Grisaia no Kajitsu

There's a handsome main character in each who is ridiculously overpowered in their respective worlds; Both of them have lots of females to choose from that they don't seem too interested in and seem to care loads more about their work. The girls themselves are, however, no push overs either and aren't just damsels in distress.  

The characters are very similar in both animes. -The MCs are a mysterious, they are both cold but they seem to be attached to their "friends" and help them in their problem. -They have both a good harem. It's not the kind that have big breasts in an ecchi manga, but more like girls that have feelings toward the MC. Each one of them has a skill that help the main character in a way. -They are smart and ... overpowered. The kind of character that can beat 100 persons alone in less than 5 sec. Both are skilled in lots of kind of fight (bare hands, guns ...). -Their family has a secret that they don't talk about to others. We don't know much about and as lons as the manga lasts, we try to understand about what it is. read more 

Both of the main characters have the same personalities, have a dark past, hides some kind of ability and are trying to live normal lives. 

Both MC are over power and are misterious about their past. Both work for the military or some kind of government agency. You have harem in both but in Grisaia is more enjoyable because it's not that cliche and also it kinda gives and explanation of why the girls like him not just because he is the MC. The main setting in both is inside a high school. The biggest difference is that one has fantasy and magic and the other doesn't. If you watch Mahouka setting you're going to enjoy Grisaia, and in my own personal point of view, Grisaia is better with a deeper plot and more deeper characters as well a darker story. read more 

Both mc's are cold and are viewed as powerful people, the difference is that Grisaia no Kajitsu does not have any magic and is mostly focused on the students themselves while Mahouka Koukou has magic and is more focused on fighting but they both have the same feeling and that is the MC is badass. 

-Both have OP main lead male characters- -Awesome story- -Pretty girls- -But wait there is some difference between Grisaia no Kajitsu and Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei -Which is Grisaia no Kajitsu shows more of grim side of life, there is things that some scenes young viewers not might like or think might be disturbing but it also shows how life is wonderful ? hmm idk about last part though. -In Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei nothing to say much of this show just watch both 

The protagonist is literally the same person incarnated into a different story line. Very similar in lots of ways. The primary difference being the lack of magic and the addition of fanservice to the Grisaia story line. 

Mahouka and Grisaia series have a badass MC with cool support characters around him. In Mahouka most of the support characters don´t get developed and the story revolves around the MC and the MH while in Grisaia you´ll see cool backstories with a lot of drama and action. With you like series with good MCs, good animation, sound tracks,ETC you´ll certainly like it. 

- Both series have main male characters who have pasts that were meant to be kept secret, and military based. - They are both Extraordinary Strong. - Each of these characters being strongly influenced by their sisters. - Both feature a male character who seems calm and strong and has a secret. - The secret in both cases is their involvement in some group that fights and kills. - Both characters attend a special school and pretend to be normal high school students while hiding their true self. -  

If you're looking for a Strong, Badass with Cold attitude and with a dark past to boot then this is what you're looking for. Both male lead are very skilled in fighting. Both have harem and a little bit of romance. Both male lead have a sister, one being overprotective and the other is sort of a complex All in All Both are Great Anime to watch. 

The protagonists of the anime are serious and cold, and that makes the anime more interesting to watch. 

Both got bad ass MC's and when I say badass I don't mean stupid MC who charges in the battle without a plan and by some miracle win. Yes I'm talking about calm and collected MC's who uses not only brute force but his intelligence as well. Though sometimes they can be pretty dense. 

If you are looking for a main character that is nonchalant, who has little to no emotions at all and is trained to be an ice-cold killing machine with a sister complex. Then this anime is the right one for you. Even though the stories are a tad bit different I would still highly recommend watching Grisaia and Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei for their stories and their protagonist. They are both great animes and you will love them both. 

Both anime share similar protagonists in which they both hold unparalleled abilities compared to their peers as well as having cool and collected personalities. While coming off as cold and somewhat uncaring, they make sure to protect those that matter to them when it counts. The Irregular at Magic High School is more magic based and has its fair share of action. However, if you like more "realistic" settings (simply the lack of magic) and higher stakes, Fruits of Grisaia is a must watch if you liked The Irregular at Magic High School. While their plots are fairly different, they are quite reminiscent to one another. The largest distinguishing feature between the two is magic and the lack thereof, so pick your poison. MC is quite similiar, from appearance to character it self, they're resembling each other. School themed, one is harem and one is harem like (?). The only difference, one use magic and the other didn't. 

The MCs both meet a ton of girls which have problems and he helps them with solving said problems. In the Monogatari series, the MC is a vampire and the girls are often possessed by spirits or aberrations (often caused trough past traumas etc). In Grisaia the MC is a trained assassin and the girls all suffer from mental disorders/traumas. Some of the girls in Monogatari also suffer from mental disorders next to their possession. Monogatari is more intellectual and does things really smart. A lot of irony and methaphorical wordplay. Grisaia takes itself too serious at times but it's a fun ride. Both MCs have balls and are not afraid to take decisions. Both series contain ecchi and action oriented elements.  read more 

Both are harem anime, and have some ecchi&service scenes. Each of the heroines have a dark past. The MCs, Yuuji in Grisaia series and Koyomi in Monogatari series, although their personalities are totally contrary, both of them have bravery and sense of justice to save the heroines around them. Both series have the same character designer--Watanabe Akio, so the characters seem alike, especially Yumiko(in Grisaia series) and Hitagi(in Monogatari series). 

-MC are both going to extreme measures for people unralated to them -MC is surrounded by very attractive and unique heroines that fall for them -MC is the most luckiest person in the anime universe at the same time, so unlucky because of what happened to them in the past that made them to help the heroines.  

I dropped Bakemonogatari around episode 9 due to spoilers from friends,internet and I just couldn't keep up with the order to watch But Grisaia and Bakemonogatari have similar elements. Male MC tries to help the female characters's. both have lots of dialogues except Grisaia has some mature content  

All of the main characters in each series are carrying a serious trauma, which manifests itself through their personalities, afflictions, and actions. While it may seem on the surface that they're "just fine," deep down they're all struggling and coping with it in different ways. The male main character of each series is involved in healing the trauma of each girl, through his own strange methods, to let them help themselves and recover. In many cases the coping mechanism is represented metaphorically as something completely different. 

Oddly enough I can't stop thinking about Monogatari series while I watch Grisaia no kajitsu. It is very similar in terms of artstyle and direction. The series revolves around mostly dialogs (as in Monogatari) but is less dense and more humor packed. Interactions in general are VERY alike and you can easily tell they got inspired by Monogatari series. Very recommended if you are a fan of the series and want a refreshing yet similar thing. Also if you are like me and you like nudity, GnK has plenty of it. 

Main character goes around solving problems for different girls. The 'problems' in both anime are supernatural but has symbolism to real problems like loneliness. 

Interesting Characters + badass mc + crazy artstyle + epic animation.the grisaia series and the monogatari series are quite similar 

Grisaia also tells a story about serious problems and trauma, in less abstract but more grounded and even brutal way. Deals with themes I've rarely seen in movies (if at all), can make you rethink your life and maybe face some unwanted truth. Characters, even if compressed more in comparison, still are likeable and relatable. While Monogatari Series deserves it's place among best anime ever made, Grisaia is greatly underrated in my opinion 

Both harems with girls where each girl gets some focus to understand them and get attached. The comedy and drama-esque vibes are similar. Just watching this made me think of the Monogatari Series.

Both of the anime revolves around girls who's having a drama in it's current time that has a connection with each of the girls past. Both does have a mysterious main character who helps the girls. Both story focused on the girl's depth character that can make them realateable and likeable, well of course there's the annoying loli. 

The dark theme, the romance between some characters, Grisaia no Kajitsu really gives a wave of Angel Beats! back to me, since I haven't cried on a 13-episode series since Angel Beats! Beautiful anime, also they reflect alot about death and what there is after it. 

During the first few episodes of Grisaia no Kajitsu, these two shows didn't seem to have any similarities. But as the story went on, I found they were quite alike. They depict how a past tragedy changes the characters' whole lives. And our protagonist helps them to accept their fate. Moreover, they both have a special school as setting, mild animation, and decent music composition. 

~ Both feature a mysterious male protoganist joining a school ~ The school is filled with people with troublesome/dark pasts, including the MC ~ The MC tries to help everyone overcome their pasts ~ Both feature random spurts of comedy 

2nd half of Grisaia no Kajitsu reminded me a lot of Angel Beats. Both series talk a lot about death and how people behave when they are on the brink of death. Both series feature characters who carry deep regrets after (they believe) causing the harm to their friend or family. Whereas Angel Beats is about purgatory, where every character in the story has already died, Grisaia no Kajitsu is about near-death experience, where characters come out of scenarios where they are the only surviving person. These issues are explored thoroughly from the 2nd half of Grisaia no Kajitsu all the way through to the two sequels. read more 

The main male protagonist helps each one of the main characters to get over there tragic past and ends up solving their problems. The tragedies are also very similar to that of Angel Beats. 

both are similar in terms of feels and stress but Grisaia no Kajitsu has 10 times more stress specially around the last 4 episodes of the first series 

Both anime has characters with different tragic past . And one MC tries to fix or heal their past  

Each of the characters has their own personal story, and the series uncovers them one by one. They are much darker backstories than those of Angels Beats though 

main characters are very similar and even the characters are kinda similar.  

Both series offer a serious look at how characters with mysterious, unusual, or tragic backstories evolve and interact when brought together in a unique academic setting. How do these influences shape character behavior? The role of the personality facade is a major part of both Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e (Classroom of the Elite) and Grisaia no Kajitsu (The Fruit of Grisaia), with characters deliberately suppressing a side of them in favor of exaggerating other, possibly artificial personality traits. Cutthroat academic competition and cynical worldviews shape behaviors in Classroom of the Elite while complex backstories shape the characters of The Fruit of Grisaia. With that in mind, there will often be a slight but persistent hint of unease in the characters's behaviors. Something feels... off, and it's this tension that eventually uncovers more about what's really in these characters's minds and past. The MCs for both are also one of those complex characters and are highly perceptive, even if they seem rather inscrutable at first. Although they're not the particularly chatty type and have their own, personally-invested reasons for being at school, the oddities of the characters around them piques their interest, and us viewers are along for the ride as they piece together their understanding of their classmates, helping them overcome or finally recognize and come to terms with their challenges. There's not necessarily an overarching plot in either series other than the premise that establishes why the characters are all at the school/setting they're at, though both Classroom of Elite's Class D and Grisaia's Mihama Academy bring in flawed, defective, and/or troubled students. Classroom of the Elite's progression is primarily in the form of event-centered arcs as one would often expect from the competitive school setting while The Fruit of Grisaia's progression is more of a guided tour of the characters as one would often expect from a "harem" anime, only this time more serious and perhaps discomforting at times. The tone and intensity of Classroom of the Elite gets established comparatively early and its themes hold generally steady throughout, while Grisaia sets things up for a bit before the intensity starts cascading like a frenzied avalanche, with each character arc examining new themes. There's no "magic" in either series, but certain setups and events do get pretty outlandish at times. TLDR: This recommendation is based primarily on similarities in atmosphere, character development, and themes. read more 

Watching Classroom of the Elite really reminded me of Grisaia. The MCs are very similar, and the main supporting characters/harem around the MCs are similar too. Even the themes resemble each other to a large extent, both revolve around the protagonist helping a bunch of girls with their respective issues, Grisaia to a larger extent than Classroom of the Elite. Parts of the storylines in both verge towards the ridiculous. They both have a relatively large amount of unnecessary fanservice, but nice animation and sound. Classroom of the Elite does the school aspect better and focusses on the environment more, but Grisaia has better developed characters and a more complex plot overall. Grisaia is also quite a bit more mature than Classroom of the Elite. Nonetheless, if you liked one, you might as well give the other a try. XD  read more 

Both give me the same; Ayanokoji seems like a copy of Yuuji, both seldom express their emotion, seemingly deadpanning almost all the time, both stories are based in an academy for "defective" people (class in Youkoso's case), the protags are deeply shrouded in mystery and they both seem to have had a rough childhood.. 

The most similar thing is THE MC Both mc's are mysterious Both have a back story Both are genius and badass And both mc always have a poker face which you can't read Plot is also similar and both anime hits you psycologicaly. 

main mcs are pretty similar both having an unknown past, an introverted personality and they both are badass both shows are harem (Grisaia is definitely a harem, cote is a harem too but debatable) harem is also similar (especially black haired girls) 

Both MCs have a dark past that made them who they are. And yes, obviously there are some girls that fall for the mc, but clearly not stated. I'd describe the MCs to be: - Highly Intelligent. - Extremely good at hand-to-hand combat. - Mysterious. - Merciless  

Cold, emotionless, overwhelmingly powerful MC who hides his power? Check, except Kouji is even better. Fan service? Check, except COTE's isn't nearly as distracting. MC who doesn't react to the harem? Check. High school full of insane people with tragic backstories? Check.  

Pretty similar although being quite different. -Both start off with a bunch of characters of unknown past -Both keep on evolving around these characters and their relationships -Both have a highschool as the main place of the action itself -Both are based on the stories of the characters, and how they all together manage to reach something. -The characters are pretty the same in basic terms: the loli, the ecchi one.. Both are pretty recommended and intend to go for the drama, with pretty good art styles and music.  

Same school settings. A special school, a bunch of friends, hostel life and main character trying to interact with a bunch of girls and helping them out. Little Busters has an element of supernatural and fantasy and Grisaia is more psychological.  

Little Busters and Grisaia both share a theme in which the characters' identities are greatly shaped by their pasts. This isn't isolated to just the male protagonists; many of the female leads in both Little Busters and Grisaia are also affected. Furthermore, LB and Grisaia have storylines that are presented in separate "arcs", in which each arc centers around one of the female leads. I would recommend checking both series out if you get the chance. 

Both revolve mostly around a male MC who helps out each girl with her problems. Both series are originally based off visual novels and thus have many harem aspects to them. Both series managed to make me cry a lot so they're both successful tearjerkers. 

The word 'harem' generally has a static meaning, but Grisaia no Kajitsu and Clannad redefine it. Both are stunning school romance dramas, featuring similar protagonists. They follow the same formula, dedicating a few episodes to each of the girls. Both series are effective tearjerkers and are absolutely heartbreaking. 

There are a lot of similarities between both of these with a few differences storywise and character backstory too. Grisaia is heavier in terms of violence, has less episodes and is less of a tear jerker compared to Clannad but they are both based off visual novels with the premisse of solving someone's problems about their past. 

Similar MC characteristics and help his female counterpart in school 

*Both Mc thinks as a Chadd *Harem (alike) *All the FMCs (most of it) thinks that the mc is dashing *All the main FMC has problems with their life. And the MC must help them to solve their problems.  

There are a lot of similarities between the two: a lot of girls with tragic backstories and overall tragedy, a male MC who's trying to help them, a bit of ecchi here and there, occasional fighting, overall edginess, and also some romance bits with some of the girls. 

Both are serious harem story. both MC protects the girls. In brynhildr the MC really protects the girls eve he is powerless physically, he able to sacrifice himself just to protects the girls from enemy. In grisaia. the MC is skilled and smart. 

Well, both anime represent gigachad mc-kuns who can solo kill whole army squadrons while protecting their harem of cute girls drooling over them. 

No spoilers, but the plot twists and "fake" appeal make Rewrite similar. 

If you read the synopsis of both anime you might think how are they similiar? Well its because they are both unique to to their genre. Grisia is not the typical harem as you learn by the end of the first episode that it has dark elements in it. Yahari isn't one of those rom-coms where all the characters are happy and optimistic. Both have dark elements to them that aren't expected for their genre. In addition, the main cast for both anime have completely different personalities from each other so no two characters feel the same. 

While both series belong to different genres, one thing they both have in common is a similarly stoic protagonist who is always logical and hardly ever expresses emotion. And in both series, they're both mysterious protagonists, since very little backstory is given to explain their stoic personalities. But in Grisaia no Meikyuu and Grisaia no Rakuen, we eventually learn a lot more about Yuuji's backstory, explaining why he is the way he is. On the other hand, Aldnoah Zero's second season never explains Inaho's backstory. 

Themes are similiar including: overcoming personal defects and romance. The story and romance is a little more grounded than in Grisaia Has 3 seasons and OVAs which actually constructively gets better as the story/background develops. The anime like the source material has the story line and conclusion in mind from beginning to end. Well developed themes and character development of the protaganist who saves everyone. Has some dark overtones like Grisaia, but is overall better focused in unifying all story arcs into a satisfying conclusion. Harem overtones are downplayed until the last season, but actually contributes to the story in conclusion.
