Selector and Madoka both take the formula that is normal for Anime of the card game genre and magical girl genre and places a dark twist on it involving the fulfillment of wishes happening. On top of these wishes having a darker side to them there is the fact there is a “pure” character, a character that happens to have a positive outlook on life and easily be able to make friends with people. The characters also don't have a wish because they can't think of anything to actually wish for. There is also quite a bit of slice of life elements as well as  read more

Little Girls fighting against each other in parallel universes. One bright side, where you have a kind of slice-of-life feeling while there is the other "darker" side, where the girls fight. A big difference is the card game, which is not in BRS but the dream sequences and the overall atmosphere are quiet similar.

So after letting the show continue for a couple more episodes past the pilot episode i would have to say that these shows are similar. While both animes deal with granting the master desires each anime deals with a different desire. In Selector Infected the show deals with winning battles to grant ones wish. While in C it deals with winning battles to gain money. Along with the chances of getting your desire granted both animes have consequences if you lose to many times. In both the animes it seems that the consequences both have a similar effect. Also, in both animes they have an "avatar" that  read more

How to best explain the similarity? Dark times in a world where the characters play a game, forfeiting effectively something important in the process, yet they seek to find their humanity. The world outside of the game is light and airy, yet the wishes - the question of whether they are worth it and the price one pays crops up.

Both are anime series about magical girls, but with a dark twist. In both series they make deals to be magical girls (or "Selectors/Eternal Girls" in WIXOSS case") with special powers, but then there turns out to be a catch that they didn't know about when they signed up for it.

Selector and Fantatsista are both of the card game genre, but one of the ways they vary from the normal card game Anime is the fact the main characters are female. The main character is naïve and doesn't understand the rules for the game. Both series have wishes fulfilled for those playing. Irony is that while Fanasista is a more light fair, the reason for the wish fulfillment is darker in the fact who ever is granting the wishes happens to be after the main characters cards and is manipulating things. Selector is the darker series and the “goal” behind granting the wishes isn't revealed  read more

If you like on you may like the other : • Both deal with avatar based fights • Both deal with fighters inner stuggles • Wixoss is way more dark but the spirit is similar.

Similarities: Both have the same card based anime. Both involves dueling in a card battle. Dissimilarities: One was more of a shoujo type of card battle, while the other one was more of a unisex card battle. In one anime the player can use multiple avatar, while in the other anime the play rely only on one avatar.

-both Anime Talks about Card Games. -In Yugioh they Sometimes battle In Shadow realm and in Selector they fight in another kind of Dimension. -similar kind of fear when they battle in the other dimensions.

Both shows are about Trading Card Games and the overall tone of both shows are dark and sinister. The characters play at high stakes in order to reach the King in Build Divide or become an Eternal Girl in WIXOSS and thus have its deepest wish granted. Losing the game can make a huge loss, especially in Selector Infected WIXOSS where your wish becomes a reversed Curse. while in Build divide you're considered an outcast in the city, losing all your privileges you've gained trough card battles and have to leave the city.

- MC's parther is a white haired girl. - People fighting to make true their wish. If someone win, the other loose the chance. - MC who always win in his fights since the beggining even when they don't know how to fight. - MC who don't want to fight, but people look for him to defeat him. - People go to an alternate world when fighting. - MC and friends are (or were) involved in figths.

- both anime talks about group of people who fight to beat each other in order to make their wishes comes true , in mirai nikkie they fight to be God and In wixoss they fight to be Eternal Girl so they can make their wishes. - both anime are psychological.

In both anime protagonists are girls. In Mahour shoujo site: Unfortunate girls get magical powers to use at their will In Wixoss: Unfortunate girls get dragged into card games which are meant to fulfill their wish. In both anime girls at risk of losing everything by participating in magic/card games. Girls in both anime are unfortunate.

Saki and SIW both give the feel of immersing the viewer through the card/board games the characters play even though the games are seemingly simple to play. Both MC are unknowingly very skilled at their respective games even though they consider themselves novices.

Both anime include competitions between special girls who are trying to win and get their wish granted. They also both get darker and have plot twists as they progress. However, the plots and circumstances of the competition are very different, as Wixoss is a card game show, while Granbelm is a mecha/magical girl battle royale show

SIW sub/sideplot and YNS last arc are similar in that both deal with bro-sis incest. In this case, the sis gradually gets her way with the bro. In SIW the supporting female sis obtains the bro by the card game mechanics and for now they act as secret lovers while YNS obtains by regular means/shows affection and takes it one step further by "going all in".

Well, on one hand, you have the really, really wonderful Yuuki Yuuna which gives the viewer a slow descent into a bit more than slice of life nonsense. On the other hand, you have WIXOSS, which takes your innocence, ties it up, and drowns it in a pool full of acid, replacing magical girls with card games, although it never really becomes the story that Yuuna ends up being..

Both have that same vibe where player got involve in some game were the losers pay's a heavy price.

roughly episodic adventures that build up the world into a kinda dark but still hopeful place, emphasis on characters trying to fulfill wishes that they probably shouldnt

Both shows feature a group of girls who are trying to overcome obstacles and struggles to make their wish come true. They start off nice and light-hearted then turn into a dark psychological show. Characters in both are very similar in terms of personalities and their wants in their life. If you liked one of them, it is guaranteed that you will like the other. Although in my personal opinion, Madoka Magica takes the better approach then Selector WIXOSS did.

In WIXOSS characters are selected to make a wish come true while in Fairy Ranmaru the characters were chosen to make their world a better place. The fights in Fairy Ranmaru and WIXOSS have a proxy fight on each side's behalf. In WIXOSS this is their LRIG card character, while in Fairy Ranmaru it's the fairy fighting on the client's behalf. Just like in WIXOSS it's possible for there to be spectators. The sides themselves cannot participate in the fight and can only provide motivation and instruction. Depending on the outcome of a fight, a side's life can be altered completely. The series also share similar  read more

Both shows start off as pretty lighthearted, but take a darker turn and throw the characters into despair. Themes of depression, anxiety, and fear are present in both series.

Dark series where individuals are chosen to fight to get their wishes granted via proxy battles. The question of what it means to win plays a prominent role in both series. Cliffhangers in the finale force you to watch the second cour.

1. LRIG = Frame arms girls. Cards in wixoss, robots in Frame arms girl. 2. Pretty much girls only cast. 3. Pretty much the only thing that LRigs and frame arms girls desire is to battle. 4. MC's are incredibly similar in personality and kinda in looks. 5. Girls fight for their owner, while owner just watches from afar. 6. Frame arms girls is not that dark though and not psychological.

Both stories revolve around cute girls with supernatural powers or problems that involve supernatural themes. If you like cute girls battling it out with crazy powers, then give these two shows a try!

-Both have cute character designs, but the plot and the themes are heavy and on the darker side -The difference is that Wixoss is more on card games (and a bit of magical girl) while GG! is all about survival against zombies in a school.

Both anime involve one card that fights others to the death one may be cheerful but the other is more dark I'll let you decide which is which I recommend one more than the other but both are good on there rightful genre

Dark magical girl shows about girls competing to become best girl ( No really those are the basic premises ). The girls aren't your typical "magical girls" but they're still girls with magical powers so they technically qualify. Rozen Maiden is more light-hearted but gets darker in the second season.  read more

I know these seem totally different, and the art styles are polar opposites, but they actually feel the same at times. They are both based around high stakes games with a focus on psychological aspects and mind games. Kaiji is far grittier, and WIXOSS has some high-school slice-of-life elements, but both are dark and a bit twisted in a similar way. I'd recommend both to any fans of psychological type anime.

If you watch either of these anime, you will be subject to a perfect mixture of hot incest and soul-crushing suffering for the characters involved. Both are highly recommended for those seeking a brother-sister incest fix.

Selector and Aikatsu are both of the card game genre. Unlike most series of the card game genre these Anime are aimed at a female audience instead of a male audience. Both of the main characters have a friendly, outgoing personality. Both of them also don't know about the “world” the other characters are involved in, the difference being that one character ends up having a lot of negative things happen to her and her friends, while the other character ends up with a lot of good things. Both like taking things on their own shoulders as well. Despite the fact the styles are different,  read more

Students are battling each other with their mascots to get to a higher rank. In Baka To Test it is to get a better classroom, in Selecter Infected it is to makes their wish come true.

Both anime take a dark twist on their respected genre. While Tamers is still more suitable for kids, it was still massively psychological especially for a digimon show. WIXOSS is more suited for an older audience and not only has cards in common with Tamers but also with shows like YuGiOh and Vanguard, yet is more focused on the characters than on the cardgame.

Pretty obvious that both have the same run of the mill card theme anime, except one was more of a unisex card battle, while the other one is more of shoujo card battle.

Both are heavy psychological shows with slow pacing and lots of foreshadowing built upon the dark secrets of a seemingly innocent body. Each has very mature themes that are handled extremely well, but may be lost on those who aren't paying enough close attention. Shinsekai Yori spends most of its time on some incredible world building whereas WIXOSS opts to spend more time on its characters, but these anime are fundamentally written the same way with the same goals in mind. If you liked one, you will probably like the other.

> Both have some kind of incest, sometimes is implicit and others is explicit... > Both have some games in this plot ( in Selector,is the battles between the Selectors with the LRIGs,while in NGNL,are many chalengers ou games, that say the fate of a country ou even a life,if you lose or not) > Both are in same anime season

They have a similiar feeling, where their magic powers they thought were supposed to help people turn out to have a dark side they didn't know about.
report Recommended by Aurakin
They're not all that alike, but they share some similarities. The mysterious powers that turn out to have darker origin that the main character didn't expect. Also the aestethics are somewhat alike, especially during the last couple of episodes in WIXOSS. Both MCs are pretty idealistic and want to do good, but realize they're hurting the people they want to help.

Even though these shows are being described as "cute moe girls," you might want to think twice before watching them. In the series, it is known to be darker and grittier portrayal where characters uses cards, either on battle or by survival. This is a challenge to the characters where they test their skills and survive through the rounds. The show also deals with Psychological themes, where they have strange images in their heads and must handle their courage. 1. Both shows involve a power that only girls can use: In SIW, characters can summon "LRIGs" (card avatars) to play in card battles while in Mai-HiME they can summon "Childs" (mechanical monsters) to help them fight. 2. Using this power comes with risks. 3. Characters fight for something they hold dearly. 4. Both shows get progressively darker. Although the settings and circumstances are different, if you like one anime, I think you'll like the other! :)
