would recommend that if you like one you’ll like the other. Balance unlimited was a quick love for me, as soon as I saw the first episode I knew that it would become one of my favourites. However compared to that Classroom of the Elite was slow to begin for me, but as I got to know the main character I was hooked, he was just too interesting. But this could be related to the fact that the main character is apathetic in a way that draws watchers in.  read more

Both are school animes that focus on a group of elites. In Classroom of the Elite, the anime focuses more on academics and how students use underhanded means to achieve their goals, while in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, it is about two people who are brilliant but too proud to admit defeat or love, so they engage in mental warfare with one another. The art style is also similar, as both have rather plain backgrounds with detail given to the characters themselves.

These anime may see a lot far away from COE but trust me, it gets more and more similar from 7th episode. Some of them are: Both leads have a hidden agenda Both leads are quick thinkers and analyze the situation completely Here, one may not be a tsudere but he does has a very scary side of him just like ayanokoji.....

The only difference between them is magic, literally. Mahouka series has a great Protagonist and a girl who doesn't deserve to be with him, Same with Cote (Not the light novel) I personally think Mahouka series is better than Cote as an anime but both are must watch

Both the series are psychological-thriller that will keep you on the edge till the very end. Both consists of totally new and unique storylines unlike any other. The element of suspense is left constantly throughout the entire series that would keep you hooked. Both the shows take you on a rollercoaster ride where only the unexpected takes place leaving you stunned and speechless out of awe.

*Both include school settings *Have a fair balance between action and fanservice *shady schools and stuff, but less based in the teachers themselves and more in the students

Both school themed (as 90% of all anime) but has the similar wibe of "mistery" and brutal backstories which if you enjoyed one you'll enjoy the other

Protagonist are considered a 'Mob MC' which means they are trying to live a normal life even though they are jumbled up in the 'Main Story'. Protagonist isn't lawful-good natured in general but very manipulative and calculative in their actions, they choose the actions which leads to their benefits whether its morally right or wrong.
report Recommended by FrenZato
Both main characters have the same feel of both being lethargic. Tanaka is more severe, but from the first episode, I think Kiyotaka is going to continue with the behaviour. Both school based with a comedic theme.

the MCs in these animes are both calm and collective and complete badasses. They alwasy seem to know whats going on before it even happens. Bungou stray dogs is a little different cause it doesnt take place in a school but its definitely worth the watch and is by far one of my favorite animes ever

similarities between Yozora and Suzune are just uncanny, theirs looks long Black hair which becomes short later, both always that annoyed scowl on their face, both are sarcastic, both are the younger sister of the top student, and both reject the popular girl.

Both Welcome to the Classroom of the Elite and Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings center on a dynamic duo of a male and female lead. The male character maintains a cool demeanor, skillfully hiding his intelligence while dealing with his own complex parental struggles. Together, they navigate the challenges of their classroom environment. The female protagonist is determined to rise on her own, yet she finds valuable support in the male character's experience and insight, creating a compelling story of teamwork and personal growth amidst classroom conflicts.

While one is isekai and not fantasy themed and the other highschool classroom themed, both have very similar vibe. Both try but actually don't discuss some philosophy questions. The protagonists fight through strategy against the current antagonists. Both have enough fanservice to sustain the shallower viewer and both are similarly short.
